  1. A record breaker doesn't mean a thing. What did records do for Son of Beast? Maverick is not a huge record breaker but yet it is still a very intense coaster. The tallest and fastest often is not the best. Sure Son of Beast held all those records but it was often at the bottom of the list for favorite coasters. In what way did that help the park.
  2. You know what they say: Those who know don't tell. That is until its time to do so.
  3. I chuckled at this. It makes me so excited (as if I'm not already excited because something is coming) to classify it, even if it's not there yet. I apologize because I did not mean to stir the pot at all. I'm sorry. I don't think you have anything to be sorry about. You can call it a hyper invert if you want. I actually found the conversation entertaining . I was chuckling about it myself because some people do take this so seriously at times.
  4. I think people get hung up on words way to much. I know if this turns out to be an invert and its 200 feet and not called a hyper invert I'm not really going to care. I'm not going to get off the ride and say , it would have been a much better ride experience if they called this a hyper invert. I don't think it matters.
  5. Matt Ouimet said He doesn't have another wing rider on the menu for any of the other parks right now.
  6. I think one thing that made some think that It might be a giga is the fact that the park started so early on this project. I know I have no idea what this new ride is going to be. I wonder though,if this is just a regular size coaster why would they have started so soon? Raptors first footers were not poured until October. Gatekeepers first footers were not poured until October as well. Unless they are going for a record for height and length on an invert . I don't know myself. Just questioning everything.
  7. I think for some people it has to do with a lot of inversions. I can ride Diamondback,Beast, and other rides like that all day but I can only take a ride like raptor once or twice in one day. I get dizzy after a couple of rides. I can't ride Vortex more then once either. So I think for some its the going upside down multiple times.
  8. It could be because of a lot of rain this season also. This has been one of the wettest summers I can remember. There were some days where they could not get out to pour any footers. I remember there was a period where it rained many days in a row. I'm sure that has put them a little behind.
  9. How many times can you get a rise out of the people on KIC? And in one day even.
  10. I'm kind of bored tonight. Lets see how many people I can get to go insane . This is going to be fun to watch. Oh I need my popcorn. I think it worked pretty well don't you.
  11. Everything is too small to make anything out and if I zoom it just gets distorted .
  12. That's why I didn't run down to KI this morning. Some like to see how many people they can get all worked up. They did a good job.
  13. They have apps for that for just a few bucks. I have an iPad mini and I use a browser called Photon and it runs flash. Like I said it cost just a few bucks. It's works pretty well. You Might have known about it already but I thought I would mention it.
  14. I did the math a while back, this is going to put the lift hill at around 150 foot. That falls into the range typically seen on inverts. I'm torn between an invert and giga. I'd rather see a giga, but an invert would be so nice. At this point, based on the dual footers, I think giga is out. The dual footers are only seen on the inverts and flyers. For it to be anything else, they would have to be using a completely new way of supporting the track.[/quote I don't know what it is going to be but if you look at the pov and pictures of leviathan, almost the whole ride uses dual footers. I think it is too soon to tell what type of coaster it will be.
  15. I have been stuck on the final breaks before the station on MF and they brought a battery over to release our lap bars . I have seen them do it on maverick also.
  16. After having worked at Walmart for almost 8 years I would work just about any job at Kings Island. At least KI has security to care of guests who get out of hand. If you work at Walmart and customer even goes as far as hitting you, no one is allowed to even help you. If you defend yourself or a fellow worker jumps in to help, you both get fired. Not even management can help you. All they can do is call the police and hope they get there fast. All they worry about is getting sued. It wasn't always like that just the last couple of years.
  17. I know Gary and he is a decent guy. I think he is trying to reach 10,000 rides by the end of the year. For me that is too much like work to go to a park with a set goal of reaching so many rides on one coaster. There are too many other things inside the park that I want to do. If he gets enjoyment out of it more power to him.
  18. So glad that no one died in this accident. This has also restored my faith in people to some degree. It's great to see that park guests just jumped in to the water to help the ones trapped in the boat. If people are trapped under water every second counts. It might have been a different out come if the ones who did help just decided to stand there and watch instead.
  19. I have also encountered this message twice in about 5minutes tonight.
  20. No,the threat of terrorism does not deter me from going to parks. I was at Kings Island riding Drop Zone 2 weeks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. I have never let that stop me from doing anything. If its my time to go,I'm going to go.
