  1. You want your tub to keep on pointing straight along the tangent while swinging up and down. You do not want your tub to spin out, or oversteer the gliders.
  2. I'm just curious about what made Carowinds stand out more to Cedar Fair in comparison to KD or KI. Any thoughts?
  3. You need to keep the tub tangent to the concrete pad.
  4. I completely agree with this. The last few times I have been down to Kings Island, I have noticed so many things that seem like an easy fix. Dinosaurs Alive!, food service, cleanliness, Boo Blasters, etc... It feels that the park has almost stopped caring and is just coasting until the end of daily operation, even though I know it isn't true. It feels like there is just a general lack of intention about things.Being at Cedar Point earlier this week only made it stand out to me how many little things at Kings Island could be changed for the better. Put smoking sections away from the rest of the park. Touch up paint and lights. Put love and intention and pride into the park. I do hope that all of these things aren't the case. Like Terp said, familiarity breeds contempt. But I am familiar with a couple of parks, and something about my "home park" seems off to me this season. There are growing pains with any park moving from a large tourist destination into a internationally known park. KI has done a great job on upkeep this year, but I'll admit, some of the food services are lagging.

  6. Cell phone glitched and made duplicate entries.
  7. LOL. That guy was likely me.
  8. But, I've already gotten my tub to snap with a 45-55 degree tilt each time. The ride already has insane snaps. 20 sec more wont make a difference.
  9. That was a fluke occurrence. I know because I was on the ride at the time and the people were from CP, and they were being taught how to snap. They did not expect to encounter the repeated swinging motion after the ride was completed. It was not a "hit" but a minor bump. That occasionally happens with Bisch-Rocco models as the Carowinds glider had several bumps on media day.
  10. There is not only a noise, but a loud snapping sound. The only fault I have with the ride is the cycle length. Add 20 sec, the snaps will be insane.
  11. The KI set has some wicked snaps with massive ejector air. The trick is sitting on the right side of the tub with your left hand on the back right corner. Take your right hand, and push the fin in as much as possible when starting. When you turn the fin out, try to keep the tub as tangential to the concrete circle. When the tub is about to reach maximum height, lean into the fin, making it point downward. Your body should act as a dynamic part of the tub. That should help snap!
  12. I'm just wondering how an adult fit in the kids seatbelt for the ride?
  13. Tonight I got some snaps that made the signature snapping noise similar to the old flyers. Has anyone encountered this during your onride experience?
  14. Did the WCPO news helicopter break any laws by flying that close over the park to report on the Diamondback evacuation?
  15. For those that are staying in hotels a few miles away, what time does the parking gates open on the second day?
  16. Does anyone have pictures of the old playground in Splat City? I'm referring to the playground that was essentially 3 stories high.
  17. I'm wondering what caused that to occur. Also, say I'd went to Kings Dominion with the gold pass working as a platinum, would the other parks still accept it?
  18. That is somewhat comforting.
  19. Last season (2014), I had a gold pass at KI. When time came round to renew passes, I pressed the "renew" option for the platinum pass. It allowed me to go through the payment process, and the paper ticket at the end stated that my card was now active as a platinum pass. However, since this card is physically a "gold pass", am I able to, while at KI, go to the season pass processing center, and have it exchanged for the platinum that I paid for?
  20. Never mind, seems to be an electrical panel malfunction? Someone must have had their wires crossed.
  21. Banshee is Superb!

  22. Also, can we change the title, as no fire was actually confirmed.
