You know, I would have to say that the news is really starting to make way too big of a deal with things that happen at Kings Island. First with the normal ride breakdowns and now this. These systems malfunction all the time and it happens everywhere. You don't see this in the news when it happens at Applebee's.

Hi! Welcome to KIC! Regarding some of your comments, I don't think anyone has ever said the coaster will have to take up all of the space that is now available. The recurring statement is "Future Expansion". So, a coaster could just be a small part of the expansion; with more coming in later years. Also, as you will see if you take a look through past pages, there is impressive evidence that this will be an inverted. Personally, I wouldn't mind an Intamin giga, but I constantly hear of them being a nightmare to maintain, so I don't know. If it were one, I'd hope for something along the lines of I305 vs MF. How about..... Granddad of Beast or Revenge of The Beast or Revenge of the Son or The Fallen Son (actually that one really isn't that bad) or Godfather of Beast. (And, yes, none of these are serious. I'm confident in Banshee.)

I made my first and so far only trip up to the Point last year. We bought Fast Pass. And thank God. I can't imagine actually waiting in line for the terrible ride Mean Streak is. For the first time ever in my coaster riding life, I had to sit down and take a break from doing anything for a while. My back was not liking me in the few hours after that ride. Going up the lift, I was aware of what people say, but thought I had to give it a try. What a mistake. The ride had only just begun and I was feeling more pain than fun. Needless to say, I will NEVER ride Mean Streak again unless they make Iron-Horse level changes to it. Oh and it officially ranks lower than all other coasters I have ridden (Including the kiddie ones).

Your arguments for the other direction for the lift hill do make sense. BUT, you have to remember how the transfer shed seems to be set up. I really don't think the ride will pass the transfer before going up the lift and there doesn't appear to be any footers set up for the station to be on the other side of the transfer. Also, there is no reason the layout can't do some stuff under the lift. So, Rcoaster10, I believe you have it right.

While this is certainly tall enough to scare people, I wonder about its speed. At 600 feet there is great potential for at least one drop around 200 feet. It could gain 80 mph then slow and go back to another speed around 60 mph. And so on. Sounds like it could be quite the thrill to me. Of course its also possible the drops will be smaller and not as fast/fun. We'll find out. Actually, I believe we won't find out because I don't think this thing will get built. Vegas has so many abandoned projects and with this site's proximity to the airport, its highly possible the FAA won't approve it. Although, hopefully we will see it somewhere around the world in the next 5-10 years.

I actually think the proximity of Diamondback to Planet Snoopy is brilliant. While the older ones in the family get their fix on a high thrill coaster, the young ones can go run around on their favorite rides just a few feet away while they wait. I mean come on, I can't be the only one that realizes this brilliant location.

How is it smart, exactly? I mean they change the image to have each park's logo. Why can't they also do so with each parks own rides?

I voted Australian. Back before Soak City was announced, I was in Boomerang Bay and I thought, "what a great theme!" It's very unique and not really seen anywhere else. The faded paint blends in, the names sound great, way better than that other stupid generic "Soak City" theme Cedar Fair uses. And then I learned the news of the worst change KI has ever made.

Well, you posted it in the context of the maintenance shed. He posted in the context of the first drop, lift, station, and maintenance shed. So, no reason to feel ignored.

I thought individual park stats weren't released for Cedar Fair. Was that a false assumption or did it change recently? Also, that is a very interesting find filled with information. Interesting that Knott's attendance dropped, while almost all others others increased. Hello all, I am a frequent reader, but a very infrequent poster. One of the reasons for this is because I am embarrassed of my display name. I just find it cheesy and childish. I have tried to contact two administrators to change it and both times went nowhere. The first one got a reply to which I responded, but then did not have anything else occur. I sent him a new message, but still nothing. I decided to contact a different administrator, but once again, nothing seemed to happen. So, here I am now, making a whole topic for it.
