The park has said at least twice now (once through Bodda and once on Facebook) that they are not closing Action Theater, and I will believe that unless and until the park announces otherwise.

Seconded! Having never had the opportunity to ride SoB, I would love to see it fixed. I also agree about recaR; I never got the chance to ride that either, so I'd love to see it back. Now if only there was a way they could legally bring it back...

Looks to me like the problem is that RingMaster closed his formatting tags in the wrong order in post #6. To fix it, he or a mod needs to edit that post without the rich text editor and, at the end of the second quote, change [/color][/b][/quote] to [/quote][/color][/b]

Exactly. It's useful as a starting point for your own research, but don't believe everything you read on it. I don't have a Wikipedia account, but I've done some vandal fighting anonymously when I was bored, so I've seen some of the stuff people will try to slip in. As a side note, referring to Wikipedia as "Wiki" is technically incorrect; a "wiki" is any freely editable website, of which there are thousands upon thousands. ~~~~

Depends on what time of the year. This Saturday, we got to ride it 12 times during the hour. On the average weekday during the summer, how is it then? (Not surprised about the 12 rides, because Haunt isn't until 7.) Weekdays during the summer? IIRC, DB was usually about a one- to two-train wait during ERT. No clue about The Beast, though.

Some constructive criticism: Your email link on the home page is broken. For a correct direct email link, you need to prefix the email address in the "href" attribute with "mailto:", so it looks something like this:<a href="mailto:username@isp.net">Contact me</a> However, that opens up your email address to spammers. I recommend instead hiding the email address behind a CAPTCHA (those type-what-you-see-in-the-picture things) by using the free reCAPTCHA Mailhide tool. In the original post above, you linked to the site with the words "Click Me". That's generally considered bad form for the reasons laid out in the Wikipedia article on "Click here". I know that's not technically criticism of the site itself, but I just want to make sure you're aware of that for the future. Otherwise, I like it! Keep us updated on it.

Yes, season pass processing is outside the gates, all the way to the left as you approach them. I'm not sure, but I would assume that they are the same. Can't help you with that one; I processed my 2010 pass on a Monday in May, so I was in and out in five minutes. I've got no clue what the lines, if any, are like today. The only Disney park I've ever been to is Disney's Hollywood Studios, so it wins by default.

Let's designate the bottom of the first drop as "point A". When the first car passes point A, it is traveling at (for example) 59 mph. Since all cars of the train must travel at the same speed at the same time, all cars are doing 59 mph at that exact moment, but the last car is not yet at point A. Because the last few cars are still traveling downhill, the train continues to pick up speed until the last car passes point A, at which point the train is now moving faster (say, 64 mph). The same occurs at the top of an airtime hill. When the first car reaches the top of a hill and begins to go down the other side, the rest of the train is still going uphill, and the train is still slowing down. Only after the train's center of gravity goes over the top of the hill does the train begin speeding up. Therefore, when the front car reaches "point B" (15 feet down the hill from the top), the train may be traveling at only 19 mph, while when the back car reaches point B, the train has picked up speed and may now be traveling at 32 mph. Also, the reverse of the above occurs when going up a hill; the train will slow down between the front car reaching point C and the back car reaching point C, making the front faster at point C. In summary, yes, at any given instant, all cars are traveling at the same speed, but each car does not travel over the same point on the track at the same speed, hence why different seats can feel faster or slower. The back will be faster at any given point on a downhill, and the front will be faster at any given point on an uphill.

I admit to not having tried most of the restaurants at KI, but I like the Juke Box Diner. $7 may be steep for a bacon cheeseburger to some people (I'm talking about the price without the fries that are included in the posted price), but for that $7 you get a huge sandwich that I have trouble finishing and that's definitely worth the money IMO. Between that and a souvenir cup refill, I can eat lunch or dinner there for less than $10.

I'll probably be in the minority also, but I'll take a waterpark expansion, as long as it's kept accessible to non-swimmers like myself. I really like how none of the current attractions have water deeper than 3 1/2 feet except the wave pool, and there I can wear a life vest. (I've been taking swimming lessons, but without much success.)

I know this is getting a bit off-topic for this thread, but would the cost of the Platinum upgrade be worth it for just two days at CP? Two days is probably all I would spend there in a trip, and it's unlikely at this time that I would be able to make more than one trip. Also, since I probably won't know whether I can make it to CP until next year, can I buy Gold now and upgrade to Platinum later if I decide I want it?

OK, where do I start? Let's go back to 1996 and age 9, when my mom talked me onto The Racer—my first "big" coaster. That ride spooked me so bad that, as of this spring, I had not been back to KI or any other amusement park since. Fast forward to this May (now age 23), I saw a TV commercial for KI's Gold Pass, got online and looked at it, checked my (tight) budget, and decided to go for it. My first visit, I hit up some of the smaller coasters, such as Flight Deck, BLSC, AE, and The Racer. I found that I would be scared on the first ride because I didn't know what to expect, but the second (and subsequent rides) were very enjoyable. Each visit, I added a couple of bigger rides, starting with The Beast, Vortex, and Firehawk on the second visit and progressing to Diamondback and Flight of Fear on the third, and before long, I found that I couldn't get enough of the biggest rides, particularly Diamondback. I was thoroughly surprised at how fast I went from having been scared of coasters for 14 years to having ridden every coaster in the park and loving every minute of every ride. Though I usually went alone, in early August, I went with my mother for a day. That day was less about rides than it was about just visiting with her, as I don't get to see her very often. Early in the day, I talked her onto Flight Deck, and I still remember the look on her face throughout the ride as she was scared throughout the ride; luckily, it's a short ride. She was limited in what rides she could ride due to minor back problems, and so I didn't ride much either, but that day was more about reconnecting with her, and it's one I'll remember for quite a while. Also in August, I traveled down to Orlando for a Star Wars convention, and while down there, I had the opportunity to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios for an evening during the semi-private Last Tour to Endor event, the final night for Star Tours. While there, I was able to take advantage of the short lines to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster five times; it's not the best coaster, but at least I can say I have a credit from a park other than KI. That night was a unique experience also, and another one that I'll remember for a long time to come. All in all, it was one of my best summers in a while, if not ever, and I'm pumped for next season. I'm definitely going to renew my Gold Pass for next year and visit KI as often as my tight budget allows. I'm also considering a trip to Cedar Point for a day or two if I can find the money to do so. I haven't tried to renew mine yet since I won't have the money to do so until next month, but apparently you can do so without having to get a new card or possibly without even having to go to the park. Kroger's ticket prices vary from store to store. At the Xenia Kroger, I believe KI tickets are $35, same as online.

While I love the "big" rides (Beast, Diamondback, etc.), I could spend all day on Flight Deck and The Racer. Either that, or I'd hit Boomerang Bay. P.S. Who voted "throw a tantrum"???
