  1. I feel bad for Big Dipper. By the time somebody buys that ride, the only thing that will be good is the chain lift. Maybe Oiment or whatever his name is will bring back Geauga Lake one day.
  2. I agree with you Brian. I mean when SOB was built, at the time it overshadowed The Beast because of it's size and speed. However, I'm sure the ratings for it were low though because all the complaints it had over the years. I think it would be Awesome seeing an Gravity Group wooden roller coaster come in and bring some popularity back to that side of the park. Plus Kings Island has three wooden roller coaster that are traditional. Seeing another wooden roller coaster come that is completely different from the three would be Ideal.
  3. Gravity Group. We need another top 5 roller coaster to fill SOB void. Something similar to Voyage, but fills the old layout of SOB.
  4. ^ What I meant is for Kings Island to build something similar to El Toro or Voyage.
  5. I know Intamin makes wooden roller coasters. I would be just as excited to see Intamin come in with a new wooden roller coaster the same way if Gravity Group were to come in and build another wooden roller coaster. Either one would be a big improvement over SOB. Plus since Cedar Point is up north, I think it would be neat for Kings Island to build something that Cedar Point doesn't have such as a Voyage or El Toro wooden roller coaster.
  6. So that means Don reads this forum and or asks guest opinions of what would be a great new addition for the park and then goes to Cedar Fair?
  7. Is that something Don and Cedar Fair have to agree on as far as a new roller coaster?
  8. I would love to see Gravity Group come in and build another wooden roller coaster, but not sure if Don would agree to it since I asked him on the other thread if he would ever consider putting in a Maverick type roller coaster and he said no way because he doesn't have that kind of money. So based off of that answer, this makes me think that to build a roller coaster similar to Voyage would cost as much as Maverick cost. Does anyone have the money figures of how much the two roller coasters cost?
  9. Don, have you ever considered building a roller coaster like Maverick? Those Intamin style roller coasters are Awesome!
  10. I'm hoping for a Gravity Group wooden roller coaster. Something similar to Voyage, but this time bring back the loop.
  11. I guess that means this topic is almost dead. The only thing that remains is the station.
  12. They're not completely done yet. We still have to talk about them tearing out the footers.
  13. My question is, If they decided to keep SOB station for the Haunt instead of using it again for a new ride, would that old SOB station be in the way of a Future roller coaster?
  14. Yeah now that SOB is gone, I feel like they should build another wooden roller coaster to replace it. It just looks too empty without that big lift hill standing there. Anybody else agree that it looks empty?
  15. Department47, Russ was probably referring to my post one time when I said I would love to see a Floorless go in SOB place. That's my mistake, he might want the same thing that I'm hoping for. The second type of roller coaster I wouldn't mind seeing would be a Gravity group type of roller coaster similar to Voyage at Holiday World. I'm sure with that design, they could throw a loop in there along with some 90 degree turns.
  16. Don't mean to quote you, but I'm a little confused over BM? Did you mean to say B&M?
  17. I think Kings Island needs another new ride to show up in the skyline. With the loss of SOB, the only rides people see from the highway is Diamondback, Eiffel Tower, and WindSeeker. So hopefully the next roller coaster that is built becomes a record breaker like SOB was. I'm not saying build another wooden roller coaster, but if they want to, go right ahead. I think this would be a great time for improving the foundations by building something the state of Ohio doesn't have yet. My vote would be a Floorless roller coaster!
  18. Speaking of skylines, was this picture taken over a cornfield? Just curious?
  19. Since they are knocking big sections down one at a time, how long does it take them to clean up that section that fell? Also do they take that wood somewhere off-site so they can make plaques that people want to buy?
  20. I find this odd that they would retire Vortex in the future considering it was nominated on the Travel channel for looping roller coaster. Hopefully if they retire it, they re-build it by a different manufacturer. Does anybody make looping roller coasters anymore?
  21. Hopefully if they are building a whole new wooden roller coaster, they leave part of the 1st hill up and work out a new layout from there. I would love if they put in a new generation wooden roller coaster similar to El Toro which has the per-fabricated track.
  22. Anybody have inside access of knowing whether or not the rose bowl is gone yet? I know the park is closed now, but the last update I saw showed maybe 20 ft of track left on the rose bowl.
  23. Now i know you guys said that Don said that he wants SOB to look like it never existed, but what if they kept just the station? This way the new roller coaster can go into it and they save some money on removing steel. I'm sure whatever they plan on building they can alter the new ride in that station. I'm still hoping a ride like Maverick goes in SOB spot. Maybe the world's longest of it's type.
