  1. That does sound pretty cool in my opinion, but don't you think it would be a bit of a waste to build a ski lift just for however long WinterFest lasts? Maybe, they could incorporate the ski lift as the ride up to something. (Like you said, if it's in Soak City, you could make it so that you ride the chairlift up to a new slide, there could be a basket were you put your tube to take up- just an idea). Back to the original question, I for one don't think WinterFest would be successful. I would love for it to come back, for it sounds like great fun. I love the Christmas season feeling, so what could be better than that awesome mixed with Kings Island? It think WinterFest would be popular among Kings Island fans (like us), however I feel that many families get together for Christmas, and I don't feel that Kings Island would be the number one thing on many families lists. But that's just a guess, because, well, I don't know what many families like. Maybe if they added more attractions, like DJSkyFoxx said, it would attract more families with younger and older people can enjoy. Again, that's just my guess. razmataz, who likes his Christmas, but not too early.
  2. I noticed in this video: http://content.sixflags.com/comingin2014/ It shows people sledding. Im don't know where you could do it at KI, but I think it would be a good idea since that is what many little kids love. Also, did the train operate during WinterFest? It think train would be cool (in my opinion) if they themed it all to Christmas during WinterFest. Maybe for WinterFest they could call it "The Polar Express"? razmtaz, who has some ideas.
  3. What about flats? In the video it showed the carousel, which seems like a perfect Christmas ride. After watching the video, WinterFest seems like something everyone would enjoy. Unless your the Grinch of course... razmataz, who couldn't help himself.
  4. ^Nice bump Terpy! razmataz, who just had to.
  5. Does this mean that The Beast was open then? Or was it just decorated? I personally think it would be cool if they opened the coasters if the weather permitted. That could just be me, but I think it sounds cool. Also, why did they make you reserve tickets in advance? Why didn't they just make it like the Haunt? razmataz, full of questions yet again.
  6. My last ride of the season was on September 29 on Diamondback with fanofFirehawk. I had a good ride.
  7. ^Thank you! It looks fun, but did any of the coasters ever open during Winterfest?
  8. Fine. I'll answer the original question. As much as I know about Winterfest, (nothing) it sounds like it would be a fairly popular event. While I wouldn't expect huge crowds, but some at least. I, for one, would love for this to return for it sounds like a load of fun. I've always loved the feeling of the holiday season, so what could make it better than mixing it with Kings Island? So, yes, I think it should return in 2013. Now will answer my questions? razmataz, who is getting very impatient.
  9. It's a little early for Christmas music, don't ya think? Anyways, what was Winterfest like? Did you actually get to ride the coasters? Why aren't they bringing it back? Why was it canceled? razmataz, full of questions.
  10. I really like that idea, but what would you name Invertigo?
  11. "How much longer are u keeping Vortex. Talk about a ride sinking into the ground?!" I laughed so hard at this.
  12. ^is club TPR the ones that ride with Robb Alvey in his videos?
  13. I'm telling Aaron this! Just kidding, really good trip report, sounds like you had a good time.
  14. Here's my plan: 2014: Finish & open Banshee to the public. A new S&S screamin' swing is added to X-base. 2015: Teaser signs and footers begin to pop up around Rivertown saying things like, "Race for the gold." Also, a new Tilt-a-whirl is added just outside of Diamondback's station. The haunt inside of the Crypt's old building is removed, but not the building. 2016: A new Mack launched terrain coaster is built using the Crypt's old building as a dark ride section. Gold Rush: The ride starts in the Crypt's old building, showing animatronics everywhere which appear to be digging for gold. The curves around there for roughly 45 seconds, and then stops and launches at 71 mph and at zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds. The ride then climbs up while turning, but twists the other way now facing Diamondback. The ride then performs several elements, such as a loop, zero-g-roll, and some airtime hills. The ride ends back inside the Crypt's building where you can see more animatronic miners who have found gold. The whole section glows of gold. When you exit the station, you will enter a gift shop where you can buy knick-knacks and pictures and stuff. 2017: Congo Falls is relocated to Soak City. Action Zone is re-themed to a spooky area, and all the rides there are re-named to fit the new theme. 2018: Diamondback is repainted, and the splashdown pool is re-done. 2019: A new B&M Wing-Coaster is added to X-Base named "Phantom Jet" Phantom Jet: The ride comes out of the station banking a hard left, now facing Banshee. The ride then climbs a 204 foot lift-hill, to be greeted with a drop like Gatekeepers. The ride then goes into a massive corkscrew, and performs several other elements including, a zero-g-roll keyhole element. When you exit the ride, you will walk by the model Phantom Jet and into the gift shop. The station & queue is themed to a hangar. 2020: The front gate is redone, and the International street shops are re-themed to actually be international. 2021: Nothing 2022: Action Theater and Dinosaurs Alive removed. 2023: Footers begin to pop up in Action Zone, (or whatever the new name will be) and teasers say things like, "Prepare to HOWL!" 2024: Werewolf, a B&M giga coaster pops up in Action Zone. Werewolf: The ride starts out going up a 320 foot lift hill, only to dive down into a valley, making the drop 324 feet. The ride then performs several airtime hills, helixes, and a hammerhead turn. The station will be themed to a castle, and the queue, will be themed to the "forest." The ride will be brown & gray, and will have stadium style seating like Diamondback. The exit will take you into a castle themed gift shop, where you can buy your picture or even a stuffed werewolf! This is my plan.
  15. that's cool how you where able to do that He is doing something similar to what I did during DB's construction Magicians never revile their secrets. The station on Diamondback in that rendering looks exactly like RCT3 walls...
  16. We left at five. Just thought I'd put that out there.
  17. On Diamondback yesterday, the restraints locked down during the course of the ride (I'm rather small) is that what happens on Gatekeeper?
  18. Did you happen to see two kids on the brown train of Diamondback one wearing a red collared shirt and the other wearing a grey t-shirt? If so, that would be us. Anyways, sounds like you had a good time!
  19. ^yea, and also he was the only one who didn't get sick of us.
  20. ^I was at KI today, and the tracks looked pretty much the same colors of Diamondbacks track IMO.
  21. Thanks guys! And yes, Eric was pretty awesome. Hopefully he is on here.
  22. We arrived about at 10:45 AM and picked up fanofFirehawk, so he could get us parking. We arrived at the front gate and went straight on in. We first went to Backlot Stunt Coaster. Fun little ride, faster then it looks. Next was The Beast. Fun, as usual. After The Beast we decided to go on Diamondback. After riding Diamondback about 3 times, we decided to head to the Eiffel Tower. By now it was raining, so we took shelter in the Eiffel Tower. After this we had lunch, and we found it had stopped raining. After lunch we headed back to Diamondback, and it had started raining yet again. We marathoned Diamondback for about ten times. We headed over to Flight Deck, only to find out it was closed. After a short break, we headed yet again to Diamondback, we marathoned it until we reached about 15 rides today. It was STILL a walk on. We headed back over to Flight Deck, to see it was open again! When the train hit the brake run and stopped, we never started moving again, so we were stuck on the brake run. It only lasted about 2 minutes, which was good. By now it was about 3:30, so we marathoned Diamondback AGAIN, and got our ride count up to 21 rides in one day! My personal best! When we got off the 21'st time, we saw my sister and her friend telling us how late we were. fanofFirehawk made some new friends riding Diamondback, including his favorite ride-op, Eric. Diamondback was really stacking today. At one point, al three trains were stopped at once. Other than that, it was an ok job. Overall, I had a great time. Even with the rain, it didn't shut anything down besides Flight Deck. In fact, the rain was a good thing because is scared most people away from Diamondback. Also, Banshee is looking pretty good!
  23. I think we should remove Timberwolf. Its not popular at all! It seems like nobody knows about it!
  24. Cool video, thanks for posting. If you look closely at 7:34 there are some kids climbing on a fence.
