  1. My coworker overheard me talking about the announcement. She said that she is friends with a member of KI's marketing team and that he told her what it is. She's not an enthusiast though and didn't know that I was until she heard me talking about it, so she didn't ask for specifics. She texted him, but hasn't received a response...I assume he's probably pretty busy today. So, I know what it is and the theme, but not the manufacturer or name.
  2. Quick...somebody count the stumps! That's how many airtime moments there will be.
  3. There's also Cheetah at Wild Adventures, and numerous Wildcats. Also, Tig'rr at Indiana Beach.
  4. Mantis was originally to be named Banshee, not Raptor.
  5. Although I'm not entirely convinced that this is an RMC, I suspect it to be more than just an average GCI (like Prowler or Renegade) based solely on the tweet that said "They will definitely come". That implies that it will be a destination coaster that people will travel for, not one that is similar to another one that is closer to them. I expect it to have some sort of new element or break some sort of record. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
  6. Plus, he says "at most" 33 feet deep, not "at least". So one could be 33 feet deep and the rest could be 6 inches deep. It means nothing.
  7. The only pic I saw was of a couple of logs stacked. Stacked logs have already been shown in that area but they came from the cleared area. I think he's grasping at logs.
  8. And Goliath is the weakest of their coasters (that I've ridden...but I think it's a pretty popular opinion). Although I don't feel like this will be RMC, I definitely would be thrilled if it is.
  9. ^ Right? You pay more and get a higher quality of service, not unlike purchasing business class airline tickets or better seats at a concert. Those who choose to spend the money to take advantage of it shouldn't be shamed for doing so.
  10. I thought it had a pretty uninspiring layout. I took one of my nephews on it, who was 12 at the time and not a coaster enthusiast, and he pretty much summed it up: "It was big and painful and just kept doing the same thing over and over".
  11. Was that you that left to go ride Flying Ace when I mentioned it was open? No, I was a few people back...I just saw the pigtails and figured it was you. I went to wait for Diamondback to open but was told it wouldn't be opening on time either, so I went back to The Beast to wait again. Diamondback opened on time incidentally. Kind of a frustrating morning.
  12. That's my pick for a name too. It has a nice ring to it and fits with the area and the clues so far....plus, merchandising would be cool. Also, I believe I was behind you in line for The Beast this morning. I was off today and decided to take advantage of the early ride time for the first time this season. Not such a great day for that, unfortunately.
  13. I remember it. I think it started with "Ladies and Gentlmen, boys and girls, may I have your attention please? In just 15 minutes, Kings Island will present blah blah blah at blah blah blah".
  14. I'm not sure that's the best phrase to use.
  15. That's how I feel about Thunderhead. Somebody mentioned that I had it listed in my Top 10 in my signature, even though I said I only moderately enjoyed it. I had to edit my list based on more recent rides on it. However, I really enjoyed Joris en de Draak at Efteling, so I have faith that a GCI can be maintained and remain enjoyable.
  16. I'm partial to Lumberjack. Mainly because I want a flannel souvenir shirt with suspenders.
  17. Vortex. Even though it's photogenic, it's past its prime and I haven't bothered riding it in years due to its roughness. Technology and engineering has come a long way since it debuted as a state of the art attraction. It's time.
  18. Is it? I'm on my phone and can't see signatures. Looks like I probably need to update the list. I've ridden quite a few new coasters since then (including re-riding Thunderhead). I imagine my first impression was a bit better than subsequent rougher rides I experienced more recently.
  19. I'm actually hoping it is a GCI. After riding Joris en de Draak last week at De Efteling, my faith in them was restored (I'm not a fan of Kentucky Rumbler and only moderately enjoyed Thunderhead...the only other GCIs I've been on). Joris en de Draak was awesome...I liked it more than Baron 1898.
  20. I've been to several of the Pride Nights. The only one I didn't enjoy was a couple of years ago because it was so darn hot. I rode Banshee once, got in line for Diamondback and it broke down so I went home...the heat put me in a bad mood. I'll wait for the weather forecast this year before purchasing tickets.
  21. Yes. Or was that an either/or question? I believe it's just views, not likes. Which is why he is so quick to grab a park's official videos, slap his logo and a "OMFG WOW!" title on it and upload it to his own channel. I'll stop with the TPR bashing though, we all know what he's like. I'm excited for the 2017 project, regardless of what it is.
  22. I went on a couple of the TPR trips and attended several events. I never caused drama. I was banned for liking a friend's Facebook status. I won't watch his videos and contribute to his existence anymore.
