  1. They were discontinued in 2010 but you could still get them if you were there for a company picnic. Idk when they brought them back or if you can buy them at any food location but they sure were money makers back in the day. I got them last year (2015), 2014, and 2013 (I believe). Multiple times each season. I saw people talking about it on here one time and have done it ever since. I didn't get a pass this year but if I did I'd probably be adding 2016 to that list.
  2. I partook in the inaugural dining plan last year and was happy with it. I didn't do it this year and I don't regret it. Mostly because the time change between meals makes it difficult to get two in on a short day after work (if I want to eat twice). I'd love to see Snack's added. Perhaps a tiered system could be implemented.
  3. I would be willing to pay $30 to get $.99 drinks just scanned off my season pass. Anyone thoughts on that? I would absolutely be on board with that 100% every season without a doubt.
  4. I can't find the cost or estimated cost in any press release or article. I saw one where someone estimated $8 million. That was going to be my guess before finding that. Does anyone know how much that ride cost?
  5. Is he in his 40s ish maybe older? Died his hair purple and shorter/shaved on the sides? I saw a guy matching this description ride Banshee all day long. He had a Fast Lane and rode Banshee exclusively. I asked him how many times he had been on the ride around 6 or 8pm and it was some super high number between 30 and 60 something ( I know that's a large range but I don't recall the exact number.). I asked him why and he said "Why not? It's the best ride in the park. Why ride anything else?" As for me I have no idea the number of times I rode what but I can safely say I rode Banshee the most by a HUGE distance over whatever was second.
  6. I'd like to see as much of the pavement in the park replaced with other alternatives that don't draw as much heat. Also I'd like to see Vortex get a renovation so I can ride it without regretting it.
  7. I think this is the music that plays on Banshee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLJllk-0o6c&index=21&list=FLu9JN2HdYC1K8KNWTh9-3DQ I can say with 100% certainty this is not only not the same song but it's not the same genre of music.
  8. Ah well then I guess I won't be doing that one this year haha. I remember it being probably the tamest haunted maze I've ever been in. I did really enjoy trying to guess what each Holiday would be or was.
  9. Honestly to me they're all tame but I'm not scared by Haunted Houses/Mazes. I will say the Calendar themed one seemed super tame last year with many empty rooms but I haven't gone through it this year. I go mostly to admire and observe the scenery.
  10. I'm not sure you understand PETA's issue with the treatment of Shamu...
  11. Should I be worried about you filming me washing my hands in the rest room and posting it because others near me did not?
  12. I see no idiots and no harm being done. The juice used in fog machines these days in non toxic. I just see two park goers enjoying themselves and having harmless fun which impacted you in no single way. Even if they had been doing something bad, if it doesn't impact you then who cares? Why bother video taping it and posting it?
  13. Vortex 15 times? Are you now wheelchair bound?
  14. I'd rather give my money to Kings Island than to a company that is most likely making money off stuff they didn't reach agreements with the rights owners on.
  15. I'd love a shirt with just the logo on it and nothing else. Make it in orange, charcoal, black, or white. I'd buy it in any of those.
  16. I stopped riding The Vortex in June and I likely won't ride it ever again unless it's refurbished. It's the roughest ride in the park and makes The Beast feel like you're floating down a lazy river on a mattress. I wasn't able to ride it a single time this season without feeling pain or discomfort of some sort. The same goes for my friends. I couldn't even justify my nostalgia or my desire to ride it to my ex anymore.
  17. Any song...ANY SONG...Any song that isn't "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. I swear that song holds the all time never to be broken record for most overplayed song in Kings Island history. My favorite part of the upcoming off season is not having to hear that song for 5-6 months. What little charm that song had has been burned and destroyed and can never be reclaimed even in an ironic sense.
  18. I used my Dining Plan Saturday. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't be valid. Season Long means Season Long.
  19. I apologize if this has been brought up already. Currently as of today the only recent trademarks by Cedar Fair in the last year to be used on rides that are not already in use are Centurion and Rougarou. There is also the possibility it could be renamed after LeBron James. They mentioned Mantis being squashed which to me doesn't really highlight one of these while eliminating the others. If it were to fit a western or wooded theme I'd put money on Rougarou.
  20. I've been to the park approx 20 times thus far and have yet to be in line when Banshee has broken down. I've only seen it down once or twice all season when passing by. Once because someone threw up so they we're cleaning it off. You seem to have really bad luck. Don't jinx the rest of us!
  21. Let's put it this way. Last year people on this board talked about how the Sunday crowds are ALWAYS so low this weekend every year. I took them for their word. It was Dollar Days and was insanely packed. It was one of the if not the most crowded day I went during 2013 and I went once or a twice a week every week last year. If anyone tells you it will be light crowds I would take it with a grain of salt. I'm tempted to find the individual posts and quote them in this thread. My girlfriend at the time spent the day rubbing it in my face "I thought those guys on the message board said it would be empty". Now anytime I mention anything from this message board to her she brings up this specific event. The other time she mentions is how someone said the week we were going to Cedar Point last year was the first week of classes for Michigan students and how it'd be so empty ( Monday and Tuesday). We had made the plans even before this welcomed information. Needless to say it was the single most crowded visit I've ever had including past visits in weekends in June. I'm sure Cedar Point has less crowded days but my experience has been: crowded and crowded. Thankfully we got a good deal and got Fast Lane. TL/DR Just assume it's going to be packed and either be right or pleasantly surprised.
  22. I agree with all of this. This is one of the best paint schemes I've seen. I love the color combo and everything about it. I'm so over red and yellow coasters. It was about time we got some more orange. Now if only we could get some green....
  23. I was in line for 45 minutes on opening day and it was one of only two rides I was on before I left. EVERYTHING had insane lines and in some cases season long record lines that day. If I could go back in time I would've not taken off work that day and not of gone. The number of riders has increased but it's not some huge massive difference. If I had to guess I'd say it's doubled the amount of people riding it which isn't much. I still see it near empty often but to be fair I still see more people on the ride than last year.
  24. Were people expecting him back? I assumed when he wasn't back for regular shows it was obvious he wasn't coming back for just Haunt.
