  1. 6 sold at $6.85. Someone is making a heck of a ROI on those.
  2. Hopefully the ride ops on Banshee will figure out the row 4 thing. On opening day the gentleman riding next to my wife was SO close to not getting fastened in. He asked the ride op if there was a larger seat and was tole they were all the same.
  3. Dropkick Murphys Shipping Off to Boston for queue music. Love it!
  4. PS, anyone sees a guy in a black t shirt that says Indy Race Parts in green that's me. Would like to meet a few folks today and put faces with names.
  5. Whatever it is the mechanics are focusing on the brakes entering the station. Cycling empty again ATM.
  6. Oh to have a job which does not require I keep that dreaded phone with me even while at the park (and on vacation, while sleeping and every other moment I'm "off"). For those of you who can leave the phone in the car, count your blessings. There may come a day when your professional life requires you be at the disposal of your employees nearly 24/7. Some of us who can be seen talking on the phone or with our "nose buried in it" are to be pitied, not abhorred.
  7. I don't know if it really classifies as "cute" but.. My wife and I spend the weekend closest to Halloween at KI every year. We were married on Halloween so it is our annual anniversary mini-vacation. Fog, monsters and holding hands during a crisp fall night ride on The Beast..does it get any more romantic than that?
  8. I'm hoping this nostalgia trend works it's way north over the next couple of years. I have a strong hunch that it will but you can't be certain.
  9. Rodger was a very nice man. I've been fortunate to meet many drivers. When I worked at Thom McAn, I waited on Rick Mears. He was very unassuming and pretty low key. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I need to spring for badges one of these days. I've been attending every year since 1990 at this point and have never been in the pits during the month of May. Past few years I have had a race the Friday and Saturday before the 500 so I haven't even been able to camp. I may have a ride lined up for the Hoosier Hundred at the fairgrounds next year so camping may be back on the radar. I am right there with you on the reverance of the place. There is nowhere like it in the world (although Eldora comes close). I still get goosebumps and a little misty eyed every time Mr. Neighbors graces us with Back Home Again in Indiana. The 2005 race was even my wife and I's first official date and the first live race of any kind she attended. There have been a lot of changes over the years and not all good but it is and will always be The Greatest Spectacle in Racing and a place that has shaped my life. OK, small world stuff continues. Your cousin wasn't Ray by any chance was he? Sounds like maybe we need a KIC IMS get together
  10. My wife and I did the platinum thing for 2013 ad it was great. Made my first trip to CP since 2000 and my wife's first trip since shortly after. Truth be told, we ended up spending more time there this year then we did at KI. While it will never replace my beloved home park, I can see why people fall in love with The Point. Carowinds is definitely worth the drive too. My wife ended up being sent to Charlotte for a week long work training so I took some time off and we hit Carowinds over haunt. In my opinion it's not as great as KI or CP but is a quaint little park that is well worth the drive. Make good use of the Platinum! Even seeing only 3 CF parks it is amazing totally different experience each park is. Also have to ask since you are an Indiana guy..what track do you visit in the month of May. I have a guess but could be wrong..
  11. This article gives me a good deal of hope for the future of KI and the other CF parks. Plus it was cool to see a picture of my friend Megan looking all official with her division of the park in the article . While I love me some big 'ol coasters I appreciate the "whole package" in a park and am a huge dark ride junkie. To me Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was as much fun as my first ride on Gatekeeper, Intimidator or Maverick this year, just a different kind of fun. I'm hoping that next years install at Canada's Wonderland will start a resurgance of the dark ride chain wide and new flats. Cedar Fair has already proven that coasters will still be on the menu and I doubt that will change. The only thing I wasn't super thrilled with was the statement that they are not a "theming" company. Theming is another thing that makes the park for me.
  12. Chances are quite good my wife and I will be there opening day barring other conflict.
  13. never mind, covered elsewhere
  14. Wouldn't miss the Eagles for certain. Thats one of the things I am most excited about honestly. So many childhood memories...
