  1. Last piece of the dive loop is being attached now!
  2. More track is going up now Second or third piece of day
  3. I found Raptor to be among the rougher coasters I went on at Cedar Point this year.
  4. You must be the lucky charm that brings us more construction because more support went up. Say more stuff won't happen. Tell us the loop won't be up tomorrow!
  5. They have only done construction on Monday through Fridays, correct?
  6. I had early ride time two days in a row last month at Cedar Point. They included Iron Dragon, Raptor, Maverick, Millenium Force, and Gatekeeper. According to a guy in line next to me on Day 2 that was twice as many rides for early ride time as he had seen in his previous visits. Gatekeeper's line was so long it was actually shorter during normal ride times and pretty much not worth getting in line for during early ride time. Raptor and Iron Dragon I skipped during ERT because their lines were pretty much the same length and not making use of the ERT. Millenium Force would have been worth it vs the usually insanely long near two hour lines. I found the super longer walk to Maverick was worth it as the line was so much shorter I was able to ride it twice before early ride time ended. To me Maverick was the ERT line vs normal operation hours wait time of the offerings.
  7. I went to Cedar Point in August and road Maverick. The launch tunnel worked. Did you mean it did something besides relaunching you? Just curious since it was my first time on that particular ride.
  8. Someone with your knowledge should put together a FAQ for it and they should sticky it.
  9. Thank you for the answers. Much appreciated.
  10. I haven't been since the Paramount days so I have a few questions. 1. When passes go on sale and they include the free ticket to Halloween Haunt is it for Fridays only, 6 to 1 am only, or can it be used for the full day Saturday? 2. Does fast pass work on the Haunt attractions? 3. Can the souvenir cups be used during Halloween Haunt or do they gouge us for more money and make you buy some special Halloween cup? 4. Is there any unique food/drink items available for purchase during Halloween Haunt that are not during the regular season? 5. Why did they get rid of the name Fear Fest and give us the generic name Halloween Haunt? I see Cedar Point has Halloweekend, Knott's Berry has Knott's Scary Farm, and Carowinds has Scarowinds. I assumed Paramount owned the rights but why not stick with a brand name? I assume they'd have to register the new name and get all new signage.
  11. While in line for Firehawk on Friday night I heard a early 20s late teens male tell a female guest "the hill is 220 ft ". She did not believe him and he persisted with this. At first I thought he was sarcastic but he then pointed to the sign that said "220 ft ahead" or whatever it says and assumed it referred to the rides height...
  12. Monday the park was packed and we got the Fast Pass Plus which I don't regret. I think we coulda skipped the second day as a result honestly. Tuesday the park was still busy but not as packed as Monday. The Fass Pass Plus would have been a waste since the line was halfway up the final ramp for Top Thrill Dragster past the point where FPP and normal riders merge. Also Gatekeeper was a 6 minute wait till the merge point. So I'm glad we didn't get it on day 2.
  13. I'm going for either 1 day with fast pass plus which includes Top Thrill Dragster and Gatekeeper. The other option is 2 days without the fast passes or 2 days and getting the pass 1 day. My gf wants to get them both days which seems overkill to me. We're going Monday and or Tuesday. How are the lines on Mantis (walk on?), Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, and Gatekeeper? Those are the coasters I'm most interested in. If this would make a difference I've been once before for a 2 day weekend trip in June of the year Top Thrill Dragster came out and road it once or twice. It was like the week or day before it shut down after an accident. I haven't been since.
  14. With the exception of date coverage in Flight of Fear right before I go into the UFO I have 100% data coverage with Verizon. I've never had problems accessing apps, making texts, checking facebook, etc.
  15. 100% blue. Are you by any chance color blind or viewing the images on a monitor with improper settings?
  16. In no particular order 1. King Cobra 2. Kenton Cove Keelboat Canal 3. Smurf's Enchanted Voyage 4. Flight Commander 5. Son of Beast 6. Flying Eagles 7. Racer Backwards 8. Skylab 9. Tomb Raider Der Spinning Keggers (I was alive for The Bat but too young to remember and never road it otherwise I'm sure it'd make my list.)
  17. I know there is zero chance of this happening but can you imagine if they got the rights to "The Walking Dead" and had a stand up coaster named "The Walking Dead"? I guess to be properly themed it'd need to max out at 5 mph hahaha On a serious note I wonder if the whole area will be re-themed to something like "Fright Zone" or "King's Grave Yard" etc. You've already got a ride named Delerium, Invertigo, and a new haunted ride. The rest could be renamed to match the area.
  18. Why are you reading a thread about decoding a ride if you want to avoid spoilers?
  19. I would have to sat that looks like some invert track I'm not an expert but I don't believe that pic looks like any invert I've ever seen or been on. I can't think of a single one where you have metal bars between the supports and the actual track. To me that looks like a transfer track. But someone show me a pic of an invert that looks like that and I'd consider believing them. Until then I'm of the believe that track is not an inverted track of any kind. To all of you praying to the coaster gods for an inverted coaster this doesn't mean that pic is of our coaster no matter what type of ride that's from. I am of the minority hoping this is not an inverted coaster. Of B&M'S roller coasters: Diver coasters, inverted, stand up, sit down, floorless, flying , hyper, and winged... Honestly I'd rather have a world record breaking any one of those over an inverted coaster. I'm not a huge fan of inverts either but if thats what it is then I will ride. anyway you said youd rather have an invert than an invert in your last paragraph. I know it was probably an error just pointing it out I was just re-reading my post and realized somebody was going to read that and say that. I was listing of their types and saying that I'd rather any of the other types. I should have worded it clearer but I'm not editing it gets too many responses lol
  20. Coming from the person with 12 posts. Do some history research and you will see that a looping wooden coaster is nothing new nor was SoB anywhere near the first. What does his number of posts have to do with his knowledge? That's like saying someone who drives a crappy car can't possibly know anything about cars or saying someone who has never played baseball doesn't really know anything about the game. I believe his confusion is over the choice of words when the ride was first marketed with it being a wooden coaster and looping. I don't recall the exact words but I believe it was something along the lines saying it was the first wooden looping coaster or largest looping wooden coaster or something. I may be wrong on that. It wasn't the first as we know but it was the only wooden roller coaster operating at that the time it opened with a loop if I do recall correctly.

  22. Keep in mind not everyone has been to the park this year and not everyone who's been to the park has noticed the construction. Not everyone is curious when they see a fence, not everyone who has been to the park been on a ride that the site can be viewed from, and not everyone who sees it will realize it's actual construction and not just deconstruction. While humanity as a whole is stupid I think you're making too many assumptions that everyone has been to KI this year. I can name more people I know who've not been than who have been. Probably on a 10 or 20 to 1 ratio. I might be low balling that number.
  23. Sorry, Cody, my posts aren't meant to irk people. I have a tendency to multiquote, because I see a lot of posts I want to respond to. It's hard to "hear" the inflection in my voice, but I'm not really pouncing on people. I just tend to challenge what people say - not because I'm trying to irk them, but because I question the reasoning they use as the basis for their posts. By no means am I saying they aren't permitted to express their opinions. I'm just probing the basis for it, that's all. Welcome to KIC! And I assume you've heard the saying "There's a first time for everything "....? If the only reason you assume the new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions is because no other coaster in Ohio has more than 6, then let me take you back to 1987 when Vortex opened, and no other park in the world at that time had a coaster with 6 inversions. Your logic doesn't make sense. They could have put a final inversion on Gatekeeper and didn't.... My logic makes perfect sense. Vortex - 6 Raptor - 6 Gatekeeper - 6 How come they have not added a 7th inversion to any Ohio coasters after all of these years? It can certainly be done. Look at these examples: Kumba - 7 Hulk - 7 Kraken - 7 Dragon Khan - 8 Your logic goes like this: No park in Ohio has built a coaster with more than 6 inversions, therefore this new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions. That's not sound reasoning for why this new coaster couldn't have more than 6 inversions. As I said, there's a first time for everything. Agreed 100%
