  1. ^ It's the Kind of Kings Island we know and love, not plopping a RMC everywhere, or just a ride anywhere without any thought of nostalgia. I'm looking at you SIX...
  2. I have been visiting constantly since 2010. I visited once in maybe 2005 or 2006 I don't remember. So It's been a good while.
  3. I think with Ride Operators announcing safety spiels over the microphone, it'll probably drown out people talking from the exit. Plus with (I think) The plan of having no-bins in the Station will limit the option of guests hearing. You'd probably have to really listen. You have the train right next to the station. Diamondback's first drop isn't far away.... Ride Operator talking? You're probably not going to hear a whole lot.
  4. I think I counted 513 when I attempted to do the count. Not exactly sure on that number though.
  5. Because Don SAID that no one has correctly guessed.
  6. Don said on the Facebook Live video that it's going to separate Mystic Timbers from any wooden roller coaster... So what has not been done on a wooden roller coaster before? (Other than a Drop track, do not mention Drop Track, it's not happening.) Not only that. No one has STILL correctly guessed what is in the shed.
  7. ^ They can still get into trouble, as they are sticking an insecure object outside of the bars of the platform. I've honestly tried searching for the law myself, and I have yet to find anything about video recording or photography on rides. But since the park is displaying the warnings and directions (1711.551 B-3) as a rule that you cannot take video/photography on rides, then it's breaking the law.
  8. The animation doesn't show anything. I wouldn't trust the animation for anything, as it's for a look at how the ride will (more or less) run with.
  9. Mystic Timbers is operating with three trains. Some questions you guys seem to be asking can probably be revealed either on GCI's website, or the KI, MT webpage.
  10. Honestly. If they end up putting a 300+ Foot Ride, it will be the first roller coaster visible from Kings Island by I-75 (You can currently see Eiffel Tower, and that's about it.)
  11. I was actually wondering that myself when I first looked at that section. What they may do is re-route the end of the platform to make it a Mystic Exit, as well as a train exit. Most of that back platform doesn't get used for anything. By the way, that building on the platform looks to be a photo booth, so somewhere (I'm going to guess either the first drop at the bottom, or before/during/after the tunnel. is where the picture will be taken from. OR It's taken in the shed.
  12. They more than likely will have the gate-system like at Kings Island's Railroad crossing for White Water Canyon. Or maybe a typical cross guard that will stop traffic. (With a security guard in place.) Or if you've ever go into Soak City Entrance at Kings Island? Possibly have it like that. Speed bumps that will make cars slow down (That are bolted to the ground.) But in this case, they may be permanent.
  13. Can we get options for many rides? Such as Banshee, (Beast Again, maybe a new one?) Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, Eiffel Tower/International Street?
  14. Helbig approved. https://twitter.com/DonHelbig
  15. Don Posted a second photo himself on his own twitter pag https://twitter.com/DonHelbig
  16. ^ Since it has been the Holidays, with Christmas, New Years, Etc. There more than likely was no construction to the ride done in the recent weeks. Work will probably pick up today though.
  17. I have dreamed of driving Vortex since I was 11. It may not happen this year (given that I get a job), but if/when it does it will literally be a dream come true!! Just remember you are not allowed to drive roller coasters until you are at least 18 years old. Happy Riding!
  18. I worked as a Ride Operator this past summer, I'm not sure exactly all what I can state, so I am going to be as simple as possible about everything. 1.) It's alright, It depends on the department, if you're in Food Services you really have to have a positive attitude 24/7 or you are not going to enjoy your job at all. As for Ride Operators, it's pretty good. You can go about giving guests high fives, and much else including getting a train excited before the train leaves and after it returns. 2.) I heard that admissions was 14, but they're spotty about it, Everyone else has told me you could not work admissions at 14, but it's alright. 15 is the age for most locations in the park (most) and then if you're 16 you can work in Ride Operations and Life Guarding, as well as a few other spots. Once you're 18 you're more opened up with your schedule. (Such as you are not allowed to fully operate roller coasters, (Aka: The associate in the box where the controls are Until you're 18.) 3.) You get to pick your rides for your second year of working at the park, but not your first. You get a choice of rides. If you love kids, then you'd definitely be interested in one of the 'Pie' areas of the park, which is the Planet Snoopy area of the park. Yes you can go to other rides and get trained and such for those rides if you're interested. (As such with me, I was trained at Banshee, Beast, and Diamondback just to name a few.) 4.) Current pay is 8.25 an hour, But you can only work 60 hours a week (with no overtime, Seasonal Job) and you are not allowed to work Nine (9) days in a row. Meaning you can only work 8 days at a time, then you must have your 9th day off. 5.) Yes you do, Each train of every roller coaster is tested every morning, as well as all other rides of the park. 6.) Most certainly yes! Come join us it's a lot of fun!
  19. How about Viking Fury at Kings Island for Southern Star at Carowinds?
  20. There were always trim brakes on Beast... They're just magnetic trims instead of skid brakes which is what they used before.
  21. By the way, This wouldn't be terribly difficult to do, at least design wise. Replacing wise is where this would become a challenge.
  22. I'm mainly adding onto the ideas when some detailed explanation. One thing that can begin is with the lift hill. Make it steeped, not faster, but steeped on it's rise. In crease the drop angle to allow more space for the ride to use before the first turn. Red is original, Blue is new design. (Rough sketching.) In doing so, you create enough space to have a new little ejector airtime hill to the ride (Which may also increase the length by a marginal amount.) On the Shed run before going into the next tunnel, you can easily turn that into a double-down, and increase the baking of the turn (No image available.) If enough people like the ideas I'm giving out, I'm more than willing to design the entire ride. I need something to do anyways!
