  1. Is it possible they name the new coaster “Zodiac”? I saw multiple billboards with Zodiac while riding KMAA today. Seemed odd to me.
  2. Are the state abbreviations (i.e. “OK”) supposed to represent the headquarters of the ride manufacturers? If so, to me it looks like Chance rides is based out of Kansas; not Oklahoma.
  3. There’s also a sticker where the “OK” is on the Rotor poster.
  4. So do we expect the ride experience to change? Of course we would from day to night but Is it possible to have more than one train type? Did FoF ever change train types? If so how many rides were given on the old type? How many rides were given on FoF under the old, Outer Limits name? Just throwing some things out there that may make sense with what EngineerX is saying.
  5. N O W G O T O K I . Sounds like a crummy commercial to me.
  6. Nice PTR. Glad you and your family had a good time. I also went on Friday, 6/20 and we had a great time as well. Crowds were light for sure. I saw several Fast Lane users that I bet wished would've saved their money. Wasn't hot at all really; cloudy most of the day. We took one spin on Congo Falls to cool off; that was really all we needed. When the rides went down to the incoming storm, we went to see Cirque Imagine. Great show and entertaining. Great use of the smallish sized stage.
  7. I was so relieved yesterday that Diamondback's airtime was not affected by the addition of seat belts. I rode twice yesterday (first visit this year) and the airtime was amazing; especially towards the back. The ride does seem a little more intense in the back too. Not a ride you can nap on for sure in my opinion.
  8. Finally got to ride Banshee on Friday, 6/20/14. Wow! Intense ride. Disorienting too. First ride was around 11:30 am and in 4-1 on blue train. Felt some jackhammering, which I didn't expect. Also, I ended the ride so disoriented; it was a little too much for me. Maybe it was because it was the first coaster I rode for the day? At this point I didn't think there was any way I would re-ride Banshee ever. Second ride was around 9:20 pm and in 7-1 on purple train. Much better ride than the first. Felt faster, smoother, and re-rideable at this point. After this ride, I wanted to go right back in line to re-ride, but the kids didn't. I was thinking purple train was giving everyone the rougher ride compared to blue or green. Not the case with me; at least on this day. Can't really pinpoint which part of the ride is my favorite; it's all equally good. I can't believe how fast the first drop is. It's almost like there's a launch at the top of the lift hill that propels the trains going down the hill. Anyway, Banshee is definitely one of those rides that I must hit on every visit now. Well done Kings Island.
  9. Went to KI on Friday, 6/20/14 and FoF was closed all day. When in line for Firehawk, sounded like some construction type work may have been occurring around the external part of FoF launch tunnel. Couldn't see anything, just going by sound.
  10. Wow! I didn't realize a hot dog can be served in so many different variations. Never heard it called "sandwich" before. If BGT food prices are lower than KI I think I just may stay in the park to eat.
  11. Sounds like Busch Gardens Tampa it is. Thanks everyone. My kids like inverted coasters so they should like the rides at BGT. I think I remember reading or hearing the food prices at BGT are pretty expensive. Is it a reasonable option to leave the park to eat and re-enter? I don't know if BGT even allows re-entry.
  12. My family is taking a trip to the Orlando area in July and I want to visit either SeaWorld or Busch Gardens. Which would you recommend? Which is the better park that has a good mix of rides and shows/exhibits? My wife doesn't ride, so she likes shows and exhibits to keep her entertained while the rest of us are riding. My kids like to ride and are all over 54 inches. From the looks of it, SeaWorld is more about shows and exhibits than rides. Is this a correct assumption? Are there enough things to do to keep all of us entertained for the day? Busch Gardens appears to be more about rides than shows/exhibits; but does appear to have some areas that appear to be like a zoo (which I think my wife would like). Because of this, I'm kind of leaning more towards Busch Gardens at this point. Both parks have the $65 weekday ticket deal right now and that is very attractive for me (since I will be buying 5 tickets). I would like to visit Universal some day but the $96 ticket is keeping me from it at this point. Thanks in advance for all your feedback.
  13. I wonder what Youngstud would have to say about Banshee.
  14. I am so relieved to be hearing so many people say that airtime has not been affected. I love Diamondback and love the massive amounts of airtime. I simply don't think Diamondback would be so great like it is without the airtime. Let me ask this: if the airtime is not ejector air (which feels like to me), then why are seat belts necessary? Even if the lap bar comes up I find it hard to believe a person could fall out of their seat in any of the turns/helices. I find it so odd that after 5 years of operation seat belts are installed.
  15. Are you thinking of that area right off to the right of Delirium? (From the Camera) cause If so, I'd believe you. it doesn't look fenced off. I thought I remember reading in this topic of some kind of equipment that will be used to unload a train stuck on the lift hill. I wonder if this new concrete pad area will be where the equipment will be stored/used. Why would they need evacuation equipment or the lift other than the stairs that run beneath the train? Typically, B&M Inverted Coaster have little platforms that are raised by hand into place, and are moved along the train to remove people from the ride. You can see several of these evacuation platforms on Montu's lift hill. Thanks Sheikra, this makes perfect sense. I was looking at photos of Banshee and didn't see the platforms. I must've been looking at older photos. By the way, Montu and Oziris are both great looking coasters. The theming on both appear to be great as well. Do you guys expect Banshee to be just as good?

  17. Oh man, it's going to be so awesome to be virtually right beneath this ride while in line. I think watching the ride fly by is all the entertainment I'll need.
  18. My high school physics teacher also took my class to KI. As far as field trips go, this is pretty much the best field trip I could ask for. I'll never forget that day as we were all supposed to meet back at the bus in the parking lot at 6pm; but my buddy and I got stuck in line for Beast and didn't make it to the bus at 7pm. Wow! As we were walking back to the bus and my physics teacher saw us coming, he came off the bus and gave us a good lashing. That was quite embarrassing. We deserved it though; can't believe we made everyone wait for us for an hour. They had to be some made people. Anyway, hope you have fun.
  19. I didn't realize the webcam would update. I was trying to just post the picture. Sorry everyone. I have since removed the embedded webcam.
  20. Edit: removed webcam image of Banshee construction site.
  21. Thanks Beastmaster and MantisMan. Since there are so many supports grouped together so tightly in some areas, I can see why the triangle footers would be better than multiple small, square footers. I can't wait to see vertical construction. As many others have said: "send in the cranes". Edit: I completely understand Beastmaster. Apology accepted.
  22. I'm not worried about the renderings not being 100% accurate; I actually love the way they are. I was just hoping to figure out exactly how the triangular footers would be used, as well as the large square footers. I read pretty much every page of the "Decoding 2014" thread and have always been intrigued with how these footers would be used. I do hope though the maintenance building next to the AZ restrooms will be hidden somehow though. Seems like an eyesore for those riding Banshee. Maybe it won't be so bad since it will be on the other side of the station. Edit. I'm not whining or complaining, by the way, regarding anything Banshee related. The hiding of the maintenance shed simply appears to me as a potential area of improvement.
  23. Why do we not see any triangular footers in the ride renderings (see below)? I was trying to match up the renderings to the live web cam for support/track placement and noticed this. Also do not see any of those large square footers in which many were hoping for a tunnel. BTW, I love the looks and stats of the ride. Can't wait for 2014. Banshee will be my first full invert.
  24. ^^ So a Jeepers Creepers themed ride?
