  1. 1. Diamondback - The first drop> 2. The Beast - I usually don't ride it in the day because it sort of bores me, but at night it's a totally different story 3. Racer - My first "big" coaster at Kings Island that I rode 4. Vortex - My first looping coaster 5. Firehawk - The only flying coaster I've been on. I love feeling like you're going to fall out 6. Flight Deck - The last coaster I rode with my grandpa before he passed away, but I haven't been on it since 7. FOF - I don't get to ride it much, but the few times I have it was really jerky 8. Invertigo - I only rode it during ERT, it was fun but after 2 rides I was really dizzy 9. BLSC - Not really a big fan of this ride 10. Adventure Express - I used to love this coaster, but now I don't ride it much
  2. I'd pay a lot of money if my band could get a gig there. But I doubt anyone wants to hear a bunch of random teens trying to sing into a microphone
  3. This may be the best post I've read in a while. I'm going to put this in my sig if it's alright with you?
  4. Bolded for emphasis.
  5. I'm mad that my family isn't going this year. It was a tradition that we would go to Coney every year to see it......
  6. An amusement park themed to Ferrari? I know where I'm going next year.
  7. I actually like that comparison.
  8. WOW- did anyone happen to catch all the clues in his comment??? For those waiting... Obviously talking to people that go to the park.. and there'll be "waiting" involved. Clearly a ride that has a line. Announce what we're building for the future... seems to be some reference to a "building"- so I'm betting its indoors. and it may open in the future. Grab yourself a Snickers bar- product placement. Snickers is obviously going to be the sponsor of ride- because it will really satisfy you! Going to be a while- the thrills will be so thrilling that the thrill will stick with you for a while. So- by my estimation through analyzing every word from Don- Kings Island IS building something. It will be in the future. Built inside a building, sponsored by Snickers- who is owned by the Mars Corporation (and before someone corrects me its actually Mars, Inc.)- and placed in an expanded X-base area as a Mars themed roller coaster that is 250 feet tall (a reference to the number of calories in a typical Snickers Bar). Since it will be sponsored by Snickers, they will have their slogan all over the line turnstyles with the mid-90's slogan: "Not going anywhere for a while? Grab a Snickers." And obviously built by B&M... because for some who's tummys can't handle "spicy" milk the milk chocolate will spur a B.... well, never mind. Solved. Decoded. Swish. Nothing but net. Dwight fashioning his best trolling persona... (i wasted a lot of time on that sarcasm... hope someone enjoyed it. back to work) Elementary, my dear Watson.
  9. And no matter what the attraction is, people will still come to the park...
  10. I'm so mad I wasn't able to go.... Oh well, there's always next time.
  11. Wow! Great trip report! It's amazing to see all the little details! I think I know where I'm going next year
  12. Today I had to take my grandpa to one of his doctor appointments in Moraine. After the appointment was done my grandpa told me that he wanted to check something out, however he wouldn't tell me what it was. He told me where to go and I turned onto Gettysburg Avenue and then headed to US 35. As I was getting on my grandpa told me to look off to the side. I was confused and asked him why I was looking at a green lake. Then he started to tell me about how there used to be an Amusement Park right where the US 35 currently sits. I asked him to explain what the park was like, but all he remembered was that there was a wooden coaster. So when I got home I decided to look up Lakeside Park and there was a lot more information than I thought there would be. So I thought it would be cool to share some of the information I found with you guys and gals. This site has the most information: http://soaphs.com/lakeside/index.htm The Flying Turns roller coaster was the first of it's kind built: This is a picture of a postcard I found off serbagunamarine.com that shows a picture of the lake and surrounding attractions. I also found some more postcards on the Dayton Metro Library Website: http://content.daytonmetrolibrary.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/postcards/id/612/rec/8 And finally here is an aerial view of Lakeside Park that I found on the Dayton VA website: This is all the information that I was able to find about the park. If you guys have any other pictures or information please post it. Sometime in the future I hope to head back down to the site and take some pictures of what it looks like now. It's a shame that there is nothing left of the park and that there aren't many people that know the park even existed, but I had a fun time researching the park and I hope you guys enjoy the information I found!

    Your Music Taste

I pretty much listen to everything. I prefer rock, however I still love all genres.
  19. Last year when it was about 90 degrees, I was stupid and didn't drink any water for the whole day. I got very dehydrated and when I got off The Racer I took two steps and had a little protein spill. Another one was when I had worn a tank top to the park and got a really bad tan line. When I went to the water park and I took my shirt off someone yelled, "Hey look this kid was wearing a bra." That was the last time I wore a tank top to the park.....
  20. Nice trip report! I have yet to go yet, hopefully I can get to the park soon. Edit: I just noticed that the sign in front of Adventure Express was re-painted, it looks a lot better now. I also noticed that I missed my 1000th post
  21. Adventure Express, because I like trees.
