  1. This thread turns more and more into an episode of Blue's Clues with each post. I think we're getting a little ambitious here, guys. I'm personally going to be pretty surprised if it's much more than a world-class, world's tallest t-rex animatronic. At most, I'll say he's part of us getting that Action Theater movie. Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but if CF is adding a new section and all that for 2011, would they *really* just start hyping it up seven weeks before the park opens? Diamondback was announced in August of 2008, after all... On the other hand, one thought I had that doesn't seem to have appeared: what if 3/18 holds an announcement about an announcement for Son of Beast? I know it sounds ridiculous, but Six Flags Over Texas did just that a few weeks ago via Facebook for the New Texas Giant, different chain though it may be. There was a week-long countdown to the announcement of the ride's opening date. That idea could also be used for any big 2012 addition, too. (I'm just throwing the idea out there.) I feel like that would have to one HUGE t-rex!! Wouldn't Universal or something have made an extremely large one at some point? Maybe not but I just feel like they would have... That's because they did, http://0.tqn.com/d/t...jurassicUSH.JPG . For the record Disney also created one for the final scene of Animal Kingdom's Dark Ride, "Dinosaur." Only problem is that as to my knowledge, Universal's animatronic is only half of a T-rex. If I am correct I am not so certain it would be counted in the record books.
  2. I believe the video title has now changed to, "King's Island 2011-1."
  3. As a practicing physcologist, I feel your pain. Sometimes people never want to listen...
  4. Terpy, I am not stating that the park should recieve said funding but, I do believe if the funds were not availble in the private sector not due to, a lack of interest then, state funding for a project of this nature would be a appropriate. Considering, the state of Kentucky's economy fiifty million is just too much but, if conditions were right then, I would see nothing wrong with state backed funding.
  5. As a citizen of the Commenwealth of Kentucky, I vote for selling off the parks assets to the highest bidders if a privately backed group does not appear in the near future with the ability to open and run the park. As much as I love amusement parks, the state of Kentucky just does not have the funds to spare in the current economic climate to put into reopening the park. A venture such as this is for private enterprise, not goverment oversite. I don't care if it's privately or government funded, if it works, it works. I'm not sure if the state possesses said funds to do so but, if a investment such as this is believed to be a, "sound," one and the funds exist, why not? If it creates jobs and revenue for the state and it's inhabitants, whats wrong with financial backing via state funds?
  6. With the nearby Holiday world having such cheap prices on it's food and Kentucky Kingdom (if it even opens) scheduled to feature just as cheap or cheaper prices, one has to wonder if King's Island will start to get the picture after realizing how much better in park spending does at these parks. I might be dreaming here but, it's something to think about.
  7. In response I'm going to extend Kentucky's gambling operations by betting that Beshar will not be governor in 2012.
  8. Are you suggesting people don't ask questions found on King's Island's homepage? That's insane, it's not like finding out when the park is open easy. I'd have to a click a button you know?
  9. I feel the person who wrote that article must have been living in some sort of magical underground cave.
  10. Do you think it's possible another company might step up to the plate and give it a try? Supposedly, four different companies were interested in a purchase or operational deal.
  11. Oh, yes I read a PTR Jackson did for KI a few years ago, back when SOB was back open. Terpy, what do you suppose will happen if Ed hart does not get approval?
  12. Did Jackson post in this thread? Or do you already know that off hand? Oh and the irony also made me quite happy.
  13. I find it funny, that what others find disturbing I find, hilarious. It was disturbing but, It was also hilarious and Jackson's message she is attempting sending about humanity in this piece is both true and important.
  14. Beast 1979, did you take the time to search for the true meaning of The Lottery? It is very interesting, and in my opinion, hilarious. As for KK, the one thing that keeps me leaning towards the view that he will not get funding, is that if he did ask a bank for a loan and his plan is so perfect, why did it not get approval? It doesn't add up. It's like attempting to crush two unfitting pieces of a puzzle together and pretending it works, it's silly so stop it. I feel your love for Kentucky Kingdom, and I understand but, you have to look at the evidence, it's piled high against you. Some day, we will meet. We will be fast friends (I betcha). And I will then tell you how very wrong that statement is, tell you why, and you will join me in laughing uproariously, perhaps for hours. In fact, I am taking this to my bosses to "show and tell" tomorrow. I am sure they will find it hysterically funny! Thank you for making my evening. I really needed that, and I do mean that. A good laugh is good for the soul! That made my evening, thank you for that kind comment. I'm very interested to hear your personal opinions, I always have been.
  15. Even though, I am a democrat, I must admit our reputation, for now at least has been ruined. Anyone, especially someone trying to receive 50 million dollars from the state, who is connected with the Democratic party, will unfortunately fail, there is just no way. We are in a day and age where the number one priority for politicians is to get reelected. If the general public finds out the state spent, fifty million dollars investing in a amusement park that failed twice, they will be quite unhappy. As Terpy said some of the people who have the chose to approve this, might end up running for governor and if they do approve of this, it is unlikely they will be elected. I hate to admit it but, it will not get passed.
  16. The emotional part of me says,"no," but, and I will probably change my decision on this a thousand times but, I now agree with you, this will not pass in the legislature. In this economy and with the state of Kentucky already burdened with debt, whether or not it's a good idea it will not pass. The thought of Kentucky Kingdom being reborn and sculpted back into the gem of a park it was, overtook me. I'm sorry if I distorted anyone's views. Terpy, I am also sorry for distorting your record to the public. Even though I have only been a member of this site four around two months, I have spent hours reading years worth of posts on this site, and I conclude that you, are by far the best and most accurate ,"Interpreter," we have on this site. I thank you for your most accurate predictions. I'm aware, and I have no idea why I am like that. Is it also odd, "The Ledge," by ,"Stephen King," made me happy and even caused me too chuckle?
  17. Excuse my ability to misunderstand jokes. I am sometimes called a robot due to my, "unnatural," attitude. What made me laugh in your post was when you said,"You can ride the mousey in New England." It was quite random and the way you worded it made it sound, to me at least, delightfully hilarious. I'm the kind of person who laughs at stories like, "The Lottery," by ,"Shirley Jackson." I have quite an odd sense of humor.
  18. Starchaser closed in 1995, if he went there when Six Flags did not own it and Chang was in attendance, he must have went in 1997, am I correct? I must say though, your post was quite hilarious.
  19. I was asking for a source not Mr.Hart's track record. I am well aware of that venture and it's outcome. It seems to me most of it's problems were caused by Six Flags. What small park owner wouldn't be scared of the world's largest theme park chain as competition? I will continue to stand by my opinion until, evidence that is revealing enough to convince me otherwise is given. You still haven't given me your source and shown no facts. If there is anyone out there on the fence concerning this issue, may I remind the readers that the lease the state will give the ,"Kentucky Kingdom Redevelopment Company,", are going to be used to fix the mistakes caused by former owner, "Six Flags," and will be applied to the purchase of new rides and refurbishment/repair of older rides, with intent to create a rise in profit for Mr. Hart, the state, and all of Kentucky's taxpayers. Studies done by the state have shown that the park can be very successful, given the correct dosage of support, leadership, and most of all funding.
  20. Please excuse my earlier post. Prior to posting it, I had not recently reloaded the thread causing a distortion of my true opinion. I am now reviewing Terpy's post and will comment on them at a later time.
