I heard a man's kids ask what the upstop wheels were for, to which he promptly answered, "Roller coasters don't really need those, they're only there for safety." In The Beast line another guy proudly explained how The Vortex was built on a swamp, and that it was slowly sinking. (How old is this rumor?)

The current Banshee structure just looks enormous in person. I took a couple good shots with my Sony in the Eiffel Tower.

What do you picture when someone says "roller coaster"?
zombieninja replied to ThatGuy11's topic in KI Polls
I picture The Racer or Screechin' Eagle. -
Perhaps Cedar Fair was already in contract to build more than two. I don't know about in the amusement park industry, but in my line of work if the buyer cancels a contract in the middle of manufacturing they have to pay for all work and engineering done up to a certain date. This would be very uneconomical for Cedar Fair if this were the case.

I really like our FRALAC!

Just this one. I'm thinking about joining PointBuzz. I lurk CoasterBuzz a lot. I also like this site: http://www.rollercoasterphilosophy.com

These pictures are amazing. You seem to be very good at timing and finding unique angles.

You could could build 50 Ravens for that! That's about 4 per Cedar Fair Park..... I think I'd rather have 50 small wood coasters like The Raven. I won't say it's a good idea!

SFGAdventure 7/15/13 - hot, short lines, and fun

Reading this makes me want to go to Six Flags Great Adventure next year! Does anybody know the best way to get there? -
I don't really understand the need for Timberliners. The Voyage is far from the roughest roller coaster I have ever rode and I thought the cars they were using were pretty nice. Almost every time I ride The Beast it seems like someone is out there looking at it or inspecting it somewhere along the route. Perhaps The Voyage needs the same level of attention.

Flight Deck by far. Perhaps I am a little biased, too. I grew up riding Flight Deck (Top Gun) since it opened and it was my favorite when I was younger. Now I have a 5 year old and Flight Deck is his favorite. However, I believe when he gets to ride Iron Dragon (hopefully) next year he will like that one equally as well.

The Amusement Park World without Kings Island
zombieninja replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
My head hurts.... between this and the possibility of not existing now I'm picturing Kings Island as the drain plug of the universe -
I think the problem with Gatekeeper is people went in with high expectations. I don't think the intention from the start was to create the most thrilling machine in the park. After all, this is the replacement for Disaster Transport.

^ Wicked Twister was valleyed the last time I went.

I hope you have a great time! The Curse of DarKastle and all of their water rides are very good too. -
This sounds a lot like one of our weekly visits to the park (though I can't convince my girlfriend to ride Surf Dog without my son ). I always wonder if I ever ran into other members from this forum.
