Cedar Point 2016 Talk
PyroKinesis replied to Bansheeback's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I bet Donald Trump not only would have continued with the announcement, but he would have announced it at the conference with the coroner. -

No. Like Freddie Mercury famously sang (on his deathbed, mind you), The Show Must Go On. -

I know there are some people upset with this news, but I could not be more excited. Loved B&M Dive Coasters since I played the Alton Towers scenario in RCT1 many moons ago. -
Accident on Alton Towers Smiler
PyroKinesis replied to Bennett's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Alton Towers announced they are closed tomorrow as well. I also saw this image on TowersTimes while browsing their thread on the accident. Source: http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40277#p821930 -
Accident on Alton Towers Smiler
PyroKinesis replied to Bennett's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The article on the Daily Mail says that the train filled with passengers stopped in the middle of the loop. Is this normal operation for The Smiler? How does one stop a train halfway through a loop? -

Man, this is one of my favorite parks overseas. Hope everyone fully recovers, and they figure out just what went wrong so it never happens again. -

It would have been something, though, if they built a Meijer around the station for Big Dipper. So once you get your groceries and $5 generic t-shirts, you could go for a ride without leaving the store, and head home. -
How does the restraint system work on the Firehawk?

I remember when my mom rode this when it was X-Flight at Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure. She lost one of her favorite sandals going through the loop. Had to buy a cheap pair from the nearest gift shop. -
Kennywood: Large Fight

Speaking of bad neighborhoods around parks, recently a group has started to clean up the area around Idora Park here. There's a greenhouse and some freshly planted trees down Billingsgate Avenue where the Idora Park sign used to be. Ah, what could have been. An amusement park 5 minutes from my house? Sigh... -

Wonder what the attendance figures are like for WWK. Obviously enough for them to keep it open, but not enough for them to bother adding new slides or attractions. -

Valravn would be an incredible name for, oh, I dunno, a B&M Dive Coaster. -

Paper or plastic season/annual passes?
PyroKinesis replied to Sonofbeast2.0's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Is this the first thread in a series? "Paper or plastic season pass?" "Boxers or briefs season pass?" "Coke or Pepsi season pass?" -
Well now that you mention EPCOT and World Of Color in the same paragraph... imagine if they put it in the World Showcase Lagoon. Only bigger. Much bigger. Could probably fit 4 of the "stages" in there.

Were you really surprised you couldn't find a small footer on a webcam that isn't zoomed in on any area in particular? -
https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/disney-hollywood-studios-theme-park-name-185909148.html CEO accidentally let it slip that they are renaming Disney's Hollywood Studios. Hopefully with that renaming comes the replacement of Fantasmic with World Of Color East.
