  1. It certainly was not kind to ones junk...the ride itself was and is fine. Using the technology available today to update the bad part of the ride should make a wonderful ride.
  2. Safe to say they did all that concrete work for a reason? I know it won't be "our" Eagles, but, a copy of the new ones at CP would suffice...
  3. In fairness, had they done a weekend or two of "farewell rides" on SOB, even though the ride beat me to death, I would have waited to ride it again...
  4. "Let's wait in line to get the boys racked one more time..."
  5. Love Mean Streak! I don't know why the ride gets so much grief. Blue Streak is just a cool, old, classic ride. Wouldn't be right if it was smooth as glass, now, would it?
  6. They are obviously using the crane to hang Christmas lights...
  7. My posts are all in fun...though we have seen many eat during dollar days like they are going to the electric chair.
  8. Unfortunately for my people watching fun, the kid and I will be in Louisville Sunday eve for Corky Miller Night. Trip to Louisville Slugger Museum, a night at Galt House hotel for $54 on Hotwire, $12 front row tickets, how can you beat that? They do have $1 Hot Dogs and $1 Pepsi that night...
  9. All the LaRosas you can keep down for $1 a slice? Yuck...and, no thanks. Would be a great place to people watch. Sit by the fountain, and watch them line up like cattle. Nothing like spending a day watching the masses shovel pizza down their gulletts at $1 a slice.
  10. If this is offered for $99 as as add on to my Platinum Pass renewal, I am in. Going to at least two other parks next year, probably three. Had this been good chain wide in 2014, I would have bought it.
  11. We will now be doing a Carowinds/Kings Dominion trip next year. Looks like an awesome coaster to add, and, add to that a complete reboot of the entrance plaza makes this ride a home run! Has anyone ever stayed it the cabins at the camp at Carowinds? Decent accomodations for two people? Better than the hotel "on site"?
  12. To my mind, and I can be a negative nellie, this is GREAT! Look at all the money donated in the last three weeks, many of those likely people who, without this going viral as it has, would have never in a million years visited the ALS website, or donated money. You take that, add three people to it, it grows exponentially. Again, any publicity is good publicity in this case, if people really know what is going on or not.
  13. The preview night is a great idea...well done there.
  14. Boo. Only for use on Sunday, when the perk isn't normally needed. Horrible, just horrible. I do not understand the willingness to give the house away, for a perk that will cause more harm than good.
  15. Just a very ham-handed response from a park that, as of late, has done fairly well in the PR department. Seems to me that the park wants to have it both ways, saving money allowing online renewals, and charging more should a child grow an inch or three over a summer. The PR hit they are rightfully taking pales to the $$ in this case. Just mind numbing sometimes.
  16. I simply have no patience for the segment of society that steals from people. These two probably mooch off the taxpayers as well. Hang them from the tallest tree in Warren County...would have to be a stout tree, as they are a couple of bigguns.
  17. At least it will give something for the people waiting for Top Thrill Dragster to re-open everyday something to do...what a fun, but incredibly unreliable ride it is.
  18. Sorry...didn't mean to come off as giving a lecture. Just hoping that no one else has the same thing happen, when it is so easily avoidable. Welcome to KIC, by the way.
  19. Stuff like this is why it is just so foolish to not prepare for your trip to the park. I NEVER, EVER, leave anything in storage, and, guess what? I've never had anything stolen. Even when we go to Soak City, I bring by worst flip flops, and the crappiest towels we own. My DL, cash/card stays in my pocket at all times, along with my car keys. Sorry that you lost your stuff, but, please, learn your lesson. Carry only what fits in your pockets, or, rent a locker. Just too easy for the worst elements in our society to take more "free stuff"...
  20. Raptor is just...so...rough. Very abrupt, an ear boxer for sure. That said, you can certainly tell where a ride like Banshee came from. Though, the ride experiences are so vastly different. Banshee has better design, much smoother, great transitions.
  21. 1) Diamondback 2) The Beast 3) Banshee 4) Flying Eagles 5) Der Spinning Keggers 6) King Cobra 7) Vortex (Even though I can't hardly stand to ride it anymore) 8) FOF 9) Son of Beast - Considered it a badge of honor that me at 6'6" and my 6'4" brother rode in the same car...though we needed a can opener to get out 10) Viking Fury - Less filling....tastes great!
  22. Would be some great people watchin'...if one could find a safe place to do so.
  23. I've never been one to not let a parent/kid past, if it is obvious that his/her group is a little ahead. I would agree that it is not your place to try and play traffic cop. In some places, and on some days more than others, that could turn out very, very badly for you.
