  1. Anyone remember or have animal magnets like these? I got them back from Kings Island back in 1998 or 1999. My friend also had some, though I can't quite remember what animals they were. I'm curious if anyone else has similar ones and if so I'd love to see them!
  2. Invertigo. I've never ridden it once and have no interest in riding it. It is kind of fun to see when you first arrive at the park though.
  3. It still brings in big lines. This summer when I went it took me about an hour to get on Diamondback. The line was even longer later in the day.
  4. RIP Vortex. It was my first experience with a looping coaster, and for a long time it was my favorite roller coaster. But in recent years it was just too painful to go on. The last time I rode on it I was screaming in pain instead of having fun and I decided I wouldn't get on it again. Still sad to see it go though. I still remember when there would be a huge line for it.
  5. Saw this post on twitter. I've always stopped by that shop and looked at some of the more unconventional flavors, but I'm not brave enough to try them! So I'm wondering if any of you have, and if so which flavor did you have and did you like it?
  6. It's very painful to me. I still like the ride, but I have to lift my feet a little off the bottom so they're not bumping anything while I ride otherwise it roughs me up too much. I really enjoy riding a roller coaster through the forest, otherwise I probably would have stopped going on it a while ago. I always ride in the front.
  7. Yeah, unfortunately not. I've been looking up blueberry ice cream and I keep getting results for ice cream with actual blueberries in it. No, you fools - I don't want real blueberries, I want artificial blueberries!
  8. I think it's blueberry? It definitely has a berryish taste to it in my opinion. Edit: I just looked it up and it is blueberry!
  9. I love the blue ice cream, but unfortunately I can only make the trip about once a year. Are there any store bought ice creams that taste similar?
  10. I was at Kings Island yesterday and this event was a lot of fun! Usually in the evenings I start to get really tired and my legs start to hurt but I want to keep going because I don't want to feel like I'm just sitting around. This was a great way to sit around and still have fun at the park.
  11. Thanks for the pics! Looks like a fun show. Here's the only picture I have from the show... It's just Shaggy. Anyone recognize him or what show he was from?
  12. Anyone have pics from the old Scooby-Doo show back in the early 2000s? I'm looking for info on it so any help would be appreciated!
  13. I rode it a few times yesterday. The ride was a lot of fun, it was a nice addition to the park. I don't think they should have advertised the shed quite as heavily. I guess I didn't really get it, it seemed like it was just random CGI monsters popping out on the screen. The ride itself was great though.
  14. It was mostly white and it said Kings Island on the top. Then it had the title Ren and Stimpy on it I believe (I don't have it now so I can't take a picture of it unfortunately.) The font was in green. It had a picture of Ren on one side and Stimpy on the other.
  15. Anyone know where I could find something like this? I tried ebay but I couldn't find anything. I tried looking up Kings Island Nickelodeon towel and all kinds of different combinations, but I got nothing. I had one for years, but for some reason my mom decided to use it to wipe paint thinner and then throw it out. Pretty unhappy right now.
  16. Vortex used to be my favorite ride in the whole park, but when I rode it this summer I decided that would be my last ride on it. No one even bothered asking the usual "welcome back riders, how was your ride?" because everyone was groaning in pain. I never did get a chance to go on Son of Beast, but it never really interested me all that much.
  17. The first time I got to go to Kings Island again after many years of not being able to go, back in 2009. I nearly cried. I was so happy to see it again, I thought it was something that would never happen.
  18. I just ate there yesterday. The grilled cheese donut was just as good as I remember. One thing they should bring to the KI menu is their dipper option - it's just a very small cup of soup, enough to dip your sandwich in. I was glad they included potato chips with your sandwich, at the Pickerington location they never did that.
  19. We used to have a Tom and Chee here in Pickerington, but it shut. I didn't get to eat there too many times due to the price, but really the only things worth eating there were the grilled cheese donut and the beer cheese soup. I loved those so much! I wish they included the beer cheese soup in the Kings Island one. In my opinion, their tomato soup wasn't very good, which is disappointing since I normally love tomato soup. Hopefully the one at Kings Island is better. I'm going to try out the s'mores donut when I go to Kings Island next Sunday. I never got to try that one while ours was open. I hope it's good.
  20. Seems like someone made a bomb threat, but they didn't find anything: http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/cincinnati-zoo-evacuated-after-threat
  21. Wow, I drive to that area all the time to shop at Bath and Body Works since it's the closest one to where I live. I never knew Fort Rapids was that close, even though I'd always see it from the highway. Years ago when I was around 10, I visited the hotel back when it was a Holiday Inn (I think). It had a really nice indoor pool with skylights and you could see the entire hotel lit up at night. I never got to visit it when it was Fort Rapids.
  22. For its first several years, it didn't even have seat belts. It doesn't need seat belts because the lap bar has two redundant locking mechanisms. The seat belts were added later, presumably in response to an unrelated incident at another park. And if the lap bar were to fail completely, someone here on KIC alleged a while back that a sack of potatoes would come back to the station still in its seat without a lap bar. Some believe that. Some do not. But it's something to think about. Yeah I know, I rode it many times without the seatbelt. I didn't mind it. I just wondered if something were to happen if it would actually help or if it was just a peace-of-mind thing. I have my doubts that someone would be able to stay in their seat with no restraint. For instance, when you stop as you're about to go into the station, sometimes that's so abrupt that I can imagine that alone would throw you out of your seat if there was nothing there to hold you in.
  23. I always wonder if the seatbelt would actually do much in the event of the lapbar failing. Would they really keep you in your seat going downhill? It's kind of loose on me. (Not that I want them to change the seatbelts, I trust the lapbar. I'm just curious.)
  24. My mom is still angry that my dad took me on a kid roller coaster when I was 7 years old, because I said "I'm scared" once before we got on. I ended up loving it and I love coasters a lot to this day. When I tell her this, she says "you're just saying that because you don't want to upset him!" (Never mind that I'm 28 now and I go to Kings Island by myself and ride on the roller coasters because I like them. Even though I was scared that first time it's a fond memory now.) There will always be parents who push their kids too much and parents who don't push their kids enough. So it's a good policy to have in place, to see if a kid genuinely wants to ride despite being scared or not.
  25. Really? That's strange. I wonder why it's so tight on me then. I'm on the smallish side so you would think it wouldn't be a problem.
