  1. How busy do you all think Pass Holder Preview Day will be this year? With it being later in the day? I still suspect it will be pretty busy seeing as it's PPD and with it being an evening thing, a lot of folks might just come through after work. But then I see it as because its later in the day it may not be as busy as past years. Knowing Kings Island fans though, it'll be busy.

  2. Another food place definitely would have been ideal. Like some of you, I like to treat myself on a rare occasion to an adult beverage, especially if its a specialty collab beer with say Sonder ( Blue Ice Cream/Strawberry Funnel Cake) or the likes. But otherwise, I don't care to spend $13+ on a drink that I can get much cheaper elsewhere. It will be interesting to see how much business this gets.

  3. 1) Sol Spin

    2) Drop Tower

    3) Delirium

Sol Spin is just so much fun and easy to ride. I enjoy the fact that is just forceful enough to be thrilling but not so much to where its uncomfortable. Plus the overall feeling of being able to put your arms and legs out and fly is just awesome. Drop Tower has always been fun. Hardly anyone I know wants to ride it with me so its usually one I go alone on because it freaks too many people out. But I like it for the view and the awesome seconds of weightlessness during the drop. Delirium is just a good time.

I believe that's what Busch Gardens does with their concerts. It makes me wonder if CF learned from KI's concert series back in 2022 which KI charged extra for the concerts and didn't include park admission and decided to make the concerts at Carowinds free with park admission.

It would be awesome if this became a trend across the CF parks that have the means to do it.

It's funny that everything seemed to think that Top Gun (now The Bat) was going to be removed. I am actually surprised that Xtreme Skyflyers is still operating.

I'll make a prediction if we are talking the next coaster removal, it's gotta be Invertigo.

(Watch me be wrong in 10 years when it's still there!)

Invertigo will outlive your grandchildren's grandchildren mwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

  6. Really hate that this seems to have become an opening day tradition at a lot of parks here in recent years. People can't seem to go anywhere anymore without the possibility of being shot or getting caught up in some kind of altercation. Sad. Makes me wonder what KI's opening day will be like this year seeing as there was an incident last year that was thankfully apprehended before anything harmful could occur.

I wouldn't be surprised if parks start doing active shooter training regularly since this is becoming so commonplace.

Luckily, the Kings Island GM saw this Thread. They reached out to Knott's. They talked to the GM at Knotts to rectify the situation. Hopefully this covers the training issues at the parking tolls at Knott's and other CF parks as well.

Definitely needs to be more consistency and reiteration on what is and what isn't across the board. There maybe things "subject to change" at any time. We know this. But the overall base understanding needs to be crystal clear across the board because this kind of confusion simply isn't it. When you go from having a Platinum pass with minimal to no confusion at all to a "same but different" pass set up that all of a sudden seems to be giving less benefits but advertised to work similarly to the previous pass type...yeah. You get where I'm going.

One can only hope there will be more clarity and formality chain-wide without so much "this benefit works here but not there".

As long as people renew their passes with all this degradation, they will continue to cut.

    Here's the 2025 entertainment announcement:

New for 2025! Kings Island will amaze guests by turning on the royal fountain for three minutes each hour from June 20- July 1!*

*Conditions subject to change with or without notice.

Also New for 2025! "Toilet Plungers!"-an interactive guest experience where you can join the custodial team first thing in the morning by gearing up for a clogged up good time! Get the VIP treatment by getting behind the scenes tours of the park's latrines, waste systems and how the park manages backed up toilets and sinks!

*May be subject to hazardous waste and must sign a waiver with blood type and a hair folicle. All Parks Passport does not apply*

  9. And I am in the minority here, but I hope she has some years left in her to stick around awhile longer. Especially with being the last one of its kind in the states. It is one of the more intense ride experiences at the park and personally, I feel, one of the better older Vekomas still operating.

I was wondering why there's not really any merch for Top Gun/Flight Deck/The Bat? Found pictures of this shirt online but don't see it for sale anywhere unfortunately. Flight Deck is what it always was when I was a kid and that is a really cool T-shirt design!

There were definitely more merch options this past season for The Bat. I know they made a really cool 30th Anniversary mug that had little bats on the inside. They also had a 30th Anniversary enamel pin and of they had those outrageously expensive ( but cool ) socks. I think I remember seeing a t-shirt or two. Not a ton of merch, but more than I have seen in a minute.

I’m honestly surprised they’re still keeping Vortex around.

Same. I've had that very same thought myself. Could be a number of things. Keeping a "vintage" stand-up around for posterity? Converting it to a floorless may not be worth the cost to popularity ratio? Or maybe they are planning on taking it out all-together sometime soon-ish. Anything could be possible I suppose.

  12. It depends on the ride. For example, something like Orion/Millie and even Mysti are incredibly too easy to marathon without any issues for me. But I can't marathon a coaster with inversions. I marathoned Banshee on Media Day and that was the last time I did that. I can manage maybe 2X in a row on a coaster with inversions, but any more than that and I am done. The only exception to the rule on marathoning inverting coasters has been with RMC hybrids. For some reason they don't bother me the way other types of inverting coasters do. The only thing RMC hybrids do that would make me tap out are the punishment the lap bars give

Great idea. That’s actually using corporate synergy in a smart way, so it will never happen. This bubble show feels like something at a really impressive trade show. I’ve seen at Dollywood and thought “what a waste of a great theatre” and here we are again. It’s pretty cool, but it just doesn’t need to be in the “main” theatre.

This is the kind of show that would be more fitting in the evening on the bandstand. I feel this would fit that kind of space more appropriately as well as engage the crowd. Kids would be into it. Play some fun music. Have some lights. Like most of you were saying, this kind of show is a terrible waste of the main theater.

Bring back cirque. Or something that really utilizes the KI Theater in such a way that makes the audience forget where they are for 30-45mins.
