  1. While walking through Freak Street on Friday night, I found this one-liner from a female Scareactor amusing: "Are you alone? You know you die when you're alone". Also, when I went through Cornstalkers that same night, some of the Scareactors were targeting this little kid that was behind me and the kid was like "don't scare me, scare him" and the Scareactor was like "I'm going to scare you" (or something like that, don't remember the exact dialogue).
  2. Thank you sir! As you know, I don't like getting scared, but I was willing to give some of the mazes a try last night; mainly because I didn't break my record two weeks ago.
  3. Had a great time at Haunt last night... I did 6 mazes, including 5 new ones. In doing so, I beat two records- doing more than 1 maze by myself (as in, with people I didn't know) and most new mazes (and overall mazes) done in a night (previous records were both 3 respectively) :)

This might be confusing, but what I mean was, my previous record for doing mazes by myself (with people I didn't know) was previously 1 (new record is 5 or 6, depending on if you count Slaughter House, which I did two weeks ago), most overall mazes (previous record was 3, did 6) and most new mazes (previous record was 3, did 5). :)

  4. I'm going to update my answer and still say that Slaughter House is the best! Club Blood is a close second, but it was a lot scarier the second time through.
  5. Just got back from Haunt tonight and had a blast! I did 6 mazes tonight (yes, 6!) including 5 that I've never done before. The new ones were Carnevil (which wasn't too bad), Board to Death (which was actually really scary as some of the rooms were super dark), Killmart (which was cool), Cornstalkers (not too bad) and Club Blood (which I did twice- the first time was like a party, the 2nd time was a bit scarier). I also saw Blood Drums and Skeleton Crew and rode Firehawk, Banshee, Bat, Vortex and Boo Blasters. Before/during my second round of Club Blood, I learned the hard way about telling the greeters that you don't like to be scared (or even asking "How scary is it"), even in passing. As I mentioned before, the second time through Club Blood was a bit scarier than the first as I told the lady at the entrance, "I don't like being scared, but I do like to party". Oh well, you live and learn. But seriously, I had an amazing time tonight and it was great to see all the roamers, including two of my friends. EDIT: In addition to the 5 new mazes, I did Slaughter House to see Sam and afterwards gained the courage to do Killmart.
  6. I used two of the interactive maps tonight during Haunt and I must say, they are pretty nifty.
  7. When I saw that there was a trademark for "Voyage to the Iron Reef", I thought it could be a new 3D movie. When I actually went to the site where the trademark is and saw all its applicable uses, I thought it could possibly an event of some sort (I don't what kind of event though). However, it could also be a ride.
  8. I never got to ride Phantom Theater (it looked too scary when I'd walk by when I was little), but if it was around today, I'd probably give it a try. I enjoyed reading the articles, especially the scene-by-scene article that described the ride.
  9. Good stuff homestar. I went to SFGAm back in '08 and had a blast. Glad you enjoyed Viper as that was one of my favorites when I was there.
  10. I may have mentioned my seat preferences before, but I'll gladly do it again: Banshee: back row, furthest right Adventure Express: 2nd to last row in back car OR front seat Vortex: 7-1 or 7-2 Invertigo: Back (dropping backwards first) Beast: I like the very front, but as long as its not a wheel seat, doesn't matter to me (though I tend to sit towards the front or middle) Firehawk: Doesn't matter, but the very back is cool as you get to see the rest of the train during the loop.
  11. Well, since I only did one on Friday (hoping to go again so I can do two Haunt mazes like I had planned- I got too chicken/tired to go through with said plans), I'd have to go with Slaughter House. Sam is cool as always, and the set design looked good too (although I'll admit I pretty much almost ran through the second half...). In the end, though, it was fun and I'd consider doing it again! EDIT: Sorry, didn't know scare zones were included... Freak Street is my favorite as this is where I'm usually placed when sweeping for Haunt, plus I know two of the Scareactors.
  12. Oh, there were plenty! I meant that we were only two non-scareactors in the house. .
  13. Yeah, on FunTV it said ride wait times were 0 minutes! In fact, Malem and I were the only two people in Slaughter House when we went to visit Sam earlier in the evening.
  14. I know exactly how that is... I went to a private college before transferring to the school I'm at now and there was little to no Wi-Fi on campus. I remember having to plug my computer in with a cable to be able to access the Web (and this was in 2009). Although I do enjoy retro technology, I think Wi-Fi is a necessity in today's world; especially on college campuses as some professors use sites to allow students to turn in their homework online.
  15. I went to Indy a few years ago with two of my friends and we stayed at the same hotel where GenCon was being held. We didn't attend (we went to the Indy Zoo and did some other stuff in the city), but it was an unexpected surprise as none of us knew about the event beforehand.
  16. Check this out: 4 new rides (2 "new" rides, two brand new ones) + T3! http://www.kentuckykingdom.com/attractions/thrill/
  17. Waiting for Superman by Daughtry is probably my favorite song to hear at KI. I love it when that song comes on! Other good songs include "Battleships" (also Daughtry), "My Kind of Love" (Emeli Sande), "Lessons in Love" (Neon Trees), "Best Song Ever" (One Direction), "La La La" (Sam Smith/Naughty Boy), "Brave" (Sara Barillies) and "Love Runs Out" (OneRepublic); "That's what makes you Beautiful" (One Direction) was one of my favorites last season. I'm sure there are lots of other great songs that haven't been mentioned. As for songs that remind me of KI that aren't necessarily played at the park, I've been playing "Crank it like a Chainsaw" and "Zombie" by Family Force 5 to get pumped for Haunt. I started doing this last season while driving to the park for my Haunt shifts. I even have a Haunt Mix on my phone that includes the two aforementioned songs plus "Freakshow" and "Not Gonna Die" by Skillet and "We are Machines", which is a song from last season's Blood Drums.
  18. I would have counted Rolling Thunder as 1 credit (even if I would have just ridden one side), but would have specified which side I rode as I do for Racer, Gemini and other racing coasters. I just thought about a possible exception to my racing coaster rule... mobius racers. I suppose Racer at Kennywood would be 1/2 a credit for each side (equaling a full coaster credit) since their racer (as in, racing coaster, not the ride) has one track and not two separate tracks. And you do this even though after the first drop, Rolling Thunder's two sides were completely different until they approached the brake runs? One would have a hill where the other dropped, etc. Yes, I would. I would also counting dueling coasters as one credit, but specify in my list which side I've ridden. An exception to this rule would be Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom as RCDB counts the ride(s) as two separate coasters (http://rcdb.com/1868.htm). In that case, I'd have to count each ride as a separate credit. EDIT: Another tough case would be Battlestar Galactica at Universal Studios Singapore, which consists of two different coaster track types dueling each other (inverted vs. sit-down). I'm not sure whether I'd count this as one credit or two as it is a dueling coaster yet the tracks that are dueling are completely different ride styles.
  19. I would have counted Rolling Thunder as 1 credit (even if I would have just ridden one side), but would have specified which side I rode as I do for Racer, Gemini and other racing coasters. 20. Personally, I'm not going to count Rougarou as a new credit; I didn't count Son of Beast as a new credit when it lost its loop. However, I did make the distinction in my list I keep that I rode it both with the loop and without the loop. Same thing when the right side of The Racer's train was turned from backwards to forwards. So, just like Son of Beast, I'd make it a point to say that I rode Mantis/Rougarou with both the stand-up and floorless trains (and not actually make Mantis and Rougarou separate credits). When thinking on this question shortly after the announcement, I came to my above conclusion as I know there are some coasters in Japan that have both a stand-up and sit-down train. If I rode both of the trains while at the park, I'd count the coaster as one credit, not two different credits because one train is stand-up and one is sit-down. *EDIT: Also, even though I've only ridden one side of Thunder Road at Carowinds, I still count this as a full credit (not a half credit); but again, like Son of Beast and the Backwards Racer, I did make a note in my list that I've only ridden the left side of Thunder Road.
  21. Oh my gosh, yes... it's actually happening! This means that in 2015, 2 new coaster types that I've never ridden before are now closer to me than they previously were (the other coaster type would be a Vekoma SLC, which will (hopefully) be realized as T3 at Kentucky Kingdom)!
  22. I also miss the CP DJ's; especially in line for Millennium Force.
  23. My Mean Streak experience has varied... it's been from not bad (more than 5 years ago) to super-rough (5 years ago) to pretty good (on my June visit). So, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder and depends on the day. The last time I rode I was thinking of this song quote: "I'm not where I want to be, but I'm not where I used to be" (KJ-52, Brand New Day). This quote sums up how I currently feel about Mean Streak as those last rides were much better than the super rough version of Mean Streak from 5 years ago, but I think the ride's experience could be slightly improved. Edit: I modified the song lyric because I quoted it wrong
  24. "... you already knowwww"! lol (Sorry, um, just finishing the song up!) But seriously... I don't know what to think about Mantis's future. It was my first stand-up coaster, but at the same time, it's always been an... interesting ride. If the floorless rumors and re-paint do come into fruition, that'd be cool as I've never been on a floorless coaster before. I did figure out a strange coincidence as I was talking to a friend of mine today about the subject: when the rumors came about Flight Deck becoming The Bat, I made sure to sit in the front seat for my last ride on Closing Day. Interestingly enough, when I went to Cedar Point in June, I rode Mantis in the very front (and this was before I knew about or thought about any Mantis rumors). Is this a foreshadowing of things to come?
  25. As I mentioned in a similar thread, I would not want to see any of the wooden coasters at Kings Island turned into Rocky Mountain Coasters hybrid coasters* (although turning Woodstock Express into a hybrid could be interesting as RMC hasn't yet built a family hybrid coaster...). However, I would be open to the idea of RMC adding an original hybrid coaster at Kings Island. And while we are on the subject, I'm picturing a RMC re-vamp of Son of Beast as having a twisted inverted dive drop (like Medusa Steel Coaster at Six Flags Mexico) that would replace the turn going into the big drop was came after the lift. *EDIT: After further thought, I don't think I'd mind if Woodstock Express became an RMC Hybrid. However, I still think The Beast and Racer should remain wooden.
