  1. I'm very curious to see if they're only going to be open during the night, or if they will have a daytime event as well. Guess we'll find out..
  2. It is never a park's "turn" to get something. (Michigan's Adventure?) Parks get new attractions based on their popularity....
  3. I see the fenced in area as being an entrance plaza to a new attraction, just my opinion.
  4. ^ I smell a Disney fanboy. "Just wondering why people act like Uni didn't do this exact same thing?" Here's the thing though, Universal doesn't change one of their most popular rides.... This would arguably be, by FAR, the WORST decision in the entire theme/amusement park industry. Baffles me that such a rumor would even be created. If this turned out to be legitimate, Disney lost my business, along with 20+ other million people. What a joke. Tower of Terror is one of the world's most cherished thrill rides, and the Orlando version was the first and best.
  5. Then why aren't we seeing a major refurbishment with Dragon Challenge, which also opened in 1999 at Universal? Maybe they don't see much value in the ride and they will be getting rid of it soon? Also, Busch has much smaller pockets than Comcast....
  6. The general public appreciates smooth rides, hence why Universal is re-tracking. When a ride is run 365 days a year for 15 years, yeah, it's gonna get rough. Your opinion may be that you like rides rough, but I can tell you that the general public does not.
  7. Hulk did get very rough, considering it opened in 1999 and Universal has been operating the ride 365 days a year for over 15 years. This is a much needed refurb.
  8. "But this ride is just going to be Kong 360 with a fancy facade" Says every pixie dust snorter ever.
  9. Did you say Diagon Alley was just "building and a couple projector based rides?" I think over 10 million people might disagree with you on that.
  10. "Got a bit of video to look over and examine/show everyone" What are you, an auditor?
  11. People complain about trains with multiple empty seats... then I see threads like this... WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT
  12. Since you seem to know everything about working in the industry, why not fill out an application? https://jobs.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/index.cfm
  13. Has anybody considered that possibly line management isn't the issue and maybe it's that too many Fast Lane wristbands are being sold? Food for thought.
  14. I think this is a fantastic idea for a thread. You guys have no idea how much associates appreciate hearing these things. It makes us have more confidence when we're on the job. Thank you for your nice words, and make sure you introduce yourself when you see us!
  15. 7-1 on Vortex is seriously incredible. I don't think I've ever ridden in that seat before and it was amazing, will definitely be riding Vortex more often from now on.
  16. Why are you guys hating on Kentucky Kingdom? The park was in terrible condition when they bought it, and they worked very hard to try to restore some of its former glory. This is their 2nd year of operating, of course they are still gonna be un-organized and attendance numbers won't be that great. I give Hart a lot of credit for taking on KK. As far as the situation with Terpy goes, the way they handled it on Facebook was very un-professional. I don't agree with one side or the other though. Terpy, I'm sorry you had that experience. I hope the park can work out a lot of their problems this season so that in the future they can compete with Holiday World, and maybe one day be on the level of Kings Island. I would love to have another major theme park in the area. I'll be saying a few prayers for the park.
  17. It's on the weekend...I don't think people have exams on the weekend. That's why I said "around the time." My school has exams starting the next Monday. Jdawg needs to work on his reading skills.
  18. Already got my ticket! Should be a sweet event, not sure why they decided to schedule it right around the time when people have exams, but I won't complain.
  19. I'll be working Diamondback this year guys, come ride the tallest, fastest, and best roller coaster in the park.
  20. Here's my two cents on WinterFest if anyone cares: The park's main objective is to make money. It's that simple. I think they'll observe how The Beach Mountain goes over this winter. If they get a substantial amount of visitors to their event, it might peak the interest of KI and make them realize that there is an interest in a big winter event in the greater Cincinnati/Dayton area. However, the park is barely able to have enough time to do off-season maintenance within the 5-6 month span from November-April. WinterFest would drastically cut into that, so I don't think that with Halloween Haunt, the park would be able to open the 3rd or 4th week in April like usual. I think it would need to open around Memorial Day at least to allow enough time for everything. I don't want that myself, I would rather the park be open for Spring Break, and have more time to ride the rides. Ohio weather is inconsistent, and that's the main problem here. Sure, you may get a few days in December where it's perfectly fine to be outside, but the majority of the time it is not. I think the main problem with everyone on here is Kings Island withdrawal. You miss being in the park, and I understand that. I'd like to see Kings Island follow in the footsteps of Cedar Point, and maybe have 1 or 2 winter tours that help support charities. But, I just don't see WinterFest ever coming back, and being a success that is. The park is understaffed in the spring and fall as it is, finding the right amount of people to take care of a park so massive in the winter, with snow plows and everything, just isn't going to happen.
  21. Mr. Jdawg1998, I'd love to meet up with you at this spectacular winter event sometime! You seem real chill, we should def meet man!
  22. My hope is that this is a HUGE success and that a certain amusement park takes notes regarding other winter events......
  23. Mr. Jdawg1998, What are you talking about? I found this year's event to be fantastic. Especially around midnight the actors were so full of energy and really got into it. Nightmare Alley was easily the highlight of the night. But, I found Killmart's theme and design to be terrible. I may not have ever met you before, but I can already tell we have completely different views and opinions on things. Sincerely, Mr. CoasterGeek101.
