  1. I lost my cell phone on one our employee ride nights back when I used to work there. I belive I lost it on Face/Off. Lesson learned don't ever wear kaki shorts on rides unless you have cargo kakis where you have a button to close your pocket. Pockets in kakis are a little more losser then jean shorts.
  2. Is it just me or is this site starting to get horrible? Is seems that everyone is starting to fight with everyone. With people leavin the site, and everything else that seems to be going on? This is just my observation, and is not intendeded to be flaming anyone. Thanks.
  3. First of all why are they starting to close the park down just because of the thunder storms? Last Friday was the first time I ever heard of them doing that. I can understand because of the weather we had last weekend, but because of a storm. A thunderstorm could only last a few minutes, but could last a lot longer. I remember on a season pass night years ago when they used to be from 5pm till 11pm anyone remember that? They were some bad storms move in about 8pm and lasted for like an hour and half. And all the rides re-opened like 9:45pm. So is this a new thing that Paramount Parks is doing, closing the park completly because of storms? I know Bush Gardens used to to this. Back in '87 we took a trip to Florida and went to BGT and they shut the park down because of a storm, and about the time everyone was leaving, the sun came out.
  4. I would love to see a B&M in PKI. And I can't see why they won't ever get one. I'm sure they will one day. I don't want to start any rumors, but Vortex will not last forever, so who knows what will replace that.
  5. Back when I was still in school, my Mother and I always had a tradition of going to PKI on the Friday before Memorial day. The park was always either open to the public, and for a couple years PKI had a season pass private party on that night. One of my other traditions I use to have, I use to go to Vortex for the last hour of the night, and ride it over and over again, until the fireworks went off.
  6. The first time I went to PKI was in '87, the year Vortex opened. I was only 7 years old, and Vortex was the first big rollercoaster I ever rode. I've been going to the park ever sense and have had a season pass sense '88. I also do feel the park changed a little when Paramount took over in 1993. But some good things came out of this too though. I also even had the chance to be employed by KI from the '99 thru 01' Seasons. But I still KI is still one of the best theme parks in the mid-west.
  7. Whats going on with the home page, not displaying the latest topics?
  8. Okay mistakes happen, So sorry. But just because I made a misake doesn't mean you have to call me a name. I didn't call you a name. So I don't feel name calling on this site should be allowed. Sorry I made a mistake. And I wasn't ripping on you. I just figured that the pic was on PCW's site that it was from PCW.
  9. I don't blame them from closing the park at all. The weather was really bad this past weekend. Cold and snowy. In my opinion no one should have even wanted to go to the park this past weekend, unless you lived close. Hopefully this coming weekend will be better. Looks like though temps will be in the 60's with some rain.
  10. because it is PCW and not PKI.
  11. Anyone have any idea why PCW's version is going to open before PKI's. Doesn't make alot of sense if you ask me. I thought PKI finished buliding their's before PCW's. And ours isn't even open yet!!
  12. The ads on the websites are pretty cool. I wonder if they will be updated as new ads are put on TV?
  13. That's interesting. In my opinion, I think Viacom would be crazy to sell off the parks now. After all of these years investing money into the park, and with all the movie themed rides and attractions. I know it's possible they could sell them, but whoever did buy, would have to invest alot of money unbranding the Paramount Parks. (Removing Paramount from the entire park). I would think that would cost some money.
  14. That's cool. I would like to see this for myself in my No Limits game. Nice job.
  15. I'm not going to vote for any of the choices listed. But I think the worst restaurant in PKI would have to be skyline footlong express. Why do we need this? They could sell footlong skyline hotdogs at the other skyline stand in the park.
  16. I see what he is getting at. IJST has the foot bars like FOF does. Why does it have the foot bars if it doesn't have a loop. SOB doens't have the foot bars like FOF, so you would think that the bars would look like SOB's and not have the foot bars.
  17. hehehehehe. He also has family that lives in Cincinnati. They were even an eposide of the Newlyweds that was particaly filmed at PKI.
  18. Ok I must be old. Who is he? OMG Nick Lachey was one of the singers from 98 degrees. After they split up he went on to release a solo album. He is also married to Jessica Simpson. Please tell me who know who Jessica Simpson is. He also had his own reality show with Jessica, The Newlyweds on MTV. Which just aired the last epoisde last week I believe.
  19. When I was a Vortex crew member back in '01. I never actually stapled anyone. I always pulled up on the OSTR. The only time I ever pushed down was when the OSTR was up way to high on the guest. I for one do not like riding any ride if the restraint is so tight on my body that it makes the ride uncomfortable. Yes I do pull it down far enough, just not so far that it hurts.
  20. When I worked at PKI in 2001. Nick visited the park. I have the on-ride photo from Vortex of him riding in the front seat. The employees at the on-ride photo booth were nice enough to give us all free photo's who wanted one. It was kinda cool. Wonder how much I could get from it on e-bay? LOL not that I would sell it.
  21. Okay we get a really nice looking themed coaster, and still everyone complains. They told us that IJ would be a family coaster, not a high speed thrill ride. Why don't everyone just quit complaining and just wait until you ride before you make your opinions on the ride. It may not look like much watching the testing, but when your actually on the ride, it may be a whole new experience.
  22. It's great reading everyone's trip reports. But why no pictures as of it? We want pictures.
  23. it might be on passes just processed. LOL you just read my mind. I was going to post that. I was thinking that maybe on the new passes just processed it may have this new statement. When did you guys get your passes?
  24. I picked WWC, who wouldn't love the ride that always promises you will get wet, and you may get drenched!
  25. The people who run the on ride photo booths are not hired or payed by PKI. They are an ran by an outside company. That is why you seen them still there, as they probably had no clue Vortex wasn't going to open or the park was going to close early. Back in the early days they were required to wear PKI wardrobe, but now they wear their company names on there shirts. Amazing Photo's runs most of if not all of the photo booths at PKI.
