  1. Kings Island is nearly 50 years old and is seen a lot of changes over its years. What do you think has been the biggest change to the park cosmetically? I would say that there are three big ones to me: The removal of the original antique cars back in 2004 the return changing a huge part of the Coney Mall Midway in 2019 The numerous changes that have happened to the Action Zone over the years, the first one being getting rid of the animals, removing king cobra, adding more flat rides, the building and later removing Son of Beast, the many different name changes and paint schemes that resulted in the Cedar Fair buy back in 2006, and finally the addition of Banshee replacing Son of Beast in 2014. Finally, and I would argue the biggeet cosmetic change, would be the addition of Diamondback. DB changed almost the whole area of Rivertown with the removal of Swan Lake, the removal of the Mining Company, the removal of the trees in the valley by the train trestle, and the altering of The Beast path. What do you think was the biggest cosmetic change the park has ever had?
  2. This isn't average nerdness... ...this is, advanced nerdness
  3. The Jukebox Diner is right acorss from Shake Rattle and Roll and has a 50's feel. The old Flight Commander pad and que, the Dinos merchandise tent, the Ice refil station, Peach Basket along with a chunk of the Coney Mall midway were torn out to make room for the Antique Cars. Basically everything between Killmart and the bathrooms next to WindSeeker is gone.
  4. I found a cool list about which coasters should/ should not be rmc'd https://www.thecoasterkings.com/10-coasters-that-should-be-rmcd-and-10-that-shouldnt/ If any Cedar Fair park should get the next RMC treatment it should be Canada's Wonderland but with the edition of YS, we might have to wait a bit- however there are rumors going around about Mighty Canadian Minebuster getting RMC'd
  5. Define good? GCI- Prowler, Renegade, Thunderhead, Gold Striker, Mystic Timbers, InvadR GG- Hades 360, Switchback, Mine Blower, and The Voyage if you count that one as wooden.
  6. Great Christmas gift to yourself https://www.redbubble.com/people/coasterfan/works/35386209-single-rider?asc=u and for @NoChickens & @Mrs. No Chickens https://www.redbubble.com/people/coasterfan/works/33593944-no-chickens?asc=u&ref=recent-owner
  7. Took a page from @Hawaiian Coasters 325 and @Maverick44 and made a Gerstlauer indoor/outdoor concept
  8. Any speculation on what you guys think will be on the billboards throughout the course of the ride?
  9. "Beastmode" was often referenced on KI's Snapchat Also Don doesn't really have a say in the naming of rides
  10. I think flying coasters are awesome and far from gimmicky but that's my opinion
  11. @BoddaH1994 I completely agree with what you're saying, I didn't have a problem with the train ride I was just a little let down in comparison to all the stuff they did around the park. The train ride at the zoo is always a favorite of mine, especially since I got to operate it during the 2015 Festival Lights
  12. You can also see the same train on the trestle due to a camera delay, you can tell its the same train because the other one is parked in the engine house since the railroad used to have open coach tracks.
  13. And Diamondback is almost consistently ranked in the Top 10 Steel Coasters in the World list by the Golden Ticket Awards
  14. The curve was way to tight for those trains to navigate- even with them being narrow gauge. There was a derailment that resulted in one of the engines going through the curve. I believe Crown Metal Products- the company who built the trains and the railroad- advised against such a tight curve but the park added it anyway. They also had to worry about the houses seen in the bottom of the left picture.
  15. I think adding a smaller scale coaster- like a 4d freespin or a spinning coaster wouldn't be bad additions to the park. Both designs have come a long way since their original conception to the point where they're built on much larger scales. Cobra's Curse and Time Traveler look like awesome spinning coasters, same can be said about the S&S free spin clones. I've said it once and I'll say it again- add this!
  16. To be fair, these are all cloned rides, just on a larger scale. Paramount gave us great flats- Cedar Fair gave us great coasters
  17. Paramount- dreamers not the doers. If I'm being honest, when you hire the worst coaster company ever to build the first ever looping hyper wooden coaster you got a problem.
  18. Everything. Unfortunately, trains are transport rides nowadays. The only few parks that operate non-transport steam locomotives that I can think of are Worlds of Fun, Dollywood, and Knott's.
  19. @NewD4y20, you asked us for our thoughts and opinions so please don't bash us just because you don't agree with them. Like what @silver2005 said, 4d coasters are fun rides, though I cannot fully back it up since I've never ridden one yet. The only thing I have against s&s 4d freespins is that they are all clones, which is fine for a chain like Six Flags or even Sea World, but not for Cedar Fair parks.
  20. Ironic isn't it? In all honesty KI would have a pretty full roster after a giga, however... Realistically something from Mack wouldn't be out of the question, especially if its a spinning coaster since the park doesn't have one of those. As to where, if they removed BLSC I wouldn't mind as much but they could also use other areas of the park. I honestly don't see anything from Gerstlauer as their Infinity coasters make arrow loopers somewhat obsolete. I know @chugh43 and I wouldn't mind a 4d free spin but it would have to be on a much larger scale to keep up with KI's attendance.
  21. Hurts don't it? Everyone knows the basic knowledge of the Miami valley railroad- I always try to dig deeper when I do my chapters. Maybe I'll do it but it'll take a while
