  1. If we're using the scale on the blue print, the station is only about 25 feet long, and I know that's not right. So let's just ignore the scale for now.
  2. Pretty sure he was talking about the PDF that got linked and deleted, but saved by two members.
  3. The footer labels match up to the MCT track perfectly as far a I can tell. Two support connections for ST4, one each for STs 5-7, and two for ST9 in the station. I'm now very confident that project MCT is for Kings Island
  4. Add me to the list please.
  5. With @Magenta Lizard's new information, this seems like a good time to bring this up. (I think it may have been posted here previously by someone, so I apologize if I have taken your information.) Looking back at track piece ST9 for project MCT, we can tell that ST9 is the entire loading station for the ride. On each side of the track just inside the rails, there are raised mounts for what I'm guessing is part of the rides restraint release. There are 8 pairs of the mounts, corresponding with 8 rows for the train. Combine with what we already know (lift spine on one end, lack of bolt holes on the other), we can say for certain that the transfer will be before the station and the trains will exit the station straight into the lift. That matches very well with what Liz described to us. Photo credit to Midway Mayhem EDIT: I also believe it will be as @fryojdescribed above.
  6. Zooming in on these pictures shares a lot of information. We can find that the grey pieces, from left to right, are labeled as follows: MCR Transfer (Hershey), MCT (here on out) ST3, ST1, ST2, ST5. Then a gap of 3 Hershey lift pieces, then continuing with ST6, MCT Transfer, ST7, ST4, a short piece unlabeled, and finally ST9. Thinking out loud, I would guess that ST1&2 will the first pieces of the final brake run, with ST3 beginning a downward slope of brakes. STs4-6 are all straight, and the brake run will level out with ST7. Moving on, we see that the short unlabeled piece has a transfer end on the near side, and thinking this piece might be ST8 isn't a rash thought. Now there are two curve pieces in the office lot with the same profile as the ST tracks, and I think a turn between ST7 and ST8 makes most sense as the track will be close to level there. Now, the transfer track is a single piece I believe. If there was a second, I think they'd be labeled transfer 1 and transfer 2. Looking at pictures and POVs, a single piece transfer also matches up with Fury and Leviathan, at around 45-50 feet long. With that said, it's not unreasonable to say that a train would be able to fit on a single piece of any of these full length pieces. So looking at ST9 (also with reason to believe this has the other transfer end), could that be our loading station track leading straight into the lift hill? I think so.
  7. Alright, after quickly sharing the picture, here are my thoughts. 1: Obviously, the extra wide spine at the near end of the track (ST9) is different and unusual. The profile of the track tie is almost identical to that of Fury and Leviathan's lift hills, as is the width of 10 bolt holes. On a similar note, this normal-to-wide transition piece appears on Leviathan directly before the track piece holding the lift hardware (image). It doesn't exist at all on Fury, as it goes straight to wide spine after the transfer track (source, pictures 237 and 240). 2. Despite what I just said about Fury, this may have a similar set up with a transfer track directly before the lift hill. Notice how there are no bolt holes at the other end of this piece and a support connection close to the end. 1 + 2 = 3: My best guess is that project MCT is indeed a giga coaster, with the understanding that B&M has not used the wide and large spine on a hyper yet. Additionally, piece ST9 will appear in the layout between a post station transfer track and the base of the lift hill. Obviously, while this makes MCT very likely a giga coaster, there is still nothing confirming that MCT is coming to King's Island. While chances are good that it is and the circumstances adding up, remember that I am just speculating.

  9. In the first few scenes of this Wodan video, you can see the crew loading the cars onto the main brake run before the transfer/storage track. I believe most GCI's follow this method because I've never seen a GCI storage shed with a door to pull trains out of. I haven't re-found any pictures or videos of this specifically yet, but there's a small cut on each side of the track on the brake run that allows for the upstop wheels to slide through, for the install or removal of each car. The gaps are normally covered by inserts to prevent the side-friction wheels from shifting into the gap (or the train somehow hoping up through the hole). https://youtu.be/8VQYBmAleGM
  10. Kentucky Kingdom has posted their 2017 operating schedule, and the most interesting thing is that KK will only be open for the State Fair on the weekends and closed on the weekdays. The last weekday they are open is August 15, with the State Fair beginning on the 17th. I guess that tells us what the Fair Board thought about last year. https://www.kentuckykingdom.com/experience/hours/
  11. Yes, the hypers and gigas are quite different. Why are you bashing them when you haven't ridden them?
  12. Saturday April 15, huh? A little surprised given it's Good Friday, but I guess that bodes well for the hopeful Renewed Passholder Preview Night on Friday.
  13. I'm not sure this warrants its own thread, so I'll ask it here. How busy was the exclusive last rides event after Sunday closing last year?
  14. Adam House (the GCI designer) said that MT was the 5th wooden, not Don or Greg. So I think we should mark that statement as an unofficial count and leave it at that.Officially, KI counts Racer as one and does count SurfDog as one. When ride wait times scroll on the FunTV, you will notice that they will list the wait time for racer S as well as the wait time for racer N.. (Which are always the same but help indicate of both are running that day).Based on this, I'd say the park considers them as two coasters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Racer is one, straight from Don: https://twitter.com/DonHelbig/status/759190940422668288

  16. Last I heard, it was still manufactured in Europe. Wow, They ship all steel track over that's crazy!! Maybe saving money? I would think that would cost more? CSF used to be just the North American plant for B&M, but now they're manufacturing and shipping all their rides worldwide too.
  17. I was there on Tuesday with CoasterForce, and we got a back stage tour of Lightning Rod. During the tour, Pete Owens (PR Don-equivalent) told us that right now the problems are with sensors and the computer, and not directly with the launch. He said the launch problems have been ironed out for the most part, so now it just seems like usual coaster growing pains.
  18. While that does fit very nicely into the park (especially that drop), aren't we seeing markers and tree painting way back by the train storage building?
  19. What Mantis^^ said. Plus Fury has a chain where Millie and I305 have the faster cable lifts, and I like that it crawls over the top and takes longer to fall than the Intamins.
  20. Knott's removed their Screamin Swing last year, CF may just be removing them, kinda like they've done with most of their HUSS Top Spins. When rides start becoming problematic they tend to just close all of them to prevent future issues..Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk I wouldn't look too much into this trend yet. Both of the Screamin Swings that CF has removed have been the small 8-person capacity model. I would bet that the big 40-person models at Valleyfair and The Point are safe.
  21. Actually, they are for brakes (picture is Behemoth, I believe). You can even see the mounts for them on the spine in the Silver Bullet picture.
  22. Isn't that the same "block" in this picture provided by stashua123 earlier today?
  23. Well from the eye of the perspective and newer members, **** like that certainly makes the KICentral community look like a bunch of assholes. A few jokes and teases, okay. But last night went way too far to the point where members could have actually went driving out of their way late at night and early in the morning to get a look. And while the reaction is divided among the community, it only takes one person to affect the image of the community. And I've discovered today that this is a community I do not want to be a part of. Bye.
  24. I'm just wondering if there is anyone from the site there at that point. Pictures or not, you would think someone would have posted by now.
