I'd even argue that they had a winner on their hands with Valravn.......

Me too......outside front row at night is one heck of a thrill.

Remember, I didn't make the statement that they have failed miserable since Banshee. I'm actually in the process of booking an April trip to Carowinds to check out Fury cause I love me some sexy B&M goodness.

EDIT:  Id Love to ride something new at a CF park that actually raised my heart rate a bit, which B&M has failed miserably at doing since Banshee.*

*Note, I have not ridden Fury 325 yet, so that may be the sole exception to this statement.

Just curious......which new B&M rides at CF have failed miserable for you since Banshee not counting Fury?

I can only think of one, Valravn?

Thanks for the info! Another dumb question, do you have to be a member of a Coast Club to participate or can you just be a Gold/Platinum pass holder?

    Club members only.

  4. I think sometimes, when claims are made of guns being broken, the cause can be traced back to simply incredibly poor aim on the part of the rider. If you can't aim the gun properly, you won't hit any targets, and if you don't hit any targets, you'll tend to think that the gun is broken when it's not. Pro tip: don't try to shoot one-handed. Use both hands in a proper handgun grip for maximum accuracy.

    This perfectly describes my wife.

I rarely have trouble with mine but hers is always broke.....what are the odds?

A 50/50 chance each time we ride and she gets a non-working gun, lol.

  5. I cannot find details for the free friend bit, but is that allowable on any public open day remaining, or does it need to be a Sunday like the fast pass thing? I have a few friends that might like to go, but I cannot plan when to take them!

Sunday only and one per passholder which must be present.

    See my post above.

They are requiring everyone to have a new picture for next year, since some people may still be using pictures from around 2007, so you must choose one of those options.

Also, does anyone know the process for getting a new card for someone who renewed from a Gold Pass to a Platinum Pass.  IE can they get their platinum card this year and be able to use it for the remainder of the 2016 season (renewal) with the understanding that the platinum benefits do not work until 2017?

First I've heard of the required new pictures. Ours are only a couple year old.

For the record.....I chose "take at park" for all of our passes and there was no problems using them this past weekend.

Wanted to mention, because it threw me:

When you renew this year, and print your "vouchers", there is no barcode on it to scan to get your Fast Lane, like in past years. Actually, you don't need to print anything. The free bring-a-friend ticket can be redeemed at the ticket sales windows, simply by scanning your pass. Same with Fast Lane wrist bands at the Fast Lane booth.

    Very convenient.

Convenient yes but that pretty much restricts the benefits to the card holder which I understand is the premise. Last year my daughters friend used the wife's Fast Lane since should could not attend and we was going to let her use the Bring a Friend tickets since me or her will not make it back this year. Oh well.

  7. As mentioned earlier in this thread......when renewing online you must pick a photo option to continue (capture, upload, take at park). I certainly don't want to do any of those options and I can't remember what I've done in years past but our passes/pictures always carried over.

    Thoughts??

  8. It also brings the question, was his Brother in the raft with him? The thought of his Brother being right there to see it unfold would be.... unimaginable.

Don't have a link since it was one of the multiple reports I read earlier today but it stated his brother was not in the raft with him, there were two adult women that also suffered injuries.

Probably the same way it makes it out of the station. A slight change in elevation and gravity.

Take a look at the plans again. The building are at a perfect 90° angle, the track isn't.

Yeah.....I knew there was a radius in the final turn but it kinda threw me when the renderings were released and it seemed there wasn't enough room for that type of transition.

I must be having a hard time judging the scale of the shed/station.

    Maybe it's a turn table.

I thought of that but I just don't see enough width in that area.......turn tables require quite a large radius.

Maybe the shed/station rendering is way off and it won't be a dead sharp, right hand turn.

If it is accurate....I'm stumped (pun intended).

The park had just built Shivering Timbers, had sound management and what was seen as great potential, was near Cedar Point (relatively), had a good waterpark, and sold for what Cedar Fair saw as an attractive price.

I had always heard that location, the area between Chicago and CP, was very desierable to Cedar Fair. Correct me if I'm wrong but was there not a couple of failed attempts for them to buy land and build a park from the ground-up in the Michigan area? Near Battle Creek possibly??
