  1. I think Son of Beast was the best wooden coaster of all time cause it was a fast out of control ride. Exactly the way a woodie is. Voyage, raven, thunderhead all blow.

I personally really liked SOB. Was one of my favorite roller coasters.

I whole-heartedly agree. I think SOB is one of the best roller coasters I have ever been on. I enjoyed the rough, crazy, and out of control feeling of the ride.

I guess I'm not alone anymore.....

  2. We already know that there are no winged coasters on the schedule for CF parks for next year.

That is about the only thing we can truly rule out.

One more thing we can rule out is Kings Island adding a wooden roller coaster that tops out at a height over 200 ft.....

But they'd never do anything like that anyway.....

  3. My favorite ride at Kings Island growled its last goodbyes back in the summer of 2009, and in 2012 it made its final screams of agony as it was torn to peices.......

But thats okay because now we get to see what this "Building towards the future" project entails!!

  4. I actually used to know where to find that commercial but for the life of me, I just can't find it anywhere anymore. Its possible that maybe someone here on KIC knows where to find it or has access to it. I know that he probablly can't, but maybe Don could somehow provide us with a video of the commercial?......

  5. As we all know, Kings Island has got its fair share of unique and "different" roller coasters over the years.......

Which roller coaster that is at or was at Kings Island has had the biggest impact in your opinion?

The biggest impact on attendance? The biggest impact on park guests perception of the park? The biggest impact all together?...Etc

  6. I feel bad for the person who were in a relationship with Son of Beast (if there was anybody). First he rises on top, then goes into deep depression, leading to severe mental illness. Poor guy.

Haha, good one, makes me almost remember my old posts on this site..... :P

  7. Great idea, sounds interesting... Maybe that would be something that all of us here at KIC could work together on with help from KI PR?........

If an actual SOB book was made, thast could also be something for KI to put in a souvenir shop for any guests interested in it...... (Just some thoughts)

  8. In my honest opinion, the Paramount theming was great, The ways that they tried to cut costs...Not so much....

Something I missed from Paramount days was a looping wooden roller coaster...... after the loop was removed, I didn't like it quite as much.....

  9. Because Mr. Hart did not want to risk his own money, but rather the taxpayers'. The place has already gone bust twice.

If Mr. Hart can finance his operation without state help, there may be a deal. Why should the state finance an amusement park? Other parks don't get state financing. And Kentucky is currently furloughing state employees to make ends meet.

Hopefully within the next week or so, we will know whether Kentucky Kingdom will re-open or not.

  10. KI updated their website again over the weekend, adding a new "Photo of the Day" feature, which the park mentioned in a tweet this morning. (Inspired by this forum, perhaps?)

One new error: a placeholder countdown ("Something BIG is gonna happen") was added to the 2012 Howl-O-Palooza pages, such as http://www.visitkingsisland.com/daytime/ . (Presumably, this section of the site shouldn't even be active right now.)

Those boxes are typically used to count down to things like announcements or Opening Day.

I think If I translated this correctly, Under where it says "Something BIG is gonna happen!" it also says "Tags for this ugly page. In a development".

Sounds a little odd to me.....
