Friction brakes do stop things fast, I hit the e stop on a coaster for instance and it slams into the first set of brakes and won't budge. So think on that, if you hit it in the up stroke, what if they don't stop and sit at the bottom? What if it stops and it's 10 or more feet off the ground? I'd leave it the way it is. Knowing the system if it were able to just ride stop or do a failsafe mode like an S&S tower and slowly descend or open the valves and purge the tanks except for the ride carriage and slowly release that pressure, sweet. However, the way this ride works to control that pressure like that could actually cause an issue, think if you need to purge those tanks instead of slowly releasing them.. The ride operated as intended and everything worked as expected, everyone is alive, it was a good day.

^^Good idea, see, brainstorming..I wouldn't oppose it Oh no, def. don't cut the trees down, enthusiasts would go crazy, especially the Pointbuzz ones I don't see how it would be a problem with the trees, esp. considering KD has more around it's fountains. Ah well

It doesn't to me..the person sent to the hospital was clearly not admitted then so no serious injuries or problems They will still observe the ride and all details regarding, and recertify the ride and any changes. Then CP will internally take care of this as well. The ride is in good hands.

This leads me more to believe we will get it next year. Honestly though after looking at the CW upgrade it looks fantastic with the black bottom, makes it seem deeper and a bit more majestic. Also it does hide the lights and wires for the fountains

Def agree..plus I know it's not a popular decision and doesn't fit most of the park demographic...but I would take that type of luminosity style ending you listed above at KI any day..or at least the Starlight deal at Canada's Wonderland currently..check it out of you haven't

It had metal pads in place of where the upstop wheels are..see Gemini, it still uses the brass pads

Maggie has aged well. I'd honestly think it's gotten better over the years. Ride got upstop wheels eventually, new wheels this year, new PLC, new brake controls, and probably more I have yet to notice. The PLC needs a few small tweaks but nothing crazy.

Didn't see a thread, but wondered if anyone had some news on or their thoughts on this. Discussed this last night with a few people. Canadas Wonderland got a new black bottom to the fountain, and new show at night (which is fantastic). KD I don't believe had an upgrade yet, and KI obviously is still lacking in that department... So..thoughts, speculation, ideas? We obviously got new paint on the buildings for 2014 and looks fantastic. Maybe a new fountain upgrade in 2015 to finish off the front entrance of the park?
