Indeed. The ONLY restaurant out of those that I visit regularly that kept serving romaine is Panera, which has signs at all registers stating that the recall was only for romaine from the Yuma area and that their romaine comes only from California. The rest simply stopped serving it, probably because they couldn't be sure exactly where it was coming from. KI probably did the same. I do agree that guests should be informed of the switch prior to paying for their food.

This is what the people who say "I had good food and service so everything's great" are failing to see. It's a lack of consistency. Just because one person had a great experience one time does not mean there are no problems. Just because you had great service three out of three times in one day does not mean that someone else may have had poor food and poor service three out of three times that same day, even at the same restaurant. The experiences of one person or a few people, even over an extended time, do not form a representative sample from which generalizations can be made about the overall service. Take ALL of the reviews in this thread, and add them to all of the reviews in the other threads on this subject (such as the "meal deals" thread), and you begin to approach something resembling a representative sample. And that sample says that Kings Island food service is horribly inconsistent at best. Don't get me wrong here: It's not a bad thing to report when you get good service, because that is a useful data point. The thing you have to remember is that said data point is not representative and must be considered in the context of all of the other data points.

Staffing? We're just starting to come out of the school year, so until now the park hasn't had enough staff to open everything since they rely largely on high school students. Rides are the #1 priority when understaffed, and after that, they have to pick and choose which food places and shops to open. It seems to me that national chains* like that would naturally be a lower priority than the park's own "brands", particularly the new shiny one directly across the midway. *excluding Panda Express and Chick-fil-A, which last I checked were staffed and operated by their respective companies instead of by the park

Those have been gone for a couple of years, I think? In my experience, they were rarely accurate anyway. I always produced my own estimate by looking at the line length myself.

My guess: lightly crowded, but not as dead as weekdays this week and last week have been, since a lot of kids will then be out of school for the summer. As always, crowd sizes are heavily dependent on weather, which cannot be forecast to the needed level of precision this far in advance, no matter what AccuWeather tries to tell you. I'm still salty, and will forever be salty, about Tropical Storm Isaac in 2012 moving up the Gulf coast of Florida the day I was at Wet 'n Wild Orlando. The rain that Isaac's eastern edge dumped on Orlando (which wasn't very heavy, and came with no wind at all) resulted in Wet 'n Wild closing after one hour because they didn't get the required 50 people through the gate in that hour. And now Wet 'n Wild is closed forever, and I never got the chance to go back.

Actually, since we're talking about height and speed in the U.S. measurement system, it would be better to say 32.2 ft/s2. One of the things I learned in the basic physics course I just finished is to never mix measurement systems. EDIT: Also, you have to account for friction, both with the air and rolling friction on the track. So the actual acceleration is less than 32.2 ft/s2.

Generally speaking, most food places in the park operate from one hour after park opening to one hour before park closing. The exception is food places on International Street, which usually stay open until park closing (and sometimes open earlier as well).

I would prefer B&M due to the better reliability, since a ride is no fun if it's down every time you try to ride it (see @King Ding Dong's ongoing battle with WindSeeker), but I'll take the giga either way. After all, we're just begging for a giga, and beggars can't be choosers. That said, Cedar Fair's issues with Intamin are well-known, and their resulting lack of any recent projects with Intamin speaks volumes as to which manufacturer is more likely to be used for a KI giga.

Welcome to KIC! Try searching this forum; many people have created similar threads to this in the past, and those threads contain a lot of helpful information for people like you. Being a 5'6", 165-pound guy, I can't really help you with specific advice, but can offer a general thought: Some rides (Diamondback, Delirium, and Banshee) have test seats at the entrance that you can try before getting in line. On all other rides, you can go up the exit and ask a ride op to test fit a seat before getting in line.
