I saw Effial Tower testing sometime within the past week. Less than a month until Opening Day!

If Backlot did get a revamp, I would love to see spinning cars and/or motorcyle trains added (with a possible retheme, or course).
Will that happen? Probably not, but I could see the ride be given some kind of TLC once The Vortex plot is filled.

Wicked Twister. Especially now that it’s gone. Also, Invertigo is a (unique) variation on a common layout (Vekoma Boomerang) while Wicked Twister is part of a model that didn’t have much precedent (except for Volcano, of course).

Channel 12 talked abut Adventure Port this morning… the repainted Coke Freestyle building looks cool

Also the loudness of the lift hill... can't speak for that one but I know Firehawk had a lift that was pretty darn loud though I don't think that was one of the reasons it was removed.
see also Son of Beast and Steel Vengeance...

I love that green color scheme! That would be cool if a smaller park (like Kentucky Kingdom) got something like this.

And those who didn’t “get it” either weren’t used to it or just didn’t care for LARP. If you go to a Disney or Universal park, (heck throw in Knott’s), you have a lot of characters that walk around and talk to guests. If you’re used to this kinda stuff, it doesn’t phase you but if you aren’t, it can get uncomfortable. At least with costumed characters like Snoopy, Charlie Brown, etc they don’t speak so it takes some of the awkwardness out of it. I once knew someone who got uncomfortable at the local Renaissance fair because of the LARP aspect.
I can see that. IIRC, that kind of situations did weird me out at times when I was younger.

According to some FB sites, it was mentioned during the Q & A session on Saturday the decision to close FF was lack of guest participation.
That's an interesting reason... although I very much enjoyed Forbidden Frontier when I went to CP in 2019 (in fact, that was one of the only reasons I went!), I heard it had mixed reviews (per Guest Services when I went to tell them how awesome it was). I very much enjoyed the interactive element - it was what I like about Haunt, but instead of being scared, you get to socialize with the island residents and have fun. Otis, Cheeks (I think that was his name? at one point a lot of us (guests) were in some house interacting with him and it felt like Haunt lol) and Luca were pretty cool; every one of the cast members there did a fantastic job. However, I can understand if people didn't "get it".

I'm seeing a lot of "NOs" on that list... No more Forbidden Frontier, No more Chic-Fil-A. I wonder if they are planning to develop on the land that Forbidden Frontier (and Shoot the Rapids) sat on... Also, what is Wild Turnip?

Thanks for the update!
They took the Iron Dragon track out... interesting...

Just read this on Screamscape; sounds pretty cool. I also saw the Scream and Goliath will be celebrating anniversaries this year (20th and 23rd respectively)… I love it when parks honor/acknowledge ride anniversaries!

At first I didn't like the paint job, but seeing the whole thing, it looks nice. Also, all those bright colors really make the (brown) roof stand out.

I wouldn’t mind the idea of paid advertising on the billboards if it was done right. For example: a Coca-Cola billboard that already ties into their partnership with the park. Other ideas could be a billboard promoting Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, Skyline Chili, etc.
That reminds me of those Santa/Coke billboards they have during Winterfest (located in the area that will soon become Adventure Port). And, yes, I do think that would be pretty creative; I also like the idea of the team (person?) behind the billboards for Antique Autos doing some for Backlot.
On another note, after watching a video of Tron Lightcyle/Run at Disney, it would be really cool if Backlot got motorcycle seats (yes, I know I wanted spinning seats at one time, but these would be cool too - and probably more realistic!).

I worked in Food, Park Services and Entertainment (Haunt). I love the park and enjoyed my time working there. I was in Food 5 years and Park Services 5 years, and between the two, I enjoyed Park Services more. The job may not be the most glamourous (sweeping around the park (and perhaps cleaning restrooms)), but it's great to be able to walk around the park and the department as a whole was great too. Working Haunt was awesome as well! I had zero scaring experince coming into the position (I don't even watch horror movies lol), but once I got in the groove, it was a ton of fun!

It would be cool to see the 4D theater make a return (I enjoyed it when I was younger), but Urgent Scare/Hotel St. Michelle are good (seasonal) replacements.

It looks like Red Racer’s retrack is coming along very nicely from the webcams. On the other hand, though, it appears that no progress has been made on Diamondback’s repaint since Winterfest. A few areas of the track had been repainted near the station in December, but that seems to be it. Maybe Baynum Solutions is focusing on other projects before getting back to Diamondback.
Ok, so I totally thought they were almost done painting Diamondback (as I keep seeing the "new" mushroom brown support color everywhere - I get a great view of Diamondback when driving home from church)... guess not! My bad...

If they go with Mack Rides, I wouldn't mind seeing a different experience in the back car. DC Rivals has backwards facings seats on the last car. Steel Taipan and ICON having spinning seats on the last car.
Yes plesse! I watched a video of Steel Taipan a few years ago and that back seat looks insane! However, like my idea/wish to add spinning cars to Backlot, that back car might be too intense for a lot of people.

That wooden shuttle (in the works before Covid) would have cool and unique, but I’m glad (more specifically, I’m hoping) this addition isn’t talking down Possessed in the process (like the wooden shuttle would have).

Perhaps the area where the concrete was removed will be usaged for signage or a small stage?

You had better get some Skyline Chili if you're not from around here or you're missing out big time.
On the note of local food, LaRosas's and Graeters are also popular favorties.

So, I finally started reading the book tonight. Just finished the first chapter (and the two intro sections before this) and I already love it! It's well written, easy to read (as in, I'm not having to grab a dictionary every two seconds, unlike other books I've read) and the reading experience is both exciting and nostalgic. Great job @KIghostguy! Also, great integration of the interviews thus far (it reminds me a lot of a similar book I read called Slimed about the early days of Nickelodeon) I am looking forward to learning more as I go!
