  1. We plan to go to this July 12. My 7 year old is a huge dino lover and is super excited! He learned about this event watching the promo ads at the Dive-In movie last night I must be a bad parent because I didn't even bat an eye at the showing of Jurassic Park. He hasn't seen the whole thing but I recall showing him bits and pieces when it was on tv. I picked out the scary (exciting) dinosaur parts to show him. He lived through it...but once again, I might be a bad parent lol We can't wait! I assume the t-shirt offer is first 1000 people on the first night only. Maybe they will have some for sale July 12th.
  2. The fire was there towards the beginning of summer but wasn't turned on the last time I rode (maybe 2 weeks ago)? I know because my son just turned 48 inches this summer and we rode it over and over before Memorial Day. He loves it! Last time we went, no fire! He wondered about that
  3. I went with my 2 sons last night. This was my first time and I would guess the weather held some back from attending. It was a decent crowd but definitely not packed. We had hung out at the waterpark most of the day. The rest of the waterpark closed at 8pm. My boys decided they wanted to watch the movie instead of dry rides. We walked over to the wavepool about 8ish. They made an announcement to line up on left side of pool if we wanted a raft. They provided 2 park hosts walking around with microphones asking trivia such as "What is your favorite part of the movie? and "What is the snowman's name?" It was just for fun, no prizes or anything. Then, there was LOTS of singing into the mike by the kids. As to be expected, lots of "Let it Go!" was sung lol! Pool was still closed off at this time. I didn't have a watch but probably around 9ish (maybe a little before), they let us get the floats and enter a roped over section of pool. They let people in the pool in small groups and this seemed to take awhile. It was very organized. We were one of the first groups in and it seemed like people kept coming in. Not sure if they ever ran out of floats. Many people around us ditched their floats and just swam and splashed. Not sure if they still allow that in high capacity. I had heard once tubes ran out, it was the waiting game until someone got out. We never got out so I can't confirm:) Movie didn't start until around 9:40. They played some trivia on the screens and promos for upcoming events. My 3 year old wasn't too impressed. My 7 year old wants to now attend EVERY advertised event haha! It was fun and we would do it again. I might not go right at 8pm though. It was a long wait, but it was a nice evening. Packed capacity crowds (and not being near front of tube line) might have changed my tune though. My kids want to go back Friday for Toy Story!
  4. I have young kids so was excited to see a lower height limit on this coaster. However, I had the same concern about the future of Blazin' Fury...because how many "family" firefighter coasters does one park need? I think at least two I am always impressed by the fact that Dollywood puts major money into the park. Almost every year, they put in some sort of new attraction that is unique and fun for all different ages. It is a great park. It has something for everyone.
  5. At one of the concession stands, I noticed little symbols stating certain snacks were part of the Kings Island Dining Plan. I just returned from Disney World so am very familiar with those Dining Plan symbols but have never seen them at KI before. I did not have the chance to look at any other stands but the one I saw was next to the "adult" bumper cars at the concession stand selling mainly icees and popcorn.
  6. I have been a long-time reader of these forums but never posted before. I am excited that my first post is about this new coaster! I thought the announcement was great Thursday night. First class all the way! The tombstones and fog were awesome. It WAS like a rock concert. My 6-year-old was so excited to be there (although he will likely not be tall enough any time soon as he still can't get close to that 48 inch mark and I am sure this height requirement will be much higher). I loved the whole presentation and especially when the lights came on and gate rose in the shop selling t-shirts. That was awesome! Seriously, I thought that was genius and people wre so excited to buy merch (again, just like at a rock concert). My son especially loved the Banshee scream and has been practicing it all day haha! My only question is that I have heard it will be a "female" coaster. What exactly does that mean?
