  1. Gatekeeper is better than thunderbird imo. Tbird lasts like 20 seconds and doesn't have a hill and HW is a fake park.
  2. MF is by far better, no comparison. Chain lift...lol
  3. Honestly you could combine all other CF parks into one and CP would be better.
  4. I grew up thinking KI was the best park in the world. Then I visited Cedar Point in 02 at the age of 21. KI was ruined for me and I know I'm not the only one. KI is always going to be special as it was the 1st legitimate park I visited as a kid. I know there is no chance KI will ever compare to CP, but it would be nice to have a giga as it may contend with Millennium. I am pretty sure the people here that complain about Intamin are just jealous of CP. Yes B&Ms are reliable(lack of tech), but they are decades behind Intamin. TTD, MF, and Maverick crush any non giga B&M and MF is better than fury due to the cable lift and lake. If a giga is not installed, it's just a sign CF is content with KI being just mediocre and that's sad.
  5. Someone should tell Six Flags that and get the ball rolling on removing every single RMC install and replacing them with gigas at all of their parks. Also, Worlds of Fun's Prowler beat the taller, faster Diamondback in the 2009 Golden Ticket Awards. Not saying those awards are meaningful or anything (they aren't)... You mean the Golden Joke Awards? Yes, that is what I think of them. Oh, and this year they are being held at CP. I would put money that "SHOCKER" Valravn wins best new ride.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They do give KI the top kids area every year. CP is by far the best park on Earth though.
  6. IMO if it's a wooden coaster or anything shorter and slower than DB, it would be total waste of money. Gigas are by far the best coasters on Earth. It's all about speed and height. Wooden coasters are inferior to steel and cost a ton more to maintain.
  7. http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa420/hoosierjtf/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-05/images_zpsdnkahvfw.jpg Here is Fury's track. Profile looks similar.
  8. Maybe they can have the trains adapted to ride on King Cobra track or green Intamin track thats laying in a field so the extra 1600 ft would be free. That would be one expensive coaster. Remember that Fury 325 (at just over 6,600 feet) cost Carowinds a cool $30 million, and she was erected on relatively flat, un-forested terrain. Most of Rivertown's topography has more hills and valleys than what can be seen even for split seconds riding either The Beast or Diamondback.
  9. I don't understand the argument about why a giga since the park has a hyper. I do agree with being a bit too close to DB, but if you have a woods use it. Why did KI build The Beast since they already had The Racer? Probably the same reason they built Vortex after KC. A giga is just an evolution of a hyper as were The Beast and Vortex. From someone who has ridden both Fury 325 and DB, there is no comparison between the two. Gigas are on a different level and I hope KI is ready for the next level.
  10. We should checkout the fury build thread, if there is one, to help determine whether this is a giga. Carowinds opens in March, so KI could be a month behind. I was on the log earlier and saw several survey markings leading into the woods. This is going to fun to follow for sure.
  11. I do not believe a wooden coaster would generate any hype amongst the general public. I know most people are saying wood due to location and it's the non trendy thing to say. If you look at CF's top parks, they all have a giga except Kings Island. Just as the inverted hole was filled with Banshee I am hoping the trend is followed here and a new 325-350 giga towers over KI in 2017.
  12. Centurion 350, 100mph giga is what is needed. Anything less will be a disappointment.
  13. By 2020 Kings Island would truly crush every park in the world
  14. 2013- Immediately cancel Banshee and pay intamin to redesign a maverick like coaster that is 7000 ft long, goes 85 mph, has 4 launches, and 10 tunnels, Drop a dummy from WindSeeker to start a rumor someone died, cut it down and throw it in the field so everyone can make up death stories about it, scrap the Eiffel Tower, Outlaw anything but blue cream, resurrect Tomb Raider, Bull doze Backlot(replace with compact Intamin), 2014- Tear down Vortex, Begin working on an Intamin record shattering coaster. TTD/MF hybrid launches 0-160 in 5 secs, then later in the ride climbs a 500 ft hill using a cable lift, and reaches 120 at the bottom, overall a 12000 ft coaster. 2015- Tear down Firehawk and build a 300ft 90mph winged coaster, 8000 ft long 2016-Tear down The Beast and build a 13000 ft wood/steel hybrid, 300ft/95mph 8 trains, 4 lift hills 2017- Scrap Flight Deck and Invertigo and build a Intamin launched Invert, 285 ft, 90 mph, 15 Inversions, 9000 ft long 2018- Remove Drop Tower and build a 1000 ft drop ride, Build another kiddy land and center it around AE 2019- Level The Racer and build a new Intamin steel racing coaster that goes frontwards/backwards, 300 ft/95/7500 ft 2020- Rebuild SOB but double the height and speed (Steel Intamin)
  15. Should have been an Intamin Maverick type coaster... Inverts are a thing of the past...I believe a complete idiot chose this coaster.
  16. The only proper way to replace Son of Beast would have been a giga that was at least 320 ft. and 95mph, 7000 ft.
  17. How is that? They got this coaster 20 years ago.
  18. THIS HAS TO BE A FACT! I feel like jogging back to Flight Deck...everytime I ride it I have seen the que for flight deck (Top Gun)over flowing out in to the walk ways of the park during opening year. I waited 3+ hours in 93, line was past King Cobra
  19. The Bat B&M invert 202 feet 71 mph 7 inversions 4900 ft Blue/Black
  20. Do you mean in general, or right now? Designers build what the parks want. If a park calls B&M up and says, "We want this, this, and this, in an inverted coaster and only have X amount of room, can you do it?" B&M's response would likely be, "Our Batman model fits that description." If a park calls B&M and asks for a stand up, they will build it. Inverts are terrible..they are a 90's ride...only a moron in charge would spend $30 mil on one...if the lift hill goes through the loop, that is the definition of a gimmick... every Intamin is better than this ride they are building and it is not even debatable
  21. Look how much more crisp that track is... I don't see how anyone could even compare any invert to a coaster like MF or Maverick. Kings Island needs a Intamin more than anything.
  22. The greatest coaster of all is blue and silver
  23. Are you kidding? B&M coasters are 10x more sexier than Intamin. I don't know what your talking about futuristic, I just see stupid crossbars and a box or triangle... Haha Sleek..thin..not wide and fat
  24. Just look at the track design..Intamin is futuristic looking and crisp, B&M's looks like everyone elses. There is no comparison between Intamin and B&M, and Intamin's reliability issues are overblown.
  25. I guess KI will get another WindSeeker in 2031 too, that will really confuse a lot of people
