  1. The trains on New Texas Giant were made by Gerstlauer, not RMC. http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/references/reference-list/north-america/texas-giant-en-US/
  2. Goliath at SFoG gives you a very good amount of airtime. It's not Magnum ejector, but it's a surprising low end ejector or very strong floater.
  3. Take a look back a few years. Both Intimidators, Gold Striker, and Leviathan were ground broken and under construction when they were announced.
  4. The footings for the storage shed seem to show that the building will be wide enough to store three trains. 4 footings wide with 3 gaps between them.
  5. I've been 4 times in the last 3 years, this has worked flawlessly every time. As an extension of this, Dominator is one of the rides that opens right at 10 when the gates open. I've always been able to squeeze a ride in between gate opening and 10:20 when they let the Platinum and KD Gold Passholders back into the park early. For that, everybody that wants in early meets back on the path behind the Eiffel Tower (about as far back as the fork going around Backlot in KI proximity). But I would also recommend to go back to Dominator later in the day and wait for the front. You might not have the time to on the 10:00 ride. Randoms tips: As a heads up, Shockwave and Avalanche open at noon. Grizzly is very under-rated, I loved it in the back. Volcano is always worth the extra 5 minutes for the front. If you stay til close, definitely ride 305 after dark. It'll close for the fireworks similarly to The Beast
  6. I don't see how anybody can consider KI being slow at loading. I was just as Six Flags over Georgia, and everything except Dare Devil Dive (3 car operation) was sitting on the brake run for a good 2 minutes with only 2 train operation. Yeah, you can say that on Diamondback you sit for 2 minutes, but at least DBack would be dispatching a train every 90 seconds or so under 3 train. Six Flags was dispatching every 3 or 4 minutes under just 2 train operation. And honestly, before I witnessed this, I had no idea how quick KI and Cedar Fair as a whole are with ride loading. Although I will say I think Six Flags is more of the odd-ball in the situation, as most parks I've been to have similar times to Cedar Fair.
  7. So you're saying we got an Intamin in 2006 and a B&M in 1999? I must have missed something.
  8. Is anybody else thinking that the SOB area will be used for two separate projects (or half phases of a project)? I mean, we're only see major work in the Thunder Alley and King Cobra areas and only a part of the SOB area. So far, there's still an entire non-major-work area that's open between say the SOB station and the rose bowl. So quite possibly we see something else in 2015 or 2016?
  9. Long time reader, first time poster. It should also be remembered that the thickness of B&M's spines vary throughout a ride, as forces require. DBack's spine is a lot thicker at the bottom of the first drop than at the top of a hill. Also as we can see in the Gatekeeper picture above.
