  1. Thanks IndyGuy. I am a big time "talker" haha. While in line I always chat up the person next to me, and 9 times out of 10 they say something about my "southern drawl". Unfortunately it looks like I may not be going back to Kings Island like I had planned, unless I want to make the trip alone, hubby and I are not seeing eye to eye at the moment.
  2. Thanks guys. Oh, and I'm sorry about the "y'all" in my original post. I am from far Eastern Ky, I try not to type the way I talk but it's hard I sound like a pure hick, but I promise I am actually a college educated, IT support/computer repair person. One of very few females who go into that line of work around here. I've been going to KI since I was a little girl, really wish I lived closer. I am thinking I will probably go on Friday 5/24. Maybe I will see some of you there.
  3. Nope, not military. I assume there will be a big crowd pretty much either day. We do plan to buy Fast Lane (since we only get one day)
  4. I was wondering if y'all can help me decide when to make our one and only return trip to Kings Island? We have 2 options: This Sunday 5/19 when the Bradys will be there, and next Friday 5/24 which is Military gets in free day. Unfortunately, those are our only 2 options due to babysitting issues. So from those who get to go often: Which day is more likely to be less crowded? Keep in mind it's a 4 hour drive ONE WAY for me so I definitely want to be sure to make the most of my day without a horrible crowd and hours in lines.
  5. Possibly! I did have my KICentral Shirt on, so I would think you would have spotted me! I'm sorry, unfortunately I wasn't paying much attention to detail that day. I was very busy with a 6 yr old who wanted to ride everything he could possibly get on and a 10 yr old who was terrified of everything and wouldn't even get on the small stuff. The hubby and I are going to try to head back without the kids either this Saturday or Sunday. I dread the 4 hour drive there, but love the park, so it's worth it! It's usually only 2 visits per year for us.
  6. I was there on 5/14 also. Loved how short the lines were. Almost every ride was a walk on (granted we did not get to ride any coasters since it was a day for our kids) They had a great time! Who knows, we may have crossed paths some time during the day
  7. I have to say I don't think it's that expensive. I took a group of 5 (2 kids 3 adults) for the entire day at the park on about $350. Now keep in mind that is including $100 in gas for my guzzling SUV for the nearly 500 mile round trip. So $250 for parking, admission, food for 5 of us is really not that expensive, and we really enjoyed our day.
  8. For someone like me who lives 4 hours away from Kings Island and only gets 1-2 visits per year, Fast Lane passes are worth it. We are not rich by any means, but in order for us to really get the most out of our day there, we invested in them. It was so great to be able to ride all we wanted and squeeze as much into one day as possible without standing in line for the majority of our day. Now, if we lived closer and could visit more often, we probably wouldn't fool with the passes. Not to mention we drive 4 hours there, stay in the park all day and then drive 4 hours back home. If I'm going to make that long trip, I want it to be worth it
  9. Firehawk is a ride that I just simply do not like, but I'm sure it's a favorite for alot of people. I wouldn't want to get rid of it, or any other ride. Kings Island is great in that it has something for everyone.
  10. So, you wouldn't read anything I posted? I tend to "lurk around" and only add if i have something I can contribute to the conversation. That way I don't drive people crazy lol
  11. Being the mom of 2 boys (ages 9 and 5) I would have to say Nickelodeon. My kids really knew all the Nick characters and wanted to take pics with them when they saw them in the park. The only characters they recognize now are Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Of course, each person is entitled to their own opinion and either theme is fine. Kings Island still has the very best kids area around!
  12. Thanks for the info. I love Kings Island, but I can't get to go as much as I'd like. Any inside coaster info you can give me would be nice, especially considering the 2 bruizes I've found today haha. Also I made the mistake of sitting in the very last seat on Adventure Express and I swear it was really rough! I'm guessing I should avoid the very back seat on wooden coasters?
  13. You're welcome? haha Yeah, we bounced back and forth between it and The Beast. Plus I was kinda terrified of DB at first.
  14. It changed a few times throughout the day, but the first time we went to ride it, which was around 3:00 pm, it had a 90 min wait, and the line was actually backed up past the "test seat" out front.
