  1. These are neat little pins. I don't know how many folks collect them anymore, but they're neat little throwback-esque type items.
  2. And I have seen this argument many times on here that it would affect the good kids. Yes, that would really suck for them, but imagine how all the good kids feel about it at WoF. Now they can no longer attend the park without an adult figure because it got dangerously out of hand. But its a necessary precaution. Nothing is fool-proof, but effort has to be made before someone gets seriously hurt or killed. That is the reality we are living in today. Folks need to remember that today's world does not operate the same as it did 20-30+ years ago. And in the line of work I do, I see it daily among other things the GP doesn't see or experience. I take safety incredibly serious. And the truth of the matter is that in any case where an umbrella policy is put into action, there will be some hurt feelings by non-offenders, but it is in place to assist in prevention and ultimately create a safer environment. Until something better can come into play here, this might be what needs to occur.
  3. As someone who has also ducked through the turnstiles I will at least make sure I am not cutting in front of anyone when I've done it in the past. I hate to sound like one of those people who thinks more rules are the answer, but I really think its time to lay down the bottom line to get things in some kind of order/compliance. If people want to line cut, let it be known they will be escorted from the park. Period. Zero tolerance. Might sound harsh but since it has gotten so out of hand, showing folks that the park takes it seriously might make folks think twice about cutting in line. That, along with a chaperone policy I think would help weed out a lot of the issues the park has been dealing with. It all might sound very locked down, but truthfully at this rate I feel it might be for the best. None of us pay the kind of money we do each season to put up with ridiculous behavior from others. The park should be a fun, safe and enjoyable space for all and those who can't follow the rules will reap what they sow. Also, I noticed on Saturday that they were incredibly verbal and far more strict about phones. I heard them mention multiple times during the pre-spiel before dispatching trains about not having phones out on the rides. And Sunday, a woman sitting in the bench seat on the carousel took out her phone to take a picture of her child sitting sitting atop one of the horses and the ride ops stopped the ride before it could even really get going. They spoke to her about not having her phone out while the ride was in motion, allowed her to snap a picture while the ride was stopped and then restarted the ride.
  4. When my group and I were headed to Orion, we saw what appeared to be one person attempting to distract the line attendant so the others in the group could walk through the FL line. My group and I all have all season/all parks FL so we were trying to walk towards that line-up and saw this happening. The line attendant finally caught on to what was happening and had them re-route to the regular line. The disrespect is in abundance out there. I felt bad because the line attendant was trying to give good customer service but was being duped.
  5. I rode it Sunday and although I found it to be smoother, I still think it would have been even more so had I ridden it when it was warmer. It was pretty chilly out on Sunday so it definitely felt a bit more rigid. Still fun though and I will re-ride again.
  6. Best ride I've EVER had on MT was Pride Night of last year. It ran so fast I could not even begin to keep up with it's transitions. I wasn't the only one who noticed it either. I ride MT the most out of all the coasters in the park as it is my favorite in the park and I have had some pretty incredible rides on it the last few years but that ride experience in particular will always stand out as the most insane one I've had to date. As far as opening weekend went, I had a lot of fun. I noticed a lot of the things other folks on here are saying as well, but it didn't stop me from having a good time. If I had but one complaint the entire time it was the incredibly lackluster food I received Saturday at Jukebox. I ordered a patty melt and the bun was a charcoal briquette and the burgers were insanely greasy. I realize that they were busy and again, opening weekend/new staff, etc, however I was really dissatisfied with the way my order came out. I am hoping that won't be a repeat occurrence. Ride-ops were super friendly and accommodating which I always appreciate as I always like to politely ask for certain seats when possible on certain coasters and they 99.9% of the time always grant my request which is awesome. Just be kind to folks. It goes a long way. I always try to treat everyone with kindness since without the staff we literally would not have a park. I felt the merch game really stepped up this season. Loved seeing all the new stuff and the wider variety for all tastes available. Overall, good weekend. I know it was already asked, but does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going on with The Bat, Delirium and Drop Tower? I know Drop Tower was down for the count due to a lightening strike last season but I was surprised to still see it down still. Seats uncovered and all. And I was wondering if possibly Delirium was now awaiting a part from Germany since I've noticed it goes down every few years because of a part it requires from overseas. And I was curious about The Bat since it's usually a fairly reliable coaster.
  7. The only reason I do not feel WF needs to open earlier in the day is because IMO, the lights are what make the atmosphere and going earlier in the day kind of defeats that purpose. We see plenty of daytime hours during regular/fall season. WF is to be enjoyed at nighttime for the lights. If for whatever reason there were to be extended hours into the daytime I feel there would need to be incentives for that as others above have stated, things have gotten a bit stale and there needs to be some new/updated experiences. I love WF, just wish to see some new fresh experiences or updated ones. One thing I would enjoy seeing would be adding some ice bumper boats. Maybe have X amount of hours for ice skating and X amount of hours for bumper boats. Or split the fountain in half and do one side for skates and the other half for boats like they do downtown Cincinnati.
  8. I will still stand firm in my vote for a new Vekoma and I feel one of their new gen multi-loopers would be a great tribute for The Vortex plot.
  9. Does anyone else remember when Fast Lane was introduced there was only one tier to choose from? I have kept all of my wrist bands over the years as little momentos and I still have the early Fast Lane wrist bands from the initial years when there was only one kind to choose from. This is truly going to be an interesting season with having the one tier FL, ASFL and one time use FL from the Prestige Pass holders.
  10. It will be interesting to hear what folks are saying about Pipeline when it officially opens to the public. I am cautiously curious about it. However, I still can't personally get behind the idea of stand-ups having a wide spread renaissance amongst parks. It's more of a novelty experience IMHO and Sea World falls into a novelty experience park, again, IMHO.
  11. I realize that SoB had a slightly longer service life than that of the original Bat, but I share your sentiments in regards to being able to say I was able to experience an "urban legend" of sorts roller coaster with that being SoB. It's cool to hear stories from those that got to experience the original Bat since there are so few folks out there in the general populous who can say they did.
  12. It will be so nice to see Diamondback with a fresh coat of paint. I know I am not the only one who has been saying for years that it needed some love. And always great to see classic coasters such as The Racer get some TLC. I really hope next year that Banshee will be the next repaint though, especially with her turning 10 in '24.
  13. This is definitely a weak early entry line-up. I'm sure they have their reasons for it, but this doesn't really justify coming into the park early for me at this time until and if they decide to add more early entry rides.
  14. It just kinda sucks that at this time there are at least three major spots that could use some love-the old TR:TR building, Vortex plot and the FX Theater. Hopefully some life will be breathed into them soon. A new dark ride experience would definitely be awesome, but I am also fine with them tearing it down if it makes way for something else instead of the empty box/sad entry way of what once was.
  15. Definitely ready and excited to kick off the season in just a few short weeks. Planning to take the day off from work for preview day. Hopefully the weather is amicable by then. Might even do opening day too, but we shall see. Either way I am fully ready to get back to the park and make some new memories this season!!!
  16. I remember thinking it was a pretty cool ride when it opened. I then found myself riding it less and less to the point of skipping it all together most seasons due to the lack of overall lackluster experience ( IMO ) it now gives paired with long lines. I found my short stint owning a real Mini Cooper S to be far more thrilling but it too has gone to the way side from my life sadly. If the park does decide to give it some form of an overhaul, I feel that could only do it more justice than leaving it in it's current state-that is unless it's slated for the great scrapyard in the sky soon. Time will tell I suppose.
  17. I feel this will be an interesting season overall. I know that the Prestige passes were available to use near the end of the season last year for those that purchased them and there were many a hiccup along the way. So my hope is that for those who purchased the Prestige passes have a smoother time this year. I also wonder if because of said Prestige passes having a one time use per visit FL ticket if that is the reason the All Season Fast Lane hasn't sold out yet. I know those tend to sell out in a relatively quick manner and I noticed that they are still available for an option to add on. Either that or maybe they have allotted more for sale?
  18. For me personally I will have to go with Firehawk and that might be more in part due to it being a piece of GL history than anything. Not to mention it was a unique experience compared to the other coasters in the park. I realize the reasons for its demise, but I think if they were to ever bring back a flying coaster, its successor from Vekoma would be a great choice seeing as there is only one of the new models in existence across the pond.
  19. I think a park themed walk-thru attraction in the style of Meow Wolf/Other World would be really cool. Abstract/digital interactive art exclusive to the park would be a really fun experience.
  20. I will say this and maybe I will be in the minority here, but I think it would be neat to see more in house type places to eat vs chain restaurants. Not saying chain eateries are bad by any means, but I like the idea of more unique opportunity to try something that is built from within instead of something you can find down the street. And that is of course if this is the direction that is being taken.
  21. Having like a point system would be great. Something tangible where you can actually see what you are earning towards certain things. For example if you say, "earn 500 points and get a free ice cream or sweet treat" say earn "5000 points and earn a free t-shirt worth x amount of dollars". Something like that. Having either a separate Cedar Fair rewards app or having something built into each park's app with the point system visible would be wonderful. Wishful thinking. *shrugs*
  22. For me personally, and I speak for no one but myself, I would rather them take their time on bringing in a new attraction rather than throw in some run of the mill kind of ride or experience ( a Larson Loop anyone? LOL ). I may be in the minority and I've stated it before, but I would absolutely love to see a new Vekoma sit down coaster in Vortex's place. Something that gives that classic looper feel but with today's technology. It probably may never happen in a Cedar Fair park, but a person can dream right? But I digress. My viewpoint is that I'm glad they're not just throwing stuff in just to say "here's something new". I'm sure we will get something amazing soon enough, but in due time. Again, just my own thought process.
  23. This season was definitely one for the books. I felt operations were really on it this season as well as the overall attention to detail and the little Easter eggs nodding to the past throughout. The concert series, the fireworks show. It was really something special this year for a lot of reasons. And as someone who attended a private event ( Pride Night ) I felt that they even went above and beyond for that as well. I'm excited to experience Haunt, Tricks & Treats Fest and Winterfest respectively to wrap up the remainder of the season to see what all they have and will do to finish out their 50th.
  24. Since the big part of my pass has been gifted to me, I am probably also going to add the dining plan to my pass as well. I know that with the prices of park food and with more regular visits planned for next season, I definitely think that will be a big money saver in the long run.
  25. Diamondback and now I feel that Banshee isn't too far behind. Those blue and bright fuchsia supports are really looking pretty dull these days.
