  1. New ride aside for a moment, does this look like a FOF queue extension to yall?

    Edit: or maybe more lockers?

Upon looking further, I think they're gonna connect FOFs queue to the old Firehawk queue

  2. I can only hope that maybe this ride will be a big leap for B&M into a much more intense style of layout. Their current hypers/gigas are known for big spread out hills and graceful curves with floater air, but this could very well be their first venture into a layout with more of an Intamin or RMC feel. We already got the first 2nd gen invert, why not get the first 2nd gen giga?

  3. Quick sketch of what said layout could realistically be

If it is this short, it looks like they have the opportunity to at least make that turnaround into an absolutely sickening wave turn

In a top-down view, how can you really tell? (That there are no loops)

Overhead, a loop would look like this (bottom) while a lack of loop would look like this (top)

  5. I'm not certain how easily accessible a map with this much detail is but i know a similar (slightly less detail, not up to date) map of the whole park exists within my work location at The Island, and based on how that one is/the fact that my department has one just laying around, i feel like maybe it's easier to get ones hands on such a map than we think. My best theory at this point is that some employee who happens to be proficient in autocad (or just really reaally good at using photoshop) got their hands on a copy of such a map and created this themselves. (and no, i will not be including pictures, as it isn't in a guest accessible area)

  6. This may be poor timing seeing a certain recent post but I'd like to showcase the progression of the hype in this thread as shown through the notification bar graph in my phone's settings

Too bad that @thoe124 and I didnt get credit for it. But, maybe that's not a bad thing.

@ohiocoasterfan That is definitely not me. Lol

I'm honestly surprised they used my doodle that took me less than 20 minutes!

Also, I tweeted John Matarese about crediting me in the article.

  8. Ope, there's new coaster speculation. Yall know what that means!

((thoe124 has returned to the discussion))

Maybe this time i'll stick around after they announce it

Anyway, I made a quick NL2 rendering of this thing based on what track pieces we currently have.

  9. *taps mic* is this thing still on? its been a while since i've been on here

I know i'm late to the party, but I just wanna say what everyone else is saying, which is that Mystic Timbers is fantastic, smooth, and filled with airtime. I would place it at the top of my list of favorite rides at Kings Island, and probably at no. 4 in my list of top favorite rides everywhere. The shed did not disappoint in my opinion, and i think its a great element of the ride. Also, the theming is very well thought out and looks beautiful. One of my favorite things about it is that the line moves very quickly. Almost as quickly as Banshee's line, if I do say so myself, which is outstanding for a woodie like this. Even with the queue almost completely full, i only waited about 1.5 hours. Overall, its a fantastic addition to the park, and I will be riding it a lot this season!

  10. And the possibility of Drop Tower closing made me think of Space Spiral's demise at Cedar Point. How much downtime has Drop Tower (INTAMIN Gyro Drop which is still in production) been getting, in relation to Space Spiral (Von Roll observation tower by Willy Buhler's Space Tower Company, both defunct)?

Not saying it will happen, but depending on downtime and mechanical issues anything can happen in the future.

    NO

I can't see them bring down Drop Tower. It had down town last year but this year I haven't seen it down yet.

I can't imagine KI without DT, it doesn't make any sense since the line and popularity is still there

    Thank you

It's also one of the first thing's I notice when getting to Kings Island. The skyline sure would be a whole lot different without DT. I don't think it's going anywhere soon because it takes up such a small space.

    Exactly

I can't see them bring down Drop Tower. It had down town last year but this year I haven't seen it down yet.

A few weeks ago it was stuck like 3/4 way up for about a half hour.

When it gets stuck, its usually not a mechanical issue.

They should never remove Drop Tower, it is one of the most iconic rides, and its usually down very little, and even when it is down, its mostly just for high winds. With a fresh coat of paint, and a tune up, ill bet you wouldn't be able to tell its 17 years old.

What does you husband think will be in the Giga (if it is one) Beast Gal? Like, element wise.

He says it should have a steegal dive or two.

I believe he was referring to a Stengel Dive, which, for those of you that do not know, is a mixture of a camelback and a sharp banked turn at the top of it. They are found on many Intamin roller coasters, such as Maverick and Goliath at Walabi World, but I believe some B&Ms have them, such as (possibly) Fury (Depending on if its turnaround is considered one)

Fury's turnaround is not a stengel dive.

    Not a stengel dive.

Both a stengel dive and a Fury turnaround would be super great on a Giga though.
