  1. This sounds pretty cool; I'd like to go to the Jurassic Park showing
  2. I was wondering the same thing. Is it a diversion? But seriously, though, I'm wondering what this post/tweet is about...
  3. Busy Day at the park, but a night ride on Adventure Express made it all worth it! :)

  4. At the Festhaus, I like LaRosa's cheese pizza, bread sticks and Mac n' cheese, plus I will sometimes get Vanilla Dippin' Dots. Subway sandwiches and hotdogs from Skyline are also good
  5. First off, I do think this "diversion" will be a roller coaster. Also, from looking at those two rectangular holes in the third picture (they are near the bottom of the construction site and point towards Drop Tower and Skyflier), it makes me think the track could be dipping below ground level before doing a cobra roll, top hat, or a hairpin turn (as it looks like the holes aren't that far from each other). I don't know if this is what this spot is for or not, but that's just what it looks like to me. EDIT: The holes are also seen in the first and fourth pictures, pointing towards Skyflier's giant arch. If you are looking at what I'm looking at where the square concrete patch is with the three "holes", that would be the slab of concrete where SOB's final helix cables were attached to. The holes I'm referring to are in Thunder Alley's old site, pointing towards Skyflier.

  7. Yesterday was an amazing day at the park; Flight of Fear was awesome with its dimmed lights :)

  8. At rides, locker rentals have different prices by the hour and locker size. The lowest price (regular size, 1 or 2 hour rental (not sure how long) is $2. Also, another change that has occurred since you last visited is that Invertigo (Formally known as Face/Off) has been repainted from yellow track and red supports to a turquoise-ish blue track and blue supports. Enjoy your day at the park
  9. The ziplock bags sound like a great idea; thanks for the tip

    Your Music Taste

Arrgh, check out this cover of a classic pirate song:
  11. As others have mentioned, a fanny pack is an excellent idea; I use one when I go to theme parks and it suits me just fine. If you do plan on using a fanny pack, you'll still probably want to buy a locker when preparing to go on water rides or Firehawk. Although a fanny pack can be worn on Firehawk (I've done it once), I don't recommend it as the contents may fly around (no pun intended) during the barrel rolls.
  12. When I was riding Adventure Express today, I saw some black tarp and noticed that trucks were working in the area.

    Your Music Taste

I listen to a little bit of everything... I like a lot of Christian rock, but I also listen to the type of music they'd play on mainstream radio (pop/hip-hop/techno music). EDIT: I also like music from the 90's and early 2000's
  14. For lunch, I recommend Festhaus- it has a lot of options (pizza, mac 'n cheese, burgers, even Chinese food) and the LaRosa's pizza is amazing. For ride recommendations, try to ride all the big coasters (Vortex, Beast, Diamondback, Racer, etc.) plus Drop Tower and, if it's warm enough, any of the water rides. As others have said, if you do want to ride Firehawk, make sure to get there first thing as the line moves pretty slow. Also, lockers for loose articles are $2 (I think they are still $2?) at Firehawk's entrance (there are lockers at other rides, but this is especially important as Firehawk is a flying coaster that will turn you upside-down while you are laying down!) Finally, have fun and thanks for visiting Kings Island!
  15. What happened in 1996? Outer Limits: Flight of Fear. Thanks, Terp. I just didn't know if something else was being referred to.
  16. Great pics; I'm going to The Point in about a month and this makes me so pumped to ride Gatekeeper EDIT: ... and all the other awesome rides CP has to offer
  17. My favorite ride at KI? Invertigo. I haven't got to ride it yet this season, so my favorite so far would probably be Flight Deck.
  18. I just thought of something... didn't Kings Dominion remove El Dorado (a Chance Falling Star) to put in their WindSeeker? So, maybe since we know Holiday World had a ride called "Banshee" that was the same ride type, is this possibly a clue that we might be getting El Dorado? I'm thinking it won't be called Banshee (that sounds like a coaster name), but still. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but it's just a thought...
  19. Here are my rankings: 1. Invertigo 2. Flight Deck 3. Racer 4. Flight of Fear 5. Beast 6. Diamondback 7. Adventure Express 8. Vortex 9. Woodstock 10. Backlot 11. Firehawk 12. Flying Ace -Great Pumpkin isn't included because it's a kiddie coaster that I haven't ridden in years. Also, I do not consider Surf Dog a roller coaster.
  20. I actually thought this was pretty cool. I really enjoyed the music in Action Zone; it gave the area sort-of a dance club feel. EDIT: I do agree, though, that the music by Delirium was a bit too loud (but it was cool nonetheless).
  21. The Reds grill looks great; I didn't get to eat there yesterday but I did take a look around and they had some really cool stuff. I was impressed and I'm not even that much of a sports fan! Although this is true, I do know they had some issues yesterday.
  22. Thanks for the trip report; yesterday was a great day
  23. When I was there today (from about 9:30-3:15-ish), it was pretty busy, but started to get much busier after about 10:30.
  24. It was a great Opening Day today; I really enjoyed meeting fellow KIC'ers :)
