  1. The last three times, I've ridden in 5-1. Beat me to death.
  2. Vortex to me, this year, is considerably rougher than it has been in the past. Don't know exactly why, just is.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nL21u2fCZk
  4. Kids are $5.99 I think with GP. For me and my daughter, was $19 and change with tax. Easier than leaving the park, plus, you can cadillac it, take an hour or so to sit in the A/C.
  5. The only thing I can see being a problem at Soak City is the new wave pool. Either get rid of the tubes all together, or make them mandatory if you are more than 3 feet deep. I am 6'6", 235 lbs, and being out there without a tube in the 5-6 foot section is flat out dangerous, and someone of smaller stature than myself is going to wind up drowning. People act like fools, kick you, hit you, will flat out run you over, as they are not paying a bit of attention.
  6. Jesus would have to perform another miracle for this to happen on July 4, 2012. It IS Jeebusfest this weekend, after all. He might just stick around until Weds... Could be Him, or, could be HIM.
  7. He wanted to eat, drink, and be Mary...
  8. Don't waste your hard earned money on a Fast Lane pass on a Monday. You won't need it.
  9. Whew...I thought someone had lost it, which seemed rather daft. I like it where it is, gives a great view of the park, as well as the woods surrounding it.
  10. We take cheap towels, old t-shirts and 5 dollar Ikea rubber shoes. This works well for 2 reasons. One, if cheap towels, old t-shirts and 5 dollar Ikea rubber shoes are stolen, no big loss, and the total is still less than a locker rental. Two, who the Hades would want cheap towels, old t-shirts and 5 dollar Ikea rubber shoes? Absolutely! I leave everything in the car, put my passes, credit card, and car key in my suit, and carry in two or three old holy towels, my rattiest t-shirt, and pair of $2 flip flops per person. Those things stay at the seat. Amazing to me what people DO leave out for the world to take. Iphones, $150 shoes, the works.

  12. this sounds pretty true except 2015!? Kings Island wont wait that long They've waited this long... If you put a timeline out, say they announce the SOB is being dismantled this fall. Will take until 2013 to complete that. Would be 2014 at the absolute earliest to have a new ride open. Doing a major refurb would be 2014 as well, as just redoing the track isn't going to completely change the "ride experience". Would have to be some major structural changes made as well.
  13. I was wondering about that on Weds...looked like they had done more than just pour fresh concrete. I didn't remember what the supports were like there previously.
  14. The Racer torn down? There simply is not enough clearance for the horse shoe pits, per NHPA rule II sec. B 10, with The Racer in the way. That is why the blue Racer hasn't been running, they were testing on that side for the proper pit clearance. Also why The Racer did not get big publicity for it's 40th anniversary, or a new paint job. Have you not seen Stuart Sipma around Coney Mall this year? I've seen him twice, both times with a hard hat and tape measure.
  15. ERT did not start on the DB yesterday until 9:40 or so. Got one ride in before the park opened, as we ditched it for Surf Dog.
  16. Sasquatch breeding areas are often ignored too. I've seen parks build coasters over snipe hunting grounds as well.
  17. I have not seen both Racers running since opening day, though I'm sure that the blue one has been running since, it has not been in any of my 6 trips since. I wonder why that is?
  18. Very similar to Invertigo, except the up parts go straight up, instead of at an angle like at KI. Hanging facing straight down in the Invertigo restraints would be awful for 5 minutes, much less 90, though the story is sensationalized to the max.
  19. I was there too...got there around 10:45, walked back to The Beast, rode twice with a 5-10 min wait each time. Lines for everything else were longer than I would ever wait in. Yesterday would have indeed been a poor day, should it be the only day a family went to the park for the season. No shows ( I was hoping to see the Ed Alonzo show for myself), not much really to do, we went over the the waterpark, and wasted the day away there. My only complaint about Soak City, though, is, women over 300 lbs should NEVER, EVER be in public with swimwear on. Same with men over 400. No one should ahve to watch two ton Tina eat her third plate of food in two hours in her moo moo bikini, or whatever that style of suit it is. No one needs to see that, ok? Cover it up. All of it. Stores have miles and miles of fabric. Use it. Rant over. Ugh. See what happens when there are lines?
  20. This would be like me going to see Twilight over and over and over and over, a movie in which I abhor (tried to watch it as a favor to my wife, did make it thru the first 45 minutes, my wife let me leave thankfully, even she said it was horrible), and posting incessantly about it. Why bother? I'd rip my heart right out of my ribcage with my bare hands and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it 'til I die rather than do that.
  21. Hmmm..8 posts in this forum, all in this "made up" topic of his/hers, seen a show he/she hates 5 or 6 times now... Makes perfect sense to me.
  22. That is where The Vortex is sinking...I thought that everyone knew that. It was common knowledge, here anyway, that DB would be closed all week, and that Invertigo has been closed off and on for going on two weeks now. Add to that, common knowledge of the sporadic closings of WindSeeker and Delirium since the opening of those attractions. Perhaps changing the date of your visit would have been in order, especially if you were going specifically to ride the aforementioned rides. Jsut sayin...
