  1. I posted this same issue in a trip report. My son was significantly under 48 inches when his pass was purchased and processed and barely over the line on the day of the incident. In fact, I'm not sure he would have gotten a purple wrist band that day had we not planned to spend the day in Planet Snoopy. Long story short, I was not happy and my chances of being a repeat customer in 2015 are basically zero. Instead of taking the 450-500 dollars from my family for the passes plus in park spending of easily 50 dollars per visit they have lost money for the rest of this year and next. Post rant... I understand if you buy a junior pass online by mistake, but it should be caught during processing if the person in question is over 48 inches, or at the gate if they are clearly too tall. If someone grows a couple inches during the season they should not be squeezed harder, especially with the way Cedar Fair has been giving their gate away for those who visit once or twice a year. I've basically boycotted the park because of this policy and the way it was sprung onto my family. There are lots of other options out there for my hard earned money and the little time I seem to have.
  2. A shuttle does seem like the best application, at least in this early stage.
  3. I'm the king of Boo Blasters when my gun is working properly, which is never.
  4. How many times has it been said that this forum (and others like it) are often "sources" for news, both industry specific and general?
  5. Cross threading and time travelling here but... You're dead on about the assumption that people assume their local Six Flags is the only Six Flags. Once upon a time a co-worker and I were talking about rides and he was discussing a ride named Goliath. I asked "which one" and after his confusion I was able to finally figure out he was talking about SFMM.
  6. I'd be perfectly happy with a new set so long as they're snappable. Is that even a word?

    Next New Ride?

Yup. Auto correct on my new phone doesn't have my library programmed yet and I didn't proof read. Thanks!
  8. Not to be confused with the Santa Claus to the west. [emoji57]
  9. Some people are quick to forget that those responsible for capital expenditures are different than in years past. Will KI get a giga coaster? Maybe. Will it be because of a company wide trend? Hardly. Millennium Force and Intimidator 305 were many years apart and made by a different company than Leviathan and the presumed giga at Carowinds. If it were truly a trend there would be more in common in a shorter time span.
  10. I haven't been very much this year to hear too many things for this thread but sometimes there are some amazing ones.
  11. B&M inverted coaster construction slowed down because most parks that need capacity of +/-1000 riders per hour and can afford one already have one.

    Next New Ride?

Probably behind Timberwolf, along the parking lot boundary to somewhere left of the front gate near Invertigo*. *edited for misspelled ride name
  13. That, and even though Arrow mine train rides have very long life spans, they won't be around forever. I ride all the Arrows at the park as often as I can because they're a breed headed toward extinction. That's the same reason I've ridden more of the old flats this year too. As we age we appreciate things in a totally different manner.
  14. Adventure Express can be very thrilling. Ask my 7 or 6 year old minions.
  15. Running only one side is not to control when the landmark ride will be. They typically don't run both sides on slow days or in the mornings. This prevents wear and tear on one side of the ride while the line is still manageable. Once it gets busier they let them both loose. There is a schedule to the planned down time as I have seen either side down early on random days, but I do not know what that schedule is.

    Next New Ride?

This exact topic has come up before. RFYLCB used to be part of Rivertown and was themed as a saw mill. The split between areas is the pavement type on a diagonal line between the attractions.
  17. Diamondback will not always be the tallest rollercoaster at Kings Island. Something will surpass it, or it's life cycle will end and it will be removed.
  18. I meant every year at KII'd say most who participate in this community are aware of what you implied. Sometimes when you leave your posts open ended people will have a little fun with them. How are those sarcastic, mischievous, or otherwise facetious fonts coming along?
