  1. I think they will increase prices, but over the long term. You are not going to see an overnight 20-30$ increase, especially in a deep economic recession and global pandemic. Two cons that would already give people reasons not to visit the park. Kentucky Kingdom has always been a niche favorite park for me. I love Dollywood. I love Holiday World and Kings Island(which, after working there from 2017-early 2020 will always be my #1 in my heart). There's something about Kentucky Kingdom that is so interesting. The amount of changes, the fact that it was one of the last theme parks built fro
  2. They operate SDC and Dollywood, both of which are fairly major parks. I would not call Dollywood a "smaller park".
  3. Official. Looks like its Herschend. Kentucky Kingdom to change hands, state officials say https://www.wdrb.com/in-depth/kentucky-kingdom-to-change-hands-state-officials-say/article_4b30482e-752e-11eb-9771-7bb3912ffbd0.html
  4. I very very HIGHLY doubt they will reopen for Winterfest. It is far too late to setup, train, and get everything set for an event in two weeks. I dont work there anymore but I know what the logistics it would take, and there would be a lot more things happening than the Effiel Tower being decorated.
  5. In my opinion, the waterpark has needed some TLC for ages and has ALOT more potential than what KI has given it. The additions have been nice but nothing there really makes you say "wow.... thats an attraction I would wait for hours with 200 other sweaty people". I worked at Admissions a lot at Soak City last summer and came to kind of enjoy working in the area. I think over half of my supervisory shifts were at Soak City lol last summer. It also really made me evaluate some of its strengths and weaknesses. Its strengths ironically is also its weakness, open areas with few trees. The con

  7. ** correction to above. ^ There was the first community spread case announced today in Oahu. Source: I'm in hawaii and watch hawaii local news lol. The big island so far has had no cases.
  8. I would be very, very surprised to see KI or other April opening parks open on time.
  9. I am not speaking for the park. Just from my observations. If we get to 2000 cases nationwide before April, I would not be surprised to see such actions.
  10. And yeesh, just found this on Yahoo finance... Six Flags Deadline Alert: Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP Encourages Investors Who Suffered Losses Exceeding $50,000 In Six Flags Entertainment Corporation To Contact The Firm https://finance.yahoo.com/news/six-flags-deadline-alert-faruqi-143200415.html
  11. Those results by Six Flags are incredibly atrocious, and amongst the worst earnings misses I have seen so far this year. Cedar Fair, even discounting the Schlitterbahn parks from the equation, still had 5% yoy attendance growth. I can attest personally to Kings Island being and feeling busier in 2019 than 2018, especially during the Gran Carnivale and Halloween Haunt. For Kings Island to be doing great even if it is a mature park as Zimmerman described in the earnings call speaks to the Cedar Fair model. Cedar Fair has room to relax now after 2018 being slightly challenging. I feel that they a
  12. I believe if you upgraded(renewed) to platinum you would get your cards next year, but this may have changed this year. If it prompts at Turnstiles for you to get a new card more than likely they will get you one, otherwise you would get the new card next year.
  13. This makes me so happy! So glad you were able to get them without them knowing, pretty impressive!
  14. You would have to be present in order to pick them up at the front gate sales windows. After you get the tickets that people whom they are for do not have to go in the park at the same time as you in order to get in
  15. They would have to be present in order to get the passes processed unfortunately. If processing is ever closed, the sales windows in front can also take pictures and process
  16. WindSeeker was up and running when I was last at Carowinds on 8/3/2019. However I noticed it was running really punny, like at 1/3 speed that Kings Island's does.
  17. Coaster-net has always seemingly been more cynical with KI than most coaster and themepark fansites I have come across. Definitely reaching for a story. Their facebook article links also tend to be extremely clickbaiting in nature.
  18. Dining and Drink Plans purchased for 2020 do not work until then, and will not work for 2019.
  19. I will be at the park as a guest tommorow in full anticipation! I cannot wait!!!
  20. Kentucky kingdom hosted 32000 guests over the past weekend. Including a record breaking 18,484 guests on Saturday. This is the most the park has seen since reopening in 2014. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2019/08/11/kentucky-kingdom-sets-single-day-weekend-attendance-records/1982392001/
  21. Front gate is usually priced more than online as well but the processing fee usually evens it out if you purchase three or more tickets. And yes I will be among those making my pilgramage to Holiday World for Holiwood Nights and the Event at Kentucky Kingdom on that Sunday! I am extremely surprised I have heard very little amounts of people commenting on the fact that the trims on Racer's turnaround are gone (or were gone when I rode in early May), the second half had very strong airtime!
  22. Playing devils advocate he said Banshee was a wing coaster lol.
  23. k, you're welcome!!!!!!
  24. The sense of entitlement I am reading in this thread has driven me to post. We are incredibly lucky to be possibly getting such a great addition to the park. And those who seem bothered over what may or may not be true (those footings prints look pretty real but I have my questions about the full ride layout) just dont seem to be seeing the bigger picture. Kings Island has the perfect market to draw from. A loyal base of guests and passholders any other park in north america would dream of. Since 2007 we have consistently gotten major investment. Yes Cedar Point and carowinds may have gott
