  1. I think it was cool that Firehawk had a record year this year as I really love that ride. In fact, I've ridden it more this year than any year since I started doing ride counts in 2010.
  2. I heard about this; my college youth group leader at my church is somehow related to knows one of the guys (I think it's his brother or brother-in-law or something...) and he told me in class recently. EDIT: It's actually one of his friends.
  3. I know the parade at least occurred in '06 because it was my first year working in Food and I remember the parade passed by on our stand (It's Fried/Midway Treats and Eats, now known as Coney Potato Works) often. EDIT: "We're kickin' it all over town, this party's getting out of bounds..."
  4. That looks so cool; I think that would definitely ride this if I ever went to Knott's!
  5. Ryan, I'd like to both agree and disagree with you. First off, I loved the Nick Central/Hanna Barbara incarnation of the kid's area and I definitely remember crawling through the tubes in that maze thing (not the water maze, the one like they have at McDonalds) when it was Splat City. I actually remember wondering where it went when they took it out one day. On the other hand, I am finally used to Planet Snoopy and actually think it's great for kids as every attraction is unified under one banner. For those who know me well, I usually don't do well with change (hence why I only took 5 rides on The Bat this year, and it was only thanks to a little help and encouragement from two KICers (and Banshee being down) that I took more than 1 ride on it this season), and it took me a while to get used to Planet Snoopy, but I think it's pretty good. As for Splash Dance, I've done it a few times and have gotten even more soaked than I have riding White Water Canyon. On the other hand, I think I'll only miss it a little bit because I'm excited for the Eagles (yes, I know they are called Woodstock's Gliders, but I think I'll refer to them as the Eagles ). Also, I never knew the point of the original Green Slime Zone was to avoid getting wet. Overall, good stuff Ryan, but I think we'll agree to disagree about Planet Snoopy.
  6. HOW?! I demand to know how it is possible to not like bacon! I'm just a picky eater, that's all. I don't really remember why I don't like it, but I think it had to do with it being too crunchy (and also me not liking the taste).
  7. But more importantly, what does the fox say? In all seriousness, I don't know anything about the cow talk, but I do know that Sam offered me some bacon on my second time through his place (of which I refused, for I do not like bacon.).
  8. That video is really cool; I didn't know there was that much of a backstory to the video; I always just thought it was a cool video. Also, were the parts where Mr. Christopher says something about a publicity stunt for an amusement park's latest attraction and the crop circles that look like loops edited in after the Outer Limits content was removed? EDIT: Never mind, I just realized that was only an excerpt of the video...
  9. I chose Fury 325 (though Rougarou, Thunderbird and Wicked Cyclone also look good), Cedar Point, and Six Flags Great America. EDIT: My second place choice would be Voyage to the Iron Reef (not yet listed) because it looks awesome! After this would be Rougarou, Wicked Cyclone and Thunderbird. Theme park answers remain the same.
  10. I love Mystery Mine; glad you enjoyed it! Did you get a chance to ride any Tennessee Tornado or Thunderhead?
  11. I finally crunched the numbers tonight and the following are this season's (and some all time) results: -My most ridden coaster this year was Banshee with 21 rides. This was followed by a tie for 2nd place between Adventure Express and Vortex (16 rides each!) and Beast in 3rd place with 14 rides! -My most ridden flat was Drop Tower for the third year in a row (even with it being down at the start of the season) with 9 rides. This is closely followed by a surprising three-way tie for 2nd place: Boo Blasters, Viking Fury and Zephyr (5 rides each). Delirium is in 3rd place with 4 rides. -There were 4 rides that I didn't ride at all this season. They were Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown; WindSeeker, Woodstock's Express and Xtreme Skyflyer. -The most watched show is The Boyz are Back (shocking, I know ) with 13 times -For the first time, there is a 2-way tie for the most times going through a Haunt maze; I went through both Slaughter House and Club Blood twice this Haunt season. Finally, I'd like to make some general remarks about my all-time ride (coaster) count highs: Adventure Express is still #1 (in ride counts, that is) with 64 recorded rides since I started counting in 2010. Despite riding The Bat only 5 times this year, it is still the all time #2 most ridden coaster at 53 rides. Vortex is #3 at 51 all-time rides. For those wondering how Banshee stacks up, she's in 9th place, but that's only because she's the newest KI coaster. I apologize if this is super long, but I really enjoyed finding out these results and more importantly, had a great 2014 season both working and playing at Kings Island! Here's to 2015!
  12. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk No problem; glad I could help!
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kXLuAvw84g Found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Trl_LTRtKHI Part 2 Also, I've been trying to find the show where Fred Flintstone dances with a carrot (as Terpy remembers), but I can't seem to find it anywhere... EDIT: Actually, I think I found the correct show from this video, but it doesn't show him dancing with a carrot (link is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruoRNC6m8dM- show starts at 4:31)
  14. Mostly, I think the park looks great as it is, but I definitely think that Flight of Fear should be repainted (or something) as my last few rides on it have been pretty rough (hence one of the reasons I didn't ride it on Closing Day). Also, I think the waterfall in Tower Gardens should be restored, even though it's now known as a smoking area. Other than this, I have no other ideas.
  15. I really like this idea of a live production of Charlie Brown's Christmas; that would be really cool. I was too young (and in some years, not even alive) to experience KI's first Winterfest and I didn't go to the 2005 revival of the event, but I do think another Winterfest revival could be an interesting idea. To reference MagentaLizard's post, I was thinking the "something special" could be a holiday Cirque-esque performance. I mean, we have Skeleton Crew for Haunt, right? Why not have a winter Cirque show. I'm sure that would draw people to the event. Also, Flight of Fear could be open and maybe be themed as a sleigh ride or something. Just some thoughts...
  16. The Off-Season is upon us...

  17. My thoughts on this... In all seriousness, I loved that show 'cause it was great music from my childhood and I really hoped it would come back for another season. Oh well, it was great while it lasted. In other news, I'm glad Cirque is coming back! EDIT: I probably shouldn't have been so soon to jump to conclusions as we still don't know if The Boyz are Back will be back next year. Still, if it was just a 1-year show, my thoughts would be reflected above. If it's any consolation, I immediately thought of you when I saw that Boyz Are Back wouldn't be returning. Thanks Ryan EDIT: In answer to Silver2005's question, some of this year's Playlist Live! songs included Brave (Sara Bareilles), Still Into You (Paramore), Higher Ground (Stevie Wonder), Ain't No Other Man (Christiana Aguilera), Walking on Broken Glass (Annie Lennox), Something Happened on the Way to Heaven (Phil Collins), Shining Star (Earth Wind and Fire) and I want you back (Jackson 5); that's all I can think of for now. Most of these are from the 9:00 show, otherwise known as the third set, because that was the only Playlist Live show time I attended because of Brave!
  18. My thoughts on this... In all seriousness, I loved that show 'cause it was great music from my childhood and I really hoped it would come back for another season. 19. I personally am not a huge Flying Eagles fan (I only remember riding them once when I was younger and don't remember much, plus the Stricker's Grove eagles didn't do much for me), however, I knew a ton of people on the site would go crazy (in a good way) if we got some, so I'm happy for them. Although I didn't care much for the eagles, I will give them another try to see what so many people see in these types of rides.
  20. Agreed, it's been a great season; I was actually starting to get sort-of sad last night while working because I knew it (at the time, "it" was Haunt) was going to be over soon and I'd miss some co-workers I'd befriended during Haunt. Now that the season's over, I'm not sad, but happy that I got to end the season riding just about all the rides I wanted to plus I finished the season with a night ride on The Bat with a first-time rider.
  21. I'll break it down by category: New Coaster Credit: Banshee, followed by Thunder Run New Haunt Credit: Slaughter House: Reloaded, followed by Club Blood New Water Slide Credit: Deep Water Dive (Kentucky Kingdom) That's all I've got for now...
  22. This season has been amazing for me. First off, Banshee is incredible and a much needed addition to the park. Working Opening Day was a blast as well as was working SpiritSong and Haunt (especially Freak Street!- I originally wanted to work Rivertown during Haunt so I could easily refer people to Sam's place, but I ended up loving working on Freak Street as well). I also got to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and the "Best Job Ever" video for work. Outside of work, I conquered 6 mazes during Haunt (included doing 2 twice during the Haunt season) and completed The Core (all unchanged rides from 2001 and before) for the second time in my life! So, yeah, you could say it's been a great season for me!
  23. This is awesome; wonder what it will be?
  24. It's all good; this is the first year I've seen it so it may have been a clown character in the past
  25. I know there is a Scareactor this year that shakes something (not a clown though); I remember him being in Rivertown the few first weeks of Haunt.
