  1. I have talked with numerous people within park upper management about that. Their response was that they are only allowed to use yogi bear characters ect with the campgrounds. I think Coney would have a great opportunity to put some along the river on either side of the river gate. But also the strict rules of the branding would also not allow us to do curtain things as well. Look for Coney in the future to bring more characters to the brand as well as themeing on the dry side of the park in the future.
  2. So is Coney Island expecting anything new for 2015?
  3. I think the video you are looking for is Greetings From Coney Island , it has since been pulled from youtube but thankfully I downloaded it and can put it back on youtube if you would like.
  4. It would be nice if we could recreate old coney full scale!
  5. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20121220/BIZ01/312200116/River-Downs-get-new-grandstand-gaming-area
  6. Truly how do we even know how successful this Racino will even be, you really can't make any assumptions on how good their business will even be when it hasn't even started yet. CoastersRZ is 100% spot on and will only provide KICentral with the facts he knows!
  7. She did visit the park once or twice during the season.
  8. Either it will be somewhat on stilts or they might raise the elevation of the ground by bringing in some dirt who knows.
  9. Hopefully in a positive way! Parking no doubt will be one of the biggest problems especially for sold out concerts or those busy days at Coney. Makes you wonder what kind of solutions can they make being land locked like that, parking garage maybe who knows!
  10. I'm sure if they were going to be docking a boat like the delta or a gambling boat at Coney then CoasterRZ would maybe have heard some inside info on that one. Not doubting anyone because these are rumors and they can come true but having a gambling boat by the old dock seems a big stretch but not out of the question.
  11. I think this has it's pros and cons but it should benefit Coney with some more tourism, but still anything could happen in the future with the park. If they end up building a hotel near by (which I have no idea where that would go) that would be very good for coney, also if the Delta Queen were parked near by I also think that would help boost the number of people that come to that area.
  12. That would be such an awesome addition to the park! But seems to me it's just a little bit of parking/road work.
  13. Then what exactly was pilotank talking about then?
  14. What road are they upgrading Kellogg?
  15. I'm guessing just the typical landscaping
  16. I would think 20 years down the line a lot of that might be cleared. The park might just replace more rides then expand so much unless a lot of investment goes on. But for me the better expand the train or something because I would not want to walk so far back to get to some attractions. The setup the park has now is perfect and Unless something big comes I see no need to use that land in the near future.
  17. I'm talking about Woodstock Express at Kings Island the figure 8 layout which is kinda like galaxy coasters! Also the python does pack a punch and I enjoy the ride a lot. My numbers are just IF numbers not real numbers just pure speculation. For the parks finances I truly don't know to much about BUT just saying the park isn't going to make a big investment especially while the economy is still in recovery.
  18. I agree with you they need something besides the python, but the pool brings in wayyyy much more revenue than the rides do, so that's why they invest more in the pool. Let's say they do build a good size roller coaster and attendance goes up only by 2 or 3 percent, then the park would have a big problem because if they were going to invest 3 or 4 million into a ride they would Probably like to see 10% + rise in attendance and season pass sales and that could put the park in a financial bind. Another thing the Python has almost the same layout as Woodstock Express so I would like to see something a lot more different.
  19. Even building something like Woodstock express would cost around a million dollars! If they are going to spend that amount of money I would suggest two Adult/Teen friendly flats and maybe even a kiddy ride. The park in my mind is no where close to over expanding and may need a ride or an attraction that will bring in more revenue to insure a successful future for Coney!
  20. Besides the rides section of the park and riverbend ect.... How would you say the pool does in attendance maybe around my numbers? I think truly if Coney does't start invest a little more into the park than they have been, that attendance my start to go stagnant within the decade and maybe even decline. Especially if companies that do picnics get tired of the park and maybe want something new.
  21. Does anyone have an estimate of how many people visit coney? I was thinking between 200,000-300,000 people.
  22. 1 Million Visitors, that would be a couple of generations of waiting! The park knows what it's purpose is and that is to be a family friendly park, they still have plenty of room in the back to keep expanding but the park needs a ride with that WOW factor that is unique only to the park that you can't get anywhere else!!!
