  1. I haven't noticed a difference in it at all.
  2. Diamondback, because it's such an adrenaline rush. I still get that nervous excitement when I ride it.
  3. Since you're going on a weekday the lines will probably not be as bad; of course there are always surprises. I would say CoasterGeek's estimates are pretty good, though I didn't have to wait more than about 10-15 minutes for The Beast last Friday. It will also depend what time of the day you're riding. Good luck!
  4. I'd replace The Crypt, though I don't know what I'd like to see in its place.
  5. Whenever my dad, who had a heart attack five years ago, goes to KI with us he has a similar experience. He does ride a few things, but because he's not a thrill seeker to begin with, he sticks to calmer rides like Shake Rattle and Roll and the Zephyr. Mostly he just hangs out in the Festhaus and might catch a show or two. It can be done, even if it's not the most entertaining day.
  6. While I'm not crazy about this idea at all, I'll wait and see if it actually changes line times before I form a real opinion on it. I do agree with some previous posters though that the lines are nowhere near what they were in years past. I can remember in the 90s when the line for Vortex was out to the midway, and waiting over an hour for other coasters. Granted I don't go on weekends if I can avoid it, but the lines have been much better.
  7. I did the single rider line three times in a row today. The first time I walked right on, but the next two times I had to wait a bit - there were several groups in that line that I suppose thought they could get on faster than waiting in the regular line. The general line for that ride moves pretty quickly though so it's up to you.
  8. It was fairly crowded today but the lines weren't too bad for most things. I didn't have to wait longer than about 20-25 minutes for anything I went on.
  9. Today a guy behind me on The Beast remarked "they should rename this Shake Rattle and Roll."
  10. I've only been on it once this season so far, but I didn't find it any rougher than usual. My cousin on the other hand said the last time she rode it was very rough for her. I'll have to pass on the middle row information to her for future rides.
  11. Haven't been on it yet, but am hoping it will be running when I go again in the next week or two.
  12. This was my vote too - the fog at night was one of the coolest theming elements of that ride, plus the sound effects and lighting. I haven't been on the ride in years but if the tiki guys aren't up to par anymore, I'd love to see them get fixed as well. I would love to see full theming restored on FOF though, too.
  13. Very happy for you! I too was terrified the first time I rode it (especially since they stuck us in the next to last seat) and had my own mini freakout going up the first hill. But mid-ride, I knew it would be my new favorite.
  14. Diamondback and Firehawk are the only two that scare me to any degree, and mostly only due to the feeling of the restraints - on Diamondback, it's the airtime; on Firehawk it's the vulnerable sensation from lying down on my stomach. I trust the restraint systems, it's just that physical feeling that gets me a bit.
  15. I used to work for a TCBY and did the same thing. We were supposed to weigh every cup of yogurt we made, but it always seemed far too small of an amount for how expensive it was. That and I usually threw in an extra scoop of toppings because one was just never enough! I haven't had the blue ice cream yet this season, but it's always been a favorite of mine. Hearing that it doesn't taste the same from some is disappointing.
  16. This is a great idea that I didn't know about until this thread, so thank you. Can this be used for multiple rides, i.e. one picture on The Beast, one on Diamondback, etc.?
  17. I went on Monday with my cousin who, while waiting for our first ride on Diamondback to leave the station, tried to convince me that The Beast is faster than Diamondback...and that it is also higher *facepalm*
  18. I would say go for it; a few years back when we had family visiting, the day we had picked to go started out with overcast skies and tons of rain moving through, and the forecast said there was a chance for isolated showers/storms later in the day. After a lot of debate, we decided to go anyway, and the rest of the day turned out beautiful - clear skies and no more rain. Even if an isolated storm came through, you would probably be able to enjoy a good part of the day.
  19. Crowds weren't too horrible today, the longest wait we had was about 25-30 minutes for Invertigo.
  20. So what did you do with it when you got it home? Indyguy who wonders where these larges stuffed animals end up after they get home! Welcome to KIC spitfire! They both went into my room at the time. Now, they're in another room, along with other assorted random things that have been collected over the years. It's hard to find space but they have sentimental value to me.
  21. I've won a large red bull from the football tire toss and a gigantic Sponge Bob from the goblet toss. The only downside was having to cart SB around the park the rest of the day.
  22. First time poster, long time KI fan! My first trip to Kings Island was when I was probably around 3 or 4 years old, not sure of the exact year. My parents had been there before but I hadn't, and I must've enjoyed it because we've gone practically every summer since then (living only 30 minutes away, it's the closer park to us so it's the natural choice). I've just always loved the park - the rides, the ambience, etc. Even though it's changed since the late 80s/early 90s it will always have that nostalgic feeling for me. And since I started riding coasters in high school, I love it even more now. The only other (major) park I've been to is Cedar Point, and though I had a great time, KI is my hometown park and will probably always be my favorite.
