  1. Coasters are added every year, just not at the same parks.
  2. Maybe we can all hope that Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom grow exponentially so Cedar Fair feels compelled to make Kings Island even better.
  3. I wanted to love Magnum, and I did until the bunny hops. Killer airtime, killer knee pain. The next time I go I'll try different seats and possibly leave the restraint a little looser.
  4. Although there are 16 lanes I think the offset seats make each car a row as far as seat numbering is concerned. Back left of each car would be 1, front left would be 2, front right would be 3, back right would be 4
  5. 5) Millennium Force - front I enjoy the long, smooth ride as it picks up speed after the great view on the way up. 4) SOB - front This one is probably mostly nostalgia but I used to love the pucker factor as you crested the hill. 3) The Beast - front I've been riding since I was young and even though I could close my eyes and know exactly where I am on the course I still love the rush of air and echo of the tunnel. 2) Banshee - back The pull over is amazing and leads into the rest of the ride with the best forces of the ride you can get. 1) Diamondback - back If you like Banshee's pull over, you'll love this one. I used to prefer front seat only on DB but have since learned to appreciate the rear. Honorable mention) Top Thrill Dragster - front There's only one drop and little anticipation leading up to it but it's half of a one trick pony that certainly has one GREAT trick. Slowing for a split second to see the curvature of the earth before plummeting straight down watching track disappear under you at a rapid pace is almost sublime.
  6. In your opinion it might. In mine, there's no way. It looks to be a high quality ride that will be quite fun but I don't think it will be better than our newest B&M.
  7. If Firehawk hit anywhere close to 1430 I'd ride it a lot more often. To add another question, is Firehawk's listed capacity based on X Flight's original 3 train theoretical capacity or was it recalculated?
  8. It rolls down hill... The good and the bad. If your leadership is weak and/or uninformed it will show at all levels.
  9. I'm impressed. Holiday World and B&M trying new things. I hope it works out for everybody.
  10. I've wondered if perhaps they have been saving up and planning a project of this scale as a major blow to Kentucky Kingdom. Holiday World has been successful and they certainly don't NEED a 22 million dollar investment but if you lived somewhere between both parks which would you choose next year?
  11. Are those covers in the concrete to protect them from the elements or from enthusiasts speculating? I don't remember seeing those on any other coaster project.
  12. B&M with some kind of gimmick to make it unique
  13. At least one of those photos is from Kings Island, unless they fly an Ohio flag in Virginia...
  14. The fork lifts needed room to maneuver around in there. Maybe we will see new paint and a new lighting scheme when she reopens.
  15. Even if it's not done for good it's likely that it is done for a while, and there's no guarantee I'll make it to the park any given day to be able to ride. I may not make it again in 2014 and I may not have a pass next year so I just really appreciate the time I got to spend with SR&R, especially when our family all rode together.
  16. [emoji45] I'm especially glad I went out of my way to ride this multiple times early this season.
  17. Wooden coasters are seemingly a rare thing in Florida. In fact, when I was there a teen behind me in line exclaimed that it was weird and that she had never seen one like it. The only other one that comes to mind right now in Florida is at Legoland.
  18. If you're able to go, don't skip it. It's my favorite park and I know others also hold it in high regard.
  19. Dive machines are OK if you're visiting a park you don't get to very often. I've only ridden Sheikra, and it was twice in the same day. If you get an opportunity to ride do not miss it because they are indeed very different. It was neat and the front row on either extremity of the car is ok for forces and floating out over nothingness. It was very very smooth, which is likely a testament to the BGT maintenance schedule and crew, but the ride is very short in comparison to other coasters. They lose momentum very quickly because the cars are so heavy and wide, which limits their element and inversion potential. That isn't to say it's necessarily a bad ride or ride type though. It's my wife's favorite coaster in fact! They EAT people, the lines move quickly, and they offer a different ride experience so they are a sound investment for amusement and theme parks and general admission guests. For the enthusiast who loves coasters, elements, and the speculation of what could be or could have been they are somewhat of a let down though.
  20. I remember being a youngster and the line being quite long. Perception or really? I'm not sure. I also seem to remember The Beast filling all switchbacks on almost every visit but there used to be those prints painted on the ground...
  21. I'm just curious about how the elements of the ride would affect your body sitting lower.
  22. Wasn't the biggest problem with floorless conversion the fact that they sit lower than stand ups and it would adversely affect the heart line? Or is that a rumor?
  23. I can assure you that that is not correct. Onride recording can get you ejected from the park and possibly even prosecuted. No loose articles means no loose articles. Safety. And, call me cynical, but the park will also not want competition for its sales. No outside food...no onride photography. I'm going back a while here but I got the impression CoasterOhio was referring to official media such as those you can find from reputable sources on media outlets such as YouTube. You always see POV and reverse POV filmed from the front row.
  24. All you younger boys and girls are spoiled when it comes to smoothness expectations. When I was growing up the smoothest ride at KI was Vortex and I loved it. In addition to that we had to walk back there uphill both ways in a foot of snow!
  25. Levitation also does not use staggered trains. If these blueprints are real I would expect it to have a similar design. Although Diamondback has great views from all seats my biggest complaint about the ride is that with the long trains the drop seems really short. I have not experienced earlier B&M mega coasters to confirm these feelings.
