  1. The video quality should be a little better now.
  2. I think I've got the quality up a little bit. probably the best it can get right now.
  3. If you saw what we've been finding in the archives for Kings Island, then you will appreciate this from Coney Island. Dennis Speigel and I were trying to figure out when this was done....late 60's is likely. Some POV from the Shooting Star coaster. Watch and enjoy! http://interthemepark.com/about/coneyisland.htm
  4. I think everyone will enjoy this one. 1972 Kings Island Grand Opening video. No sound - just video. Copy of a VHS tape from a film - don't have the original film though. And whoever did the copy to tape before did it backwards. You'll see what I mean. At the end there is good aerial footage of the park during the opening celebration. http://interthemepark.com/about/kingsisland.htm (forgot the link before - this is a new video on the page that has the construction video - see bottom of page.) I'm working on getting the quality of the video hopefully better, but for now, enjoy! Shawn
  5. Our second video is of The Beast - a POV from years ago. See if you can figure out the year. http://interthemepark.com/about/history.htm I'm still digging through our archives and will post more if I find anything of interest.
  6. Seems everyone is enjoying the video we unearthed from our archives. Glad that we could get it transferred digitally and share it. It's been in our archives for many years and probably hasn't been viewed in decades. We are cleaning up our archives and whe knows what we will come across next. But this video is probably the top so far. We've also got some photos we've been scanning from the Grand Opening in 1972 at our site. http://interthemepark.com/about/kingsisland.htm And I think I've found some video footage from the Grand Opening which I hope to get transferred and posted. How many people can you name from the video?
  7. WoW! I find it hard to believe the posts about the Preview Day. (Well not really). As a former employee (and now consultant to theme parks), I can remember when Dry Run Day did not include any guests. Trust me, employees probably would rather have that option again if they read theses postings. It's not easy getting the park ready for the season. There is a limited amout of staff in the off season and there are a lot of tasks that need competion. Sometimes the park is waiting on outside sources for parts and assistance. It's not like you can go to PepBoys and get parts for a ride like Tomb Raider. Things aren't always in stock. I always enjoy the complaints from people who didn't pay to get in to the park. PKI started to let family members in on Dry Run Day to give a more realistic working day to get the employees more familiar with their operation. Things are not going to be perfect on Dry Run Days. This is when rides & employees really get to test things. I could go on, but I don't think it would change the minds of those who were there. To sum it up I think it is crazy to say it was the worst day ever since the park is not officially open yet. Shawn
