That light package is amazing. I thought Banshee's was top notch, but this takes the cake! Props to Kings Island!
If we learned from Banshee, then we know we probably have about 1 year worth of all of this lighting working before it starts to go bad. Note that now next to none of Banshee's lighting works now.

huh, this post didn't age well.

I wanna bet it might be White water Canyon.

Former Employee of Banshee/Diamondback and also a little bit of Maverick! (I also operated numerous other rides part-time through the park) Got any questions let me know!

I love how with Banshee the park was very strict about people taking photos and videos on the property (Specifically the pick up/drop off area) But this year they haven't said a word about it, and I see a lot of people using that this year.

Vortex.

Son of Beast and Diamondback operated together for roughly 2 months. I always forget that fact.

I've kinda threw out there that I think a copperhead type of ride would work well in that area. I get that Backlot is right there, but I think the park could do with a new launch coaster. Or they could use Mack with a lift hill.

I'm hopeful to see closure and the park releasing a video within the next few days. I know the park is celebrating Orion's first test runs and achievements, but some closure is needed on Vortex still.
Just think... Orion tested while parts of Vortex were still standing tall.- 8

Banshee's POV was done about a week or two before the park opened to the public to give you an idea.

I mean, The Park can contact the FAA, and then you answer to the FAA.

148 track pieces in 149 days!

I think they will be finished with track work by the last week of January, Afterwards the entire month of February and March will be the bulk of the testing phases. Trains are already arriving at the park, and I would not doubt that most of the electronic equipment has been completed. With the exception of the Trim Brake on the Big Hill.

The one thing I got out of that was exactly how the construction site looked, and also when the ride may be topped off (Which I'm thinking tomorrow morning) I saw the piece ready to go at the bottom of the brake run with Great White ready to hoist it up.

That original concept would have been fun, and interesting experience which would be very unique today if Cedar Fair would have kept it given the merger.

It vibrates a lot, but I wouldn't call it rough. And there's not much you can do about the MCBR. The way it works, it has to stay there until the train in the unload station is clear, so if you have a slow unload like it tends to do, its likely to stop there, which is awkward in the first 2 cars.
Other than that, I enjoy it a bunch still.
That's actually false. There is one block before Unload that can be used if a train is still at unload.

I feel like these pictures perfectly show how much Orion’s drop is near vertical compared to Leviathan’s drop already. I can not wait to see more drop installed and how much of the hill will be 85°. I actually remember most renderings saying that the drop would only be a maximum 80° if I remember correctly I think some said 78° no one thought it would be 85°. Which is kinda nice to know since that is one thing the blueprints didn’t tell us.
No renderings or anything ever told us how steep it would be. Only thing announcing the angle of decent is from Dayton Daily News and that was 85°

Has anyone considered maybe the park would hold off on topping off until opening weekend for Winterfest so they can attract crowds for it?
Doubt it, construction schedule wouldn't make sense to do that. It'll most likely be done this week.

Safe to say it's probably nearly the same height as Diamondback currently.

When they get the next piece of supports together and add it to the track, that can be left free-standing as the track is supporting the support, and vise-versa. It's the crown that will have to be placed together with both cranes for support and to bolt down.
