Well I officially overheard in the Wolf Pack line Friday night that a security guard told a friend of this woman that KI was waiting on someone to pick up sponsorship to repair and operate S.O.B. because it was too expensive for KI to do the repairs itself. Mystery Solved!

Just out of curiosity wonder what it costs to rent the park for the day? Electric, employees, maintenance etc. etc....gotta be a hefty sum.

They had a pass holder appreciation weekend at CP...only pass holders were allowed in for extended ert. Wait times were nothing unless you wanted a front or rear seat.

Wonder if this will ever hit KI. Was a nice time at CP, they need to do it down here.

I think the biggest refurb Action Zone needs is to be returned to the African Theme it originally was with the suspended rope bridge and all.

We finally went through DA last Saturday. We were waiting for the fire dino to be replaced and I must say it was really enjoyable. If you let yourself imagine what it would be like to see a 70 foot dinosaur moving and walking around, or wonder what you would do coming around a bend in the woods and coming face to face with Velosiraptor..if you use a little imagination walking through there, or approach it with the wonderment of a child I think it makes it well worth the 5.00 price. When we came to the area back by the dig site and the T-rex, my son read the sign telling about the dino that would run top speeds of 45 mph. He asked me if I thought WE could outrun it if it was chasing us...I told him the dionsaur isn't what I would need to outrun! One thing that really stood out to my wife and I was a small boy walking past us, looked to be about 5-6 years old. He was no where near the sign that told what type of dino it was, he turned to his parents and was very excited about the ******** head sticking out of the trees. When you see this you realize that the powers that be really might have had a good idea putting this attraction in. Although I hate to see PWE being removed and wish they could have somehow incorprated it into the DA going in at CP, it will be interesting to see what they do with it up there based on whatever experience they have gained from KI.

What exactly is an action river? I'm still confused about it. At Cedar Point they have the Renegade River. It is basically a lazy river, you go past waterfalls, go under sections that have rows of small buckets that dump water on you. Toward the end of the lazy river you come around a bend and this section is a wave pool built into the river. You float through about 1 foot waves, go under water spouts etc. Nice addition to the lazy river, glad they are doing it down here. I just hope they operate it like Cedar Points river and let you stay in as long as you want and not make you exit after 1 loop.

I think it's interesting the CP is still open this week and KI is closed. Guess it all has to do with school schedules.

I worked third shift security at the park when the mauling took place, bad times. We would have to go through and do gate checks at night around the perimeter and you could always see the glowing eyeballs in the distance when you checked the lion paddock gates. We also had to do a walk through of all the buildings. I remember the vet building with "the cooler". It was a place to always send any trainee you had with you by themselves, it was where they kept the dismembered body parts of the animals they did autopsy on. You would never tell them where the light switch was for the cooler so they would have to walk through with just their flashlight...ahh the memories

There is enough land out there to do Pirate Island haunt so guess they would use that trail. Couldn't imagine DA being that attractive out there tho...dinosaur screams mixed with the noise of milli going overhead every few minutes.

Yeah older age and working 70 hour weeks makes it blow by REAL quick Oh how I miss school!

A new wave pool with a 100' tsunami like Typhoon Lagoon would be kewl.

Riding The Beast the other day my son and I were talking about how kewl it would be to have some of the dinosaur screams back in the woods by The Beast. Something you could hear waiting in line and maybe back on the second lift hill before the helix.

So for anyone who has ridden the WindSeeker at KI and CP anyone think the KI WindSeeker spins a bit faster than CP's?

Out of the 4 webcams on KI's site only the WindSeeker cam is working.

Really wish they would keep up with the webcams.

Next time WindSeeker is closed and it's calm on the ground...go up in the Eiffel Tower and see if there is a difference in the winds. If it's windy up top then you know it's closed because of the winds, if it's calm then it's closed for some other reason.

I'm a private pilot and can definetly tell you the winds a few hundred feet off the ground are different than what you feel on the ground. KI should put a readout next to the sign that gives the winds aloft from the top of the tower...then maybe it would be easier to explain to people why the ride is down due to wind.
