  1. At least when I was there this past Saturday, I don’t think it ever opened. The maintenance crew did do several test runs though. Even saw them run it without the disk spinning. It appeared to be working normally but obviously something was up or it would have opened.
  2. But like...what is the purpose in replacing 3-4 year old trains? Unless Vekoma is giving them for free I highly highly doubt they’d pay to replace already new trains
  3. ^that looks a lot like Vortex with white added lol
  4. Not sure if I’m supposed to say or not but park employees aren’t considered “the public” Chance was there and did their testing before handing it over to the park with their blessing, employees were riding at that point LOL
  5. They definitely don’t need inspectors to test. The way it was explained to me when I was helping test lightning run was we could run the thing 24/7 if we wanted. But no one from the public is allowed to ride until the inspectors sign off on it
  6. The backs of my knees quiver at the thought of a stand up. But also my junk... Chang was too much to handle.
  7. Surprised they didn’t do yellow/blue/red so it would look similar to another giga in Ohio!
  8. Not at KI, but I’ve had to stop a coaster on the lift because someone pulled out not a phone to film, but an entire iPad from under their shirt... who wants to get hit with an iPad?!
  9. Last time I rode it they had the music in the bowl up pretty loud. Was once again able to hear the dramatic music shift hanging on the MCBR that had mainly been reduced to beeps and bops when they turned it down.
  10. Heck, they haven’t removed all of the footings from the last thing that was here before Vortex.
  11. Yes this is partly true. When I worked at KK, and Lightning Run was new. I remember staying past midnight just to run that thing through cycles don’t know about a specific number but it as constantly moving for hours.
  12. ^ it is Vortex that’s the second drop right there going up to the point where it curves around to go into the double loops.
  13. It would have to be a block brake outside the unload station. The control panel is at the rear of the unload station and there is a window for the operator to see the train. I’m sure it functions to both send the train on and bring the next one in. That’s also where the transfer table is and if it wasn’t a block you wouldn’t be able to stop the train for switch position.
  14. I think the only way to make up for this is to install an infinity coaster that dethrones Smiler if it’s inversion title. my reasoning: When Vortex opened, it held the inversion record, it’s only fitting its successor do the same.
  15. If they really wanted to, they could probably set up a temporary stand or use FoF former photo area. Not a walk in gift shop, but certainly large enough to have a counter and some T-shirts behind it.
  16. That’s disappointing then, when I went before the accident the line seemed to crawl and all of them were going then.
  17. How many trains does it have total? I can’t see a difference in running 2 vs running 3 or 4 as far as if the concern was brake power. I’ve ridden it before and it seemed to take a long time for a B&M as far as wait times. If there are 4 total trains I’d guess the ones that are off are the ones that were damaged from prior collision.
  18. We already have our car themed coaster though. edit: two of them actually lol
  19. If there was a large RMC in that exact spot, I doubt there would be any woods to speak of other than the structure.
  20. ^Wicked Twister/Dragster/Invertigo/Drop Tower have or have had regular songs playing that is “their theme song”
  21. Wasn’t there but I HATE when people do this, if you’ve already released a train onto the lift or anywhere that has a brake in front of it, you have to E stop to attempt to prevent an event like happened with Raptor. Single person that was already not following rules by having loose articles unsecured now wants to break even more rules by endangering their life and the safety of those onboard. For a cell phone, wallet, whatever it is.
  22. It’s those Stinger trains, they’re cursed. Can’t recall this happening in years past.
