  1. I too have seen a couple of guys in women's clothing while in line for Firehawk during the summer of 2010. One of them was around 300 lbs., wearing an early 80's style, flower patterned, mid-length, dress, while the other was really skinny and apparently channeling Daisy Duke with a purple blouse tied up in the front and cut off shorts with the pockets hanging below his shorts. If you're gonna do drag at least have the decency to do it right. It's bad enough that most of us get a bad rep as it is, do you really need to make it worse with bad fashion decisions. It was truly something I never would have believed if I hadn't witnessed it with my own eyes. Oh yeah, and if someone wants to accuse me of "hating" on the LGBT community, go right ahead. Just because I'm a homosexual that doesn't mean I have to find the way that every homosexual acts or dresses in public as appropriate. Much like I'm white male and I don't have to approve or even like every mullet, backwards cap or heavy metal shirt I see a white male sporting. There's a HUGE difference between equal rights and special treatment and being offended by someone else pointing out what they saw at the park and not wanting them to do so because of their sexual orientation is the latter.
  2. Guess that depends on who you are. I enjoy the benefits of having a 3 point challenge game a whole lot more. If it's impossible, how is it that 4 different people have achieved a perfect scores at KI? If it's impossible why do they have weekly and yearly prize limits? If it's impossible, how come every park in the Cedar Fair chain offers a iPad for a perfect game and KI doesn't? I have over 30 jerseys and a PS Vita bundle from KI this season alone in my closet that proves to me that it is indeed possible.
  3. I would kindly like to disagree with your theory, that is unless you can tell me where you can get 2 iPads, 3 iTouches, an iPhone and 20 NBA jerseys for under $300. You see I know someone who won all these things in 3 days last month (May 4-6, 2012) for about that amount of money. Of course, I'm probably making all this all up.....oh wait a second, I forgot I've got it all on video with all the "good stuff" posted on YouTube (just search "Cincinnati Sniper" or "Perfect 3 point challenge", if you want to see these one of a kind videos). The key to success for all amusement park games is the same as success in life.....You practice over and over again until you perfect your craft and when you get the opportunity you take advantage of it. I sell a couple hundred dollars worth of amusement park prizes for him almost every week from sales on Amazon, eBay and Craigslist. It is to such an extreme that he pays over a thousand dollars in taxes every year on the items he wins at amusement park games. Now if you watched the YouTube videos, let me go ahead and answer the frequently asked questions I get a few hundred of times a year, since I know they are likely coming. 1. Who is he? Just a genuinely nice guy that I was lucky enough to meet and become friends with a few years ago while waiting in line for Diamondback. 2. Where did he play high school/college ball? He didn't. 3. So, you all go all across the country doing this? Yes, we both enjoy riding coasters and visiting theme parks, this is just an addition to that. Plus we both enjoy sampling the local cuisines while we travel too. 4. Is this his real job? No, just a nice supplemental income. 5. What does he do with all the stuff he wins? We sell it to help fund our future trips. 6. What's the biggest prize he ever won? You wouldn't believe me if I told you....lol 7. Does he ever get tired? Not that I've ever seen, he could do this for hours without a break, but that's usually not necessary. 8. How many times has he done it before? Around 40 or 50, but I've only seen it 10 times. As I don't always travel with him and I've only known him for 3 years. 9. Can he win me a (insert prize here)? I don't know, you'll have to ask him, I'm just the sidekick. There's a reason I'm holding the video camera, I'm fat and lazy. 10. Has he ever been banned from playing? Yes, several times. Including a lifetime ban from BGT. Games supervisors aren't real happy when you win their top prize(s) for less than $50. 11. Why doesn't he take all the prizes he has won? Because we are 500 miles (only an example, it can range from 200 to 1,000) away from home and we don't have room to put all this stuff in the car. 12. Doesn't he know he could already have half the money for "X" prize? Yes, he knows that, just hang around here for a few minutes and you'll see something special. Besides he's not over here telling you how to spend your money.
  4. Yes, I know Marriott did that. I never said Six Flags named it Great America. Guess I should of said the park and not their park. Or is it el parque instead of su parque.
  5. I thought Gurnee, IL was in the United States too, especially since they put America in the title of their park and I didn't need a passport to get there. But now that I think about it, there were several thousand people speaking Spanish while I was there....lol Glad you enjoyed your trip.
  6. I think Voyage is probably the best coaster at Holiday World, but I also think it is the least tolerable. Therefore, not in my top 10. Comfort and fun > broken ribs and headaches. In all fairness though I haven't been on it since the re-tracking this year, so my opinion is based off of my rides from the past 3 seasons. There are a few serious gaps in my wood collection that I would like to fill as well. Namely Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Kentucky Rumbler, Tremors and Renegade to name a few.
  7. I wouldn't count on Kings Dominion to be able to do anything. They are the only park out of the entire chain, that I've been to, that can't scan KI platinum passes. For the last two years I've had to go to guest relations each time to argue with them that my pass was indeed a 2012 pass and not a 2010 as they claim. It's very frustrating when KD guest relations tells you that their system is working fine and it's MY FAULT because I didn't have my picture retaken and pass re-processed. Yet, I've had no problems using my (in their opinion, 2010) pass at Cedar Point, Dorney Park, Worlds of Fun, Canada's Wonderland, Michigan Adventure or Kings Island over the same two year span of time.
  8. My favorite 10, not necessarily the 10 I feel are the best. 1. El Toro 2. Shivering Timbers 3. Prowler 4. Thunderhead 5. Ravine Flyer II 6. Raven 7. Wild One 8. Screechin' Eagle (Limited memory, but my first coaster ever.) 9. American Thunder 10. Legend The Beast is the coaster that made me realize how fun coasters could be after years of being afraid of "big" drops (Thanks 1st generation Intiman freefall at SFOG when I was 8). But unless the sun has set and there is a heavy fog that has settled in the woods (after a good, hard rain) then I would rather ride The Racer any day. For me airtime > no air, tunnels and laterals.
  9. I enjoyed both Wild Eagle and X-Flight and think a wing rider would be a good addition for CP. I found W.E. to be a better overall ride experience than X-F. Probably because of its location on top the hill and zooming past the trees more so than the bland, flat, blacktopped atmosphere of X-F. The only thing I really enjoyed more on X-F was the keyhole element. Yes, the first drop inversion was pretty cool, but it really seemed to make the ride fell a lot slower than if it had a straight forward first drop. That could also have been a result of not really having a frame of reference as to how fast you are going without the trees to gauge your speed. I think the possible CP installation will be really interesting because you will have the beach and lake for a great view and atmosphere, but you will also have the bland, flat, blacktopped area surrounding the coaster also. As far as me wanting KI to receive a similar ride in the future.....eeeehhhh? It's not really all that important to me. I can't say my rides on W.E. or X-F were any better than the rides I've had on MOST (keyword there) B&M inverts or floorless coasters. I would be just as happy, if not more so, to see one of those 2 types of coasters show up in the park before a wing rider. Not that any of those have been have been installed recently. KI does really need something "smooth" with multiple inversions that can replace Vortex in the very near future.
  10. I like the walk on or 2 to 3 train waits for 1-3, 1-4 way more than I like the 15-30 min. waits for 1-1, 1-2 once in the station. The "must do" front of the train coaster for me are B&M hypers made after 2006, the ones pre '06 are all back seat rides (i.e. Nitro, Apollo, etc.). Goliath at SFOG is great for air in rows 1 through 16. I use to always ride GCI's in the back, but after getting some serious air on Prowler and Thunderhead this season, I'm gradually starting to lean toward the front, but it's not like you can go wrong with the back seat. CCI's are iffy at best. Shivering Timbers is basically a standup coaster if you ride in the first car. But to me the only place to ride on Raven (and all HW coasters) is the back. There is no such thing as a good ride on an Arrow multi-looper with the exception of Lockeness (BGW) and Tenn. Tornado (Dollywood). I like the back on both those. I like the sway on Arrow suspended coasters in the front. B&M inverts are always better in the back, the only time I think they are as good in the front are at Busch Gardens, just because the theming is so great. Mine Trains, Boomerangs, SLCs and junior coasters.....who cares they're mine trains, boomerangs, slc's and junior coasters, they're a get the credit and go rides to me. I like Intimin hypers and gigas much better in the front, the air is just so much better to me in the front. Standup and Voltaire coasters aren't really worth mentioning unless you're looking for a law suit against a park. While spinning mouses and coaster don't really have a front seat, you always want to out balance the ride to get the best experience. A balance ride = a 6/10 at best, while an unbalance ride = 8/10.
  11. I'm sorry, but Kennywood is the most overrated park of all time, in my opinion. I think suicide sounds more fun than EVER stepping foot inside that sorry excuse for an amusement park again. Lets put it this way.....my friend could easy win a season pass for the 2 of us for under $100, but we have discussed what a waste of money and time it would be to win that "prize". I know we are the "minority" in this respect, but considering one of us is black and the other is gay, we're use to being in the minority and we wouldn't have it any other way. Canada's Wonderland has a lot of credits to get, but pre-Leviathan there is only 2, maybe 3, coasters there worth the trip. I have never been a huge fan of SFGAm, but with the addition of X-Flight I would definitely say it's worth consideration. I also enjoy SFOG, Goliath is one of the top 2 B&M hypers in North America (been on all of them). Holiday World is an experience that is unparalleled, but is very small compared to the other choices within 8 hours. Six Flags St. Louis is lacking because it doesn't have a full circuit hyper. Dollywood with Wild Eagle has definitely stepped up their game and is way more of a "must do" park than it was in 2011. I personally would suggest driving 2 more hours in the car and doing SFGAd in Jackson, NJ. I think it is on par with Cedar Point if not better. You have El Toro, Nitro, Batman:TR, S:UF, Cha.....errrrr Green Lantern, Kingda Ka, the very underrated Bizarro, and many more good, but not great coasters. Hersey Park is fun and has many one of a kind coasters, but my only ride on Lightin' Racer was on a cold track, Fahrenheit was hardly worth the wait and Storm Runner, while very good is also very short. If I was forced pick one within 8 hours, I would go with Six Flags Great America. That park reminds me a lot of KI in that it has only a couple of top notch coasters, yet has enough to keep you busy all day. I'm getting up at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow to do a 16 hour (give or take a hour) trip tomorrow, so my opinion could change...lol. My second choice would be Holiday World. What they lack in rides (not a huge water park fan) they more than make up for in customer service.
  12. Paramount ride installations + 10 years = $50+ million dollars worth of Halloween Haunt attractions. That's all we have left from the Crypt and SoB.
  13. Nope. We have done it as a one day trip on several occasions during the last 3 seasons. SF Great America, Holiday World (except Holiwood Nights) and Cedar Point are all one day trips for us. Others parks that I haven't been to yet, but I would consider a one day trip are Indiana Beach, Beech Bend and Camden Park. Kennywood and SF St. Louis could be also, but we have usually just added them to part of a 2-4 park weekend. Then again in Dec. 2010 we drove to Florida, went to Busch Gardens and Sea World and were back 52 hours after leaving Cincy.
  14. Why c'mon, really, Jdawg? These kids get the same amount of time out of school as you. Do you really think going to a less crowded park in May when it's 75 degrees outside is any worse than going to a much more crowded park in August when it's 90 degrees outside? I graduated 20 years ago and we always went back at least 2-3 weeks before Labor day. It really paid off this time of year when we were out for summer break and my parents would take us on vacation. Hotel rates were cheaper (gasoline usually was too) and amusement parks, beaches and other attractions were far less crowded before Memorial day. The only time I ever remember going to school in June was 1985 (5th grade). It snowed so much that winter that we only went to school 6 days total in January and February combined. Now that really sucked, having to make up all those days. No spring break, no days off for holidays and we had to go to school on Saturday and we still didn't get out until June 18th. We did get out for a couple days when the basketball team went to the state tournament, I mean it was Kentucky after all and high school and college basketball does qualify as a religious service....lol
  15. Pretty much no schools get out that early, I don't think. That's a bit too early...I doubt there will be any crowds at all - Monday I wil also be going to the park after school to see the crowds! There are several Northeastern Kentucky schools (within 90 miles of KI) that are already on summer break, my nephew is one of them. The remaining majority of them will be getting out next week. Go back to school August 8th + very mild winter = Out of school May 15th
  16. 1) Wood coaster credit #50 (need 2 more). 2) Steel coaster credit #150 (need 14 more). 3) Overall coaster credit #200 (need 12 more, have 4 liquid coaster credits). 4) Park credit #35 (need 5 more). 5) Get my 1,000 "career" Diamondback ride(need around 50 more). 6) Visit KI for the 300th time since I moved to Ohio in 2007 (need 40 more visits, currently averaging 52 a year). 7) Leviathan
