  1. Yep. It only takes one jerk to ruin it for everyone.
  2. Same. The sad thing is, had the owners decided to act upon the proposed wood coaster, I feel the park would have been in a good place.
  3. Here’s video I shot of opening night. It was a great event, and I felt the park was firing on all cylinders.
  4. They never said reverse engineering parts for TTD. Jumping to conclusions when a technical investigation is being done can be a very dangerous thing and can lead to wrong conclusions. One example I always cite about the importance of jumping to conclusions a case when the federal government actually announced the results of their investigation into an air accident was caused by poorly manufactured parts, and then discovering days later that the AA had screwed up maintenance on the jet. In these situations, it’s best to sit back and wait.
  5. They’ve been very transparent. The failure of the ride was a complex failure that will take time to do a route cause analysis. The park has stated within hours that an incident occurred and a piece came off the train. They were up front about the nature and scope of the incident. To add to the complex nature of the incident, the bolts were found, but not the piece witnesses said came off the ride. It is highly probable it was scooped up by an enthusiast in line. Furthermore, head injuries are very complex to diagnose and state the severity as well. It is not an injury someone can take a 5 minute look and order cast, braces, or prescription for. Furthermore, the media leading the campaign is the Sandusky Register. In the last few weeks they have run a series of articles lambasting CF for “considering Charlotte” as their main HQ. To put that into perspective, they are upset that the chain wants to put its offices miles from one of the largest airports in the states.
  6. All joking aside, the shed refers to the storage track.
  7. Doesn’t surprise me. In Texas, the ICUs in the children hospitals are filled.
  8. And another example of enthusiast entitlement makes the park less willing to have events for enthusiasts. The guy that leaked it, did so as he was upset over not being invited to the announcement.
  9. Here is video I shot of the park. I highly recommend visiting it.
  10. Nope. However the park has been vastly improved by Cedar Fair. Contrary to what enthusiasts say, the park is quite nice, and the infrastructure improvements have gone a long way towards improving guest experiences.
  11. I was making a joke since that diagram was extremely similar (almost identical) to a diagram of the original structure of St. Peter’s in my art history course that I took in college.
  12. That’s the area of the park with the lowest elevation and floods frequently. With it being so close to the lake as well, if you wanted to build a tall coaster, you would need to have deep piles in order to deal with all the stresses.
  13. The park has been looking to potentially keep facilities related to employee access consolidated. Currently some of it is on the mainland and some of it is on the peninsula itself. The park uses the area to drop off employees for shifts. If one was to build a ride there, you would need excessively deep piles to anchor the ride and to prevent impacts from other rides. Considering that they’re moving everything off the mainland, maybe they are planning to move some of the parking lot off property, as they have been buying up dozens of properties.
  14. That’s a structural model of the original St. Peter’s.
  15. There’s dozens of markers from antiques to mine ride to stockade. It would be nice to see a few flat rides back there.
  16. Just to show that this is not a rare event And this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.daytondailynews.com/entertainment/test-dummies-fly-off-jersey-shore-galeforce-roller-coaster-during-safety-test/qeMbfZESdgBZbJp4miSEYO/%3FoutputType%3Damp
  17. True, however, the roof truss structure doesn’t represent any roof we have in the park currently.
  18. In a recent video to KI’s YT channel, the park did a quick feature on its head of Maintenance and Construction. During the video, blueprints are shown in the video. The video show blueprints that are blurred out, except for a small section that shows a truss structure similar to what is seen in stations. Is the park planning a new ride? The park has used similar teases to promote a new ride. A tweet in 2016 featured the turnaround for MT with a Starbucks cup nearby.
