  1. Makes me wonder what they might have had planned for that piece of track. Does anyone remember that section of track that was laying in the plot of land that it stood on that was there for a hot minute? I had this image in my head they were keeping it for a future theming piece for whatever takes Vortex’s spot. Probably a stretch. But it’s a nice thought that something might stand as a reminder of the past. And seeing as they did a memorial for SoB in the Banshee que, I feel it’s possible. But who knows.

  2. Anyone else notice while waiting for the front/front half of The Bat that there is a new bull gear cog? The old one was solid but this one has openings through it.

I thought this was interesting since as long as I can remember, the coaster has had a solid bull gear cog.

It also seems like the lift motor is quieter than I remember. I distinctly remember the lift motor having a much louder presence in the station.

  3. Yesterday was rough for sure. My girlfriend and I decided to go for a little bit later in the day and it was crazy how many things were down when we got there around 5PM. People were line jumping like crazy. The whole park just felt like it was in disarray. I’m not angry with the park at all as it’s still early in the season, but I was upset with guest behavior.

  4. Imagine if a Son of Beast reboot actually were to happen. The storyline could be a fun one with him being gone since 2009, found in the wild and recaptured, coming back with an even greater ferocity to be free again after having a taste of it for the last 13 years ( tack on more years to that if a resurrection were to come to life ).

This of course pertains to if they decided to use the old station for a resurrection or if they decide to use it for anything at all other than a haunt.

I suppose only time will tell if it will always stand as a reminder of what was or if it will ever be home to something incredible.

  5. It's still surreal that it's gone. I look at the piece of track that I have and it still doesn't feel real even though it very much is the reality. It's exciting to think and discuss what the future holds for the space it occupied, but the sting of its absence is still felt. Another season of going to the park and not seeing the majestic old Arrow doing its acrobatics is still strange.

So family at KI for their 1 trip of the year On a Saturday.  Mom and 8 year old likes some rides but not the big ones, but 14yo and Dad want go big and go fast.   (My youngest was this way until 10).   So your solution is the whole family must wait in long lines and only get a few in all day or all must purchase FL+ even though 2 members won’t use it to the full extent?  OK.

Yep. That is exactly what I am saying. And it would not be FL+, it would just be FL. So yep.

  7. You mean like how FL originally debuted as a single option add on? I’m one of those strange folks that keeps ticket stubs and my old FL wristbands and I still have one of the very first FL wristbands. I never really understood the tier system considering if you’re going to pay extra for it, why wouldn’t you want them all?

  8. You pretty much answered your own question. They are seeing this as just another job/paycheck. I’m sure one of them is saying that they used to like the ride. But a majority of the crew are just seeing an old steel structure that has to go. Just like when Riverfront Stadium was demolished, I’m sure it might’ve been the same thing. Memories of Reds/Bengals games, but in the end it’s just an outdated building/structure.

It wasn’t a question in regards to the crew so much as if other members on the forum have had a similar thought. So I did not answer my own question. I cannot answer for other forum members.

  9. Anyone ever wonder what goes through the minds of the crew that tears down these historical structures? Like, I understand there are probably some who have zero feelings or thoughts about it since it’s just another job/pay check, but I can’t imagine there not being a single person feeling sad about tearing down so many memories. And very likely I’d imagine there has to be at least one member on the crew with their own memories of the ride.

That always crosses my mind any time these types of demolitions occur.

  10. All I know is that the minute the park decides to sell off her orange and blue bones, I need to be informed so I may add her alongside my SoB plaque.

Also, I would not be surprised if somehow the park gave a nod to the past like they did for SoB when Banshee opened. Can’t rule out the possibilities. I could see a sweet Vortex marker nearby whatever goes in her place.

  11. Funny enough, even after all of these years of riding and getting on the biggest baddest of what the human imagination can currently conceive realistically, I find FoF to be one of those rare experiences where no matter how many times I’ve ridden it, I still find myself brimmed with excitement when lining up for it. There is something magical about walking up into that UFO and watching those classic space themed trains take off into the darkness. The sound of the LIMs will be imprinted in my mind for as long as I live. There simply aren’t any other rides I can think of that give me the same feeling of excitement and. FoF is a unique gem for that.
